Very clean hotel with helpful and welcoming staff. The hotel is a bit of a tardis! The outside looks unassuming, a villa style property, but behind there are the modern accommodation blocks. Our room appeared to have been freshly decorated/ renovated over the winter period - there was a slight smell of fresh paint (not unpleasant) and the furniture seemed to be new. The communal courtyard was well maintained as was the pool - which the kids enjoyed - despite it being a bit cold in early April! Our room was very comfortable - we stayed two nights and I enjoyed sitting on our balcony with a drink enjoying the late afternoon/ evening sun after a day of visiting either Chania (centre was a 20 minute walk away - the first 10 minutes were a bit dull) or the surroundings by car. The living room was generously sized with a basic kitchenette, complete with a coffee machine and kettle and a small hob - good enough for breakfast or a simple meal. We opted for breakfast at 11 euros per person - it was totally worth it - the table could hardly hold the number of dishes and plates brought for us and included eggs, delicious greek yoghurt, toasted sandwiches, breads, pastries and jams! Everything including the juice seemed to be of good quality. Would recommend!

Beautiful small hotel in a residential street just 10-15 minutes walk from the lively centre of Chania town - with the added bonus of a substantial supermarket just next door. The hotel grounds were very pretty and well kept; the lovely sparkling pool wasn't large but perfectly adequate for the number of guests and there were always sunbeds available. The staff were outstanding - especially the housekeeping ladies who worked so hard to keep the apartments and communal areas impeccably clean and with new towels every day and bed linen changed several times a week. We felt thoroughly spoiled and would definitely recommend the Creta Elena to anyone wanting to visit the bustle of Chania town but sleep peacfefully at night.

These are quiet, functional and really well looked after apartments (and gardens) in a superb location. The staff were friendly and the cleaners particularly worked really hard, always with a smile and a greeting. It's easy to overlook the quality supermarket next door and the lovely square to the right of Creta Elena which is on a tree-lined boulevard with fragrant Jasmine and other plants in gardens along the way.

A minor grumble would be the limited glasses and cutlery, but really I'm nit-picking for the sake of it! Nothing else to add here.

Our studio apartment was kept beautifully clean during our stay as were the outside communal areas. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful & accommodating loaning us a plug adapter, sorting breakfast when we were heading out very early on an excursion and replacing a flickering bulb within minutes of being informed. The pool area and garden areas are beautifully maintained. It’s a real oasis of calm hidden behind an extremely busy street - you genuinely don’t hear road noise at all. We opted for breakfast but the supermarket is next door so you could easily cater for yourself as many other guests did.

There was nothing to dislike - it’s a lovely property.

Creta Elena is a little gem in the city. Small, welcoming, family run and perfect. The ideal place to relax after a full day visiting the harbour and old town or going further afield to view the island. There was always a sunbed available or a table in the shade. Gentle music plays in the background, and there is sunbed/ table service from the small bar. The homemade smoothies are exceptional. There's a supermarket next door and the few local restaurants are very reasonable as the hotel is away from the tourist areas. Our apartment on the 1st floor was well proportioned, recently renovated and super clean. Great air con, wifi, and shower.

We literally loved everything about this hotel, and we will return, but a couple of things that might be of importance to other guests. It is a decent walk to the port and old town 20/25 minutes over typical greek pavements. It didn't bother us. In fact, we enjoy walking and the tranquillity of accommodation off the beaten track.There is a bus stop 20m from the hotel. Also, we didn't hire a car, but the only parking available is on the roads surrounding the hotels, which were constantly busy.

Easy check in and check out even after reception hours, staff was very helpful and friendly throughout. Courtyard area is well maintained and quiet, pool size is very good with shallow end for kids, we really enjoyed it. Room was good size, very clean and air con worked well. Good location, old town area with restaurants and sights is only a very short walk away. Parking is on the street but never had issues finding a spot in front. There is a supermarket next door and a greengrocer a few doors down, coffee shop very near too, all convenient.

A capsule style coffee machine would be nice instead of the sachets.

The check-in was amazing. The front desk/reception people were always very helpful. We even forgot a jacket after our check out and we had already left town and they even offered to mail it to us wherever we wanted. They also gave us very clear instructions for the check-in, etc. Super nice people. The hotel is very nice, it as a decent pool and the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was all good and the beds were comfortable as well. It had a small kitchen that served the purpose very well and we felt very well during our stay. We would come back there.

The neighborhood is not that nice. It's not bad either but we weren't amazed by it.

This property was great. Very clean and convenient with welcoming and professional staff. My accommodation was in the modern section and my balcony overlooked the pool, garden and the rear of the beautiful historical building of the hotel. My room was comfortable and the location was in a perfect spot - safe, less crowded and still close to the centre and KTEL - around 1.5 km or 15 mins walk. It was around 20 mins from the Arch museum and the Venezelou Residence. The property is in a historical area with many buildings circa 1870-1900, local food places, a supermarket close by and a laundry that does your washing for €5 per kilo. It was a quiet area. My room was serviced daily and the wifi was very good. When the refrigerator played up, the staff were apologetic. There is a breakfast option but I bought breakfast while travelling around Chania, trying different bougatsa.

I got the room with the biggest balcony that I enjoy watching the start at night from a beach chair. Staff are very friendly and super helpful, as well as the cat name Leon. The pool is quite big and never too crowded. I love to have my day start with an iced Fredo Espresso by the pool with some homemade cake from their cafe. Seem like most ppl stay here with a family, not only tourist but also lots of greek ppl. Room is spacious for the price. Its a kind of basic service apartment, nothing fancy but have have everything you would need for your stay. The location is superb, next to big supermarket and cafes, short walk to beach and old town. Will definetly stay here again

Really enjoyed our stay here. We had very nice apartment with kitchen and seperate bedroom with quite big place on front to sit in the evening and relax. Everything was very clean, hotel nad very nice personnel, i must admit that all the ladies were very friendly and helpful with everything, daily cleaning service and very good breakfest, fresh and tasty. The place itself is quiet but located in good area, surrounded by many restaurants on square nearby.
