The staff was very professional and helpful. We really appreciated the upgrade to a room with a view of the river. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The hotel is very well located in the old city and across from the boat docks for those taking river cruises. The room was very comfortable and quiet despite being on a busy road across from the boats.

The front desk was understaffed. One woman was there to check people in, answer phones, and also show people where to park there car which meant she had to leave the front desk and walk down stairs to walk people to the parking site.

Peaceful room. Good location. Friendly staff. Dogs are allowed. We could leave our luggage at the hotel four or five hours before we checked in and the same after we checked out. When we picked up our bags, we allowed to sit in the comfortable lobby during a rain storm for an hour to wait for the rain to stop. Breakfast was fine. Though dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room, a comfortable table and cushy chairs in the lobby were provided for us and our dog for eating breakfast.

A bit expensive, though we did book only a couple of days ahead of time. €15 per night for a dog is really too much (many hotels don't charge for dogs). There was only one type of black tea (Earl Grey) for breakfast and in the room, not enough for tea drinkers.

Very comfortable bed, modern bathroom with spacious walk-in shower, tea-making facility. The hotel is perfectly situated in the old part of the city. The breakfast was very good with good quality bread rolls and a choice of good quality teas.

Annoying was the motion-sensor that meant a light went on every time one left the bed (presumably to enable one to see the way in the dark) lighting up the whole room. Completely unnecessary.

Beautiful, pleasantly furnished hotel. It stands on a great - downright ideal - location. From one side, exit to the Danube, from the second floor, exit to the historic center. Very suitable for sightseeing, shopping, walking, getting to know the city of Passau. We had a better room with a river view. Excellently furnished, comfortable. I rate the breakfast as very above standard. Specials were available in addition to the regular items. Nice staff. Parking (for a fee) directly in the garages at the hotel - prior arrangement required. We've visited a lot of hotels around Europe lately, but this one was one of the best. I also recommend the city of Passau - it is not too big, there is a beautiful DOM, a pleasant historical center, but also shopping opportunities - big shops and small shops.

Honestly - I don't know what to write. To make my review seem credible, I will mention a few absolute trivia. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are several literally a few steps away. But the hotel has a pleasant bar and breakfast area. Considering that I am from the Czech Republic, which has a border several tens of kilometers from Passau, I would welcome at least one Czech program - for example CT24 - our very good news station. They are able to offer it even in more distant hotels in different parts of Europe. But that's a really petty little thing.

We were returning from our summer holidays and we choosed to stay one night in Hotel Konig Passau. What a wonderful choice we have made! A very comfortable room for us (with good air conditioning - at 32 degrees outside was a must!), a fabulous breakfast next morning after we slept in very comfortable beds!!! Our hosts were very kind with us and found quickly a solution for putting our car in a bigger garage (as we had our box on top of our car an the usual garage was not tall enough (2 m) and our car spent the night in a secure location near the hotel). Please do not go near Passau, if you arrive there, without spending some quality time to this great hotel. They deserve to have guests, because they are the nicest persons I ever met :).

Nothing! Everything was just perfect: comfortable beds, even the sofa for our son was great ( and he is 2 m tall :) ) Great breakfast in the morning and so many little things that made hotel Konig earn once again his 4 stars. The old town Passau is just near the hotel (what a discovery for us!!!). You can enter in the old city from the second floor directly. And so many bars and small restaurants where you can eat and drink (opened until 23,00). Choose to stay to this great hotel and you will feel like us: still in holiday and with the desire to be back as soon as possible and stay maybe longer :) A really big THANK YOU! to our hosts who made this possible!

A nice traditional hotel on the waterfront. I had a small room with a single bed and a view of the church behind the hotel. I was worried that its bell would ring throughout the night or early in the morning, but fortunately that didn't happen. I chose this hotel as it was the only one available with air conditioning, which was fortunate as it was a very muggy night. The a/c could be switched off at night and made no noise when switched off. Car parking available in a garage on the ground floor if you book ahead.

The location is wonderful, on the river front and a lovely walk to the old town. The breakfast was very good with plenty of fresh and homemade items and plenty of space to sit. The hotel allowed us to have our pet without prior notice.

Clean, good location, good breakfast

I booked parking in the garage and received confirmation email to confirm my booking. When I arrived I was told they overbooked and I didn’t have a parking space. No public parking available nearby, hence why I booked parking. I was then told the confirmation was only an automated reply? Very poor customer service. I travel to Passau frequently and booked this hotel for a change, very disappointing

The room was perfect, very comfortable with some nice touches. Breakfast was very good, the staff friendly and professional. The sauna was really really nice! We loved the 2nd floor exit that takes you straight to the Altstadt.

The WiFi was not good quality

Friendly and helpful staff, well furnished room, excellent breakfast & superb location. I felt the atmosphere that I thought was long lost in hotels nowadays. They even had one of those old binders with additional information, a small notebook, a pen, and the almost extinct, paper City maps. Lovely Classic!
