I really enjoyed my stay at the Orion Draydes , the staff were super helpful and friendly with 24/7 checkin, they gave me a great room. The hotel has a great rooftop / outdoor area thats attached to the breakfast restaurant area, you can sit out there in the morning or watch the sun go down over the view of the Pantheon and Acropolis. The hotel is up a slopping hill and at the back of the hotel the hillside turns into a park which again, has a great view of the city at the top. If you are not able bodied then you will have to use Taxis as the Hotel is a little hike up and down to the main roads that interconnect the center. The area around the hotel is colorful - it can make you feel a little unsure of the area but noone bothered me and there were no troublemakers, the narrow streets around with Graffiti covered buildings can give you a negative vibe but really that is typical of Athens streets in that area and you get used to that. I walked to the Acropolis and many other locations each day, they were typically 1.5 kms away roughly but that was nothing for me as I often wandered an got a coffee on the way and or checked out the crazy flea markets and there is also the Metro stops not far away, I dont mind walking but if you are unable then might be more a struggle, I highly recommend getting a map and try the Metro train system in Athens, it seems overwhelming at first but you quickly work it out and its really good. Anycase I stayed roughly 2 weeks and will be staying again.

Not so much the hotel as I think these prices are being charged by transfer services in Athens Taxi transfers from Airport were 60 Euro. Everything else was great.

I arrived to Athens and booked this hotel upon arrival for 2 nights. I was met with a great mood from the receptionist where she explained in details about the stay where everything was and simplified everything for me - this was well needed as I barely got any sleep on the morning flight so all I was thinking was I needed a nap ASAP. As soon as I got into my room, I switched on the AC desperately and got into bed and had a pleasant nap. I really enjoyed how central the location was - the hotel is close to everything you would need and I spotted lots of nice restaurants, cafes and bars nearby. I can really recommend this hotel!

The shower felt quite small, but it was not really a problem or anything at all.

Excellent friendly staff. They were exceptional. They made every effort to accommodate a request from guests. It is a great location, but reception makes all the difference.

I liked the location in Exarcheia - not too far to walk to the city centre. Quiet and comfortable room. Great view from the breakfast terrace

I traveled alone (solo trip) for 4 nights. The single room was comfortable, reasonable size of the room (more then enough for one person) but very nice with a balcony. Great breakfast (a lot of choices, it satisfies everyone) with a beautiful view all over Athens. Two ladies (one in the reception and one taking care of breakfast) very polite, helpful with everything, the same for a gentleman (not middle age) taking care of the reception at night.

The bed was really uncomfortable, I couldn’t sleep at all. I didn’t say anything to the receptionist but I am sure I would be offered another option immediately. The last day I needed a help of some information about bus departures and I received three times answer from a gentleman middle age at the reception-the schedule is over there, I donno all departures of the buses. This wasn’t helpful at all. So I just gave up on asking any details.

Amazing view from the rooftop, ability to pay for breakfast however we did not take up the option. They have good bag storage, staff were okay, room was good for the night but wouldn't want to stay there much longer. Overall it was still a pleasant experience and the checkout is 12pm which was amazing.

Towels were missing from our room and the receptionist was adamant they were there so tried to come into our room while one of us was in the shower, after a minute of him trying to tell us they would be in the room, he eventually went and got us some. Aircon also didn't work very well. We had to put it down to 16 and it still wasn't very cold. Staircase up to the second bed was very steep and a bit dangerous. In a bit of a dodgy area and far away from the tourism sites.

The location at first seemed a bit strange as in a very narrow side street but proved to be perfect for exploring the more interesting and less touristy areas of Athens. The most vibrant bars and restaurants are close by and it’s fun getting lost in the small pedestrian only streets. We booked the room with balcony and Acropolis view and had a sizeable terrace with a table and two chairs and the most fabulous view. You can also access the Terrasse where breakfast is served during the day and take your own food and drink up there, the view is amazing! Highly recommend the breakfast - fresh Greek cuisine served on that awesome terrace! The staff was super friendly and we had absolutely no issues. The room was basic but clean and quiet and did I mention the terrace and the view :-

Our room was probably on the smaller side but made up with a bigger terrace compared to other rooms. The bathroom was very small, but was in line with what we paid for the room so was fine with us.

Clean and comfortable room and beds. The air conditioner works well in almost silent condition which helps good sleep without noises. The hotel provides free cool water everyday, which is really helpful when you back to the hotel in summer season. Staffs are very nice and helpful. A good value of money and nice choice for short stay.

No complains for the hotel and rooms, everything is comfortable as you need. Hotel locates on a hill at the small park. Nearby public transport station in a 5 to 10 min walking distance,

The terrace and the breakfast are wonderfull. All people working at the reception are so kind and helped me several time. We had romantic dinners at the terrace looking to full Athens of lights and the Parthenon at the rear. Just 20 blocks from Placa, anyway the neigbourhood is full of bars and life.

I made a mistake through booking. We are a couple. Instead of reserving 1 room for 2 people I made a reservation for 2 rooms for 2 people. I sent mails the previous day because although I hadn't realized that I had a message from booking that there was a problem wirh the pay. Sent an email and did't have a response. Arrived and asked the reception person and told me everything was ok. The second day at night the other reception persona told me that I had made the mistake and since it was no refundable I had to pay for 2 rooms and always used one. That was not good for me

I am speaking about Dryades hotel. Very good one, I felt really great there. Personeel especially the lady was absolutely very helpful in every way. She explained me everything about the hotel, the city. Great advice to go to the hotel or leave is best with the taxi as the hotel is on the hill. The hotel is on the hill but near the park and the market on Saturday's. Walking from the hotel direction to the center if you will allow yourself to walk without the gps and looking for good looking areas you will discover nice places to grab good food, smoothies, greek coffee, anything you like.

Orion hotel needs an uplift but has a good vibe. Both hotels are on the hill so if you are not a fit person then it's not for you. For someone who is fit it's automatically a great exercise for all of your muscles ;).
