The villa was impecably clean, bedsheets and towels were regularly changed. Although there were many tourists coming and going daily, it was so quiet and peaceful. The pool was absolutely wonderful, with a little bar serving drinks throughout the day. Food could also be ordered in advance, although we ate in local bakeries (breakfast) and restaurants (dinner). We were so impressed by George and Nancy (owners), as they went above and beyond with their warm, welcoming service. Such a personal touch!

There was nothing to dislike, it was just perfect!

I found the pool to be quite lovely, and the accommodations were both pleasant and stylish. It's also convenient that they have a private bar. The beach was easily accessible, only a ten-minute walk away. Furthermore, the parking spots were well-situated.

The location was convenient to the airport, allowing one to hear the planes, though it was not overly disruptive. The kitchen, however, was somewhat lacking, as it contained only the bare essentials, making it difficult to prepare more than a simple pasta dish.

Considering the apartment rate charged,there is nothing we did not like about the property. In fact, we are returning customers from last year and we will most probable choose to stay here again on our future holidays to Kateros. The only drawback is the noise of overhead airplanes taking off well into the night, but this is an issue for the whole area. For us, the nicety of the beach there far outweighs this relatively unavoidable issue for the area.

Everything was great. I can recommend this place to everyone, because you have everything, what you need, on place or near by. The airport is possible to reach even by walk :-) but I don"t recommend to walk from the airport with your baggage, the walkways along the streets are narrow and full of obstructions (but without heavy baggage possible). Easily you can go by bus, from and to the airport you need to use 2 different bus lines each way, but the way by buses is very easy, fast and the bus stop is very close to the apartments. You really do not need an expensive taxi. My apartment had a balcony, a small kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom and a small "living room" equipped with a table for eating. Internet connection was excellent and fast (I was able to upload easily my pictures and videos each day to my home NAS drive). The kitchen was equipped with basic things, I could prepare my "not-demanding" food with no problem, there is no microwave oven, but there is induction cooker and some pots, so it was enough for me. The supermarket is in the village, max. 5 minutes walk. There are several smaller minimarkets even closer. You can buy everything what you need there. There are some tavernas and coffee bars in the village as well, but I did not use them (so you must not cook if you want, everything is up to your needs and wishes). The room itself was very clean, they took away the garbage and changed the towels regulary. The bed was comfortable - I sleep well anywhere so for me it is not important if it is more soft or more hard, it was something in the middle, but the most important is - it was clean. The bathroom was perfect, the shower worked well. The swimming pool is great, with warm water, crystal clear and clean. It was really very nice and I liked it. You can buy some drinks by the pool bar. The staff is very kind and friendly. The beach is great and big, 10 minutes by walk, not overcrowded, with buffet, bars, toilettes, showers.

The swimming pool is open only until 19:00 - one hour more would be better. At the evening it is the most better time to spend in the pool (as you are by the sea or anywhere away during the day).

Fantastic stay. Lovely warm, friendly family run small apartment block. The pool is wonderful, not too busy and the apartment was cleaned every 2 days. Everything was very comfortable. Air conditioning included which was very welcome. Small mini markets nearby to buy fresh and other food and the beach with beach bars and sunbeds less than 10 minute walk. Plenty local eateries and a gorgeous bakery/dessert shop. Taxis about €18/20 to the city but the bus into Heraklion is cheap, easy to get and only 20 minutes. Get your ticket from the mini market. Although the kitchen was well equipped with kettle, toaster and coffee machine with filters ( you can get freshly ground coffee from the nearest mini market) it would benefit from a chopping board and a slightly bigger knife to make cutting the lovely local watermelons a bit easier. All in all, a lovely place for a fantastic holiday and would recommend Crete in general and Nancy-Chara apartments in particular.

It was a 3-4 minute walk to the main road which had two mini markets and a great restaurant which provided a wide variety of food at cheap prices. There is also a bus stop across the road from the restaurant where you can catch a bus to Heraklion city for €1.60 which takes approx 35 minutes. Karteros beach is approx 10 minutes walk where you will find numerous bars open for business. Also, at the top of the hill going south east there is a bus nearly every hour that goes to Agios Nikolaos among other places, which is worth a visit.

The only thing I felt was missing in the area besides a few more restaurants, was a laundromat.

The apartment was clean, and the staff was very friendly. Even though we didn’t have a car and spent a week in the apartment and the surrounding area, it wasn’t a problem. The beautiful pool and nearby beach made it easy to have a relaxed and enjoyable vacation. We had a great time and would love to visit again!

The apartment had no pan and very limited dishes and cutlery, making it difficult to cook. It’s best to bring basics like oil, salt, etc..

This is a beautiful property and the host was lovely; we couldn’t fault the property, but the reason I didn’t score 10 is because I am a very light sleeper and even though the room is sound proofed, it wasn’t soundproofed enough for me, on the other hand my husband slept soundly, as he has no trouble sleeping at all.

Just the fact that I could hear the road noise outside on the main road through Heraklion,

We stayed 8 nights at Nancy Chara Apartments and it was a lovely experience. Nancy is very kind, helpful and was always contactable for whatever questions we had about the area. The apartment complex itself was extremely clean, tidy and pleasing to the eye. The pool was cleaned daily as was the area surrounding it. There are many sun loungers available to guests and a little area for refreshments, coffees and I believe food at certain times of the day. We stayed in a split level apartment and had a view to the North, overlooking the airplanes landing, it was nice to watch them all come in. The apartment was clean and comfortable with everything that we needed. There was AC in the main room which worked amazingly and double doors out onto the balcony. A fresh sheet, two clean towels and toilet paper were given every two days as well as a cleaning of the apartment which was a lovely touch. Karteros itself is a small, quiet town which is a nice change from Heraklion city with its busy streets and is in very close proximity by bus. We did all of our site seeing by bus and it was very easy from Nancy Chara Apartments as the bus stop is a 2 minute walk away as are many small and bigger shops, coffee shops, restaurants and many beaches with loungers. We don’t have a bad word to say about our stay and we were even able to stay a few hours after check in as our flight was late in the evening which was extremely helpful. If we revisit the area we will definitely be back to Nancy Chara Apartments. Thank you for your hospitality.

Lovely self contained apartments. Very quiet. Pool was beautiful and quiet. Parking was ample and area was very convenient for shops and petrol. Airport only 10 mins away very convenient. Super close to the beach took a 5 minute walk. It had a cooker fridge, sink and pots, pans, cutlery and a beautiful balcony you can eat breakfast and dinner on. Also fresh towels delivered every other day.
