Im not sure about some negative comments here , you just need to be a bit cautious in Omonia area and thats it. Hotel Solomou is super clean, quiet, great value for money ! Im not sure if anyone can beat it in Athens. The gentleman that works there is helpful, professional and friendly. Real old fashioned hotel experience , for me that is priceless. Most important thing AC works perfectly well ! I sleep in hotels most of the time during the year due to my profession, often top five star hotels with super high expectations ( I often end up being disappointed).I honestly could not find anything wrong with this hotel. Clean , quiet , comfortable, AC and WIFI super functional - thats what u need.

Great location of the hotel near to Omonia metro station so very fast way to the city center. Delicious breakfasts, very helpful personnel, the man at the reception adviced us what to visit and where to go for a dinner near the hotel. Room was sufficient for city sightseeing tourists for few nights with balcony. The streets around the hotel are not very nice, but really very close to metro station and to the center.

Service was nice. I booked single room , but it was super small just with window on the wall.. And I could change the room for a double with balcony with an additional pay.

The location is really bed. It is in Omonia, the worst district and on this street homeless people sleep, there are junkies and smells with urine. It does not feel safe but nothing happened. Just unlpeasant.

The minifridge didn't function, the shower head was small, and the water was coming with too much pressure, and instead of shower gel, we had small little soap bars.. I preferred to buy my own gel and shampoo.

The location was quite central and the room was very clean and spacious. The room was better than I thought it would be.

The street itself is a little sketchy, even though it leads to a main street. For female solo travelers, it could be cause for concern at night.

A lovely little hotel in the centre of Athens. As a solo traveller, it was perfect for my needs. Clean and comfortable, had everything I needed, cooling air con, great WiFi, and friendly and helpful staff, also close to Omonia square, so transport links are easy. Good value for money, and I wouldn't hesitate to book again

No negatives

Stayed here before and returned as very convenient location, lovely staff and super breakfast. Area still scruffy but safe in my experience and perfect for archaeological museum and Omonia Square. Nice big balcony and spacious room.

Lift is very small

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Great location. Easy to get to the city centre and main parts of the city - located 15 minutes walk from Acropolis and close to restaurants and supermarkets nearby. A few minutes walk to the metro station. I enjoyed my stay here

Nice hotel, nice view. Great restaurent/tavern nearby. We had an amazing moment at Mythos just 5 minutes walk from the hotel

The swimming pool closes really early.

The location is great, as it is close to the train station and all major sights. People complain about the issue with the homeless and other notable characters, but for me, it was not a problem. They are in their own world.
