It was probably the best breakfast we have ever had in a hotel. Definitely 10 points. Once we also had lunch at "On the Cliff" bar. Good food, reasonable prices. The bar was always busy, as compared to the neighboring eateries. An excellent location, it was about 50m from the stairs to the old port, you can see the cable cars from the terrace, the panorama is simply great to enjoy the sunsets. It's a pity that due to the weather conditions, we didn't manage to enjoy any of the sunsets. Responsive staff. They respond quickly to requests, we got an extra blanket as well as dishes, knives and other things we asked for. Simona manages things professionally.

The only drawback could be mentioned that the niche in the room is too small for storing things and the shelves are not designed well. By this I do not want to diminish the good impression of the hotel. It is a suggestion about what could be done better.

We visited Fira to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. We were in room 6. View was breathtaking and our outdoor space was not overlooked from above. There was really not that many steps to get down to our room from street-level (I have just returned from a trip to Cinque Terre - steps in Fira are nothing compared to those in Cinque Terre!!!!). Upon arrival and leaving, Angel (employee) so kindly dealt with our luggage. Our taxi service from the airport (which we arranged ourselves) contacted On The Cliff to state when we would arrive in the town (meeting point near Mc Donald’s) so we were met by Angel, who then (God bless him) hauled our suitcases to the appartment, which was just 2 minutes walk away - so central. The included breakfast in the restaurant on street level, just above the rooms was absolutely delicious…and the view?…well it is just stunning!!!! Simona was so sweet, she brought a bottle of local wine to our room on my daughters birthday morning. She is such an energetic, smily host. And our cleaner (didn’t get her name) does an amazing job, every day we came back to a spotless, organised room.

The only downfall of our stay was that the plunge pool is not heated. We visited in April, I’m sure if you visit during the summer the water temperature would be warmer than what we experienced. But for us sadly we were unable to use it. Would be a good idea if water was able to be heated by some type of solar system?!

The view is amazing and it’s comfortable place to stay and a starting point for our trip. The property is also nicely designed in the style of Santorini. The hotel cost also includes a breakfast and it’s excellently prepared. The location is super convenient close to the main square and the trail to the old port and cable car. At first I was very hesitant to stay here because the TripAdvisor rating is very low, but it beats my expectation. Overall I would recommend it for winter stay (not sure how well they do in the peak season).

I wish the tub is hot and the temperature is too cold to soak. Bring a bucket heater and long extension cable if you want to make it hot (check with the staff first).

The location was perfect and the views were stunning! Sarina was so kind and helpful in organising airport and port transfers for us (the porters will carry your luggage between the taxi and accom) Sarina also organised our booking on a sunset catamaran cruise which is a must do! The rooms had everything we needed and were very clean. Make sure you set aside a night to watch the sunset from the spa! The restaurant upstairs has breakfast and offered to bring dinner to our room as well. Super convenient! Would definitely stay again.

The location is absolutely perfect — it honestly couldn’t be better. Everything is close by, and the view from the room is just stunning. The cleanliness was excellent, and our host, Simona, was wonderful. She was really helpful, kind, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. I really don’t understand why some people complain about the stairs. There are only about 10 steps, which is absolutely nothing to worry about.

As for the negatives: if you’re sensitive to noise, please note that the soundproof isn’t good at all, and you can hear music from the nearby club, which is located just behind the hotel.

Simona, the manager, was nothing short of phenomenal! She went well out of her way to make sure we were taken care of even if she was gone for the day or we were gone before she got to work in the morning, and she set up a catamaran tour for us. The views and location were absolutely perfect - a little off the main streets, but so close to everything. The rooms and bathrooms are a very generous size and very clean. Reasonably priced for the area compared to other places I looked into. There are only 8 rooms, I think, so they are able to provide great attention to their guests. The included breakfast was fantastic! It came on a platter for 2 and included meat, cheese, eggs, salad, fruit, and yogurt. The perfect way to start your day!

There are no real complaints here! If I had to be picky, some of the jacuzzi tile grout could be touched up/replaced/updated, but everything was great! As I noted in my Google review, be careful with water on the floor. My husband almost killed me because he left his bathing suit hanging from a hook in the bathroom. The water puddled on the floor and I was wearing the provided slippers and almost landed on my behind! Use the drying rack just outside your door.

The location and views were amazing. The hot tub and outside space was the huge draw for booking this hotel. The views of the caldera at sunset and the morning breakfast above the room was amazing with the views and breeze coming through the windows. The breakfast was the highlight of the morning for us. Delicious and lovely.

The showers needed caulking and general maintenance. One of the showers were clogged so we only used one of them. The cots needed reworking. Maybe add some built in futon where the living room sofa is. A few shelves and storage hooks would have been helpful to hang coats/bags etc. More hooks for towels in the bathroom.

The service and breakfast were the highlights of our stay at On the Cliff Simona was a fantastic host, she was responsive and helpful during our trip. She coordinated a last minute catamaran excursion for us which was exceptional and one of the highlights of our trip. She also helped book ferry and airport transfers which made our arrival and departure very easy. Breakfast was delicious and included eggs, meats and cheese, fresh bread, fruit and yogurt, and some Greek favorites including dolmas, olives and fresh Greek salad with feta. The room was as described and as expected for the price point. The bed was comfortable and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Location was in the heart of Fira, with shops and restaurants surrounding the hotel. The sunset views from our room were well worth the stay. If you are looking for more privacy, or peace and quiet, look outside of the city center. Balconies and soaking tubs are visible from nearby restaurants and other rooms which is to be expected in more congested cliffside areas of Fira and Oia. We would recommend this hotel for a couple looking to be in the heart of town who plans on spending most of their time exploring the island or Santorini. The location of the hotel is right in the middle of the shopping area which is wonderfully convenient. The view is unbeatable and the breakfast was excellent as well. My kids loved the cave like showers and the pool with the view. The reception was great for providing suggestions and activities and did a great job to make everyone feel at home.

I wish we could have stayed longer. Because the location of the hotel is on the cliff (as the name implies) there are really steep stairs here that are required to be taken to get to the rooms. The staff were amazing in how they were able to carry the luggage up and down (thankfully we didn't have to do it) so luggage was not an issue but do know that the stairs are steep. It was not an issue for us but those with mobility problems could struggle.
