Easy and quick to get to from the airport. Arrived about 10 at night and was met with a smile, checkin was easy, just a simple form to fill in and then on to my room with a very comfortable bed. The room was a good size as was the bathroom and in the morning the room was bright and airy with a decent sized balcony. Breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice from cereals, through continental style and also cooked food. I did have a feast to set me up for the day ahead. I will not hesitate to stay here again if I need an airport hotel.

I have stayed at Sofia Hotel many times, and it has always been perfect for me. The location is ideal if you are needing the airport, and the bus stop is close by of you are venturing into the town. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. My rooms have always been clean, cosy and comfortable. The area is very quiet, so you can relax in peace by the pool. The hotel also has a private parking area, so no need to try and find parking on the street. I have always loved staying at Sofia, and i will definitely be staying here again the next time I am travelling to Heraklion.

This is a well-appointed hotel, in a lively suburb of Heraklion not far from the airport. It was an ideal location for the first part of our visit to Crete, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The area around the swimming pool was particularly pleasant.

Nothing was problematic. An extra armchair would have been welcome, but it would have been hard to fit it into the room. Tea and coffee making facilities are not yet expected in mainland Europe, but hopefully this will change over time.

stayed there before last October, so I knew what to expect and what NOT to expect. This should be considered purely as a transit hotel, not more not less. When I kanded at HER long after midnight there was no more bus running so I had to take a Taxi and couldn't escape the "Minimum" fare of 15€ for the three minute ride. The next morning when I picked up my rental car I walked to the airport in less than 20 minutes. Room is clean but very basic. Noise from plane traffic is bearable.

the room is tiny, can't even sit at the desk properly as not enough space for the chair - see the pics. Very difficult to open your suitcase even as a single traveller. Breakfast is as basic as the room

Reception is friendly and informative. Rooms are nice. The area surrounding the pool is lovely. The location is perfect: a short taxi ride from the airport with our bags, and a 20 minute walk back to the airport without bags a couple of days later to pick up our rental car. The hotel is not far from the main road between the airport and Heraklion centre and there are buses every 5 minutes or so. Google maps makes it easy to use the buses.

Lovely hotel with a luxurious pool and beautiful little garden. Suitable for children but also peaceful place for relaxing. It's fun to watch aeroplanes take off over your head. Hotel is located in nice neighbourhood with bakery and cafeterias very close. You can see mountains from upper rooms balconies. Very friendly staff! We felt welcome. Rooms are clean and beautiful and you can't hear any noise. There is a bus to the centre of Iraklion or you can take a nice walk.

Everything we needed. Very friendly, welcoming staff. A comfortable room, everything worked well. We arrived after 10.30 from the airport and the staff were willing to serve us a light meal and drinks sitting outside round the pool. Breakfast for €8 was excellent, again outside, shaded around the pool

There was nothing we didn't like. An extra info was that had it been light we could have walked from the airport ,, (30 mins flat) but as it was dark it was too difficult, €15 in a taxi, well worth it.

I liked it and was happy with everything. I got a nice recommendation for dinner, the shower was great :-) it was quiet and the bed was cosy. perfect for what I expected.

the lobby area was not so cosy and there could be in general a bit more nice decoration. I would have loved a water cooker in the room plus some instant coffe, milk, etc. :-) but that is personal taste and not super serious stuff. I would come back again!

Great hotel, super nice staff. It's clean and surrounded by plenty shops, supermarkets, bus stops and everything you need. The pool is amazing to have around :) it's also close to special buses that go around the island which is great to visit plenty

Only small problem would be the location, it's a 20 min bus ride to Heraklion Center and a 40 min walk to Heraklion but giving the pricing, it's really good

I have stayed at Hotel Sofia several times over the course of 12 years. The design of the rooms is a little dated now and unfortunately the restaurant does not have a full kitchen any more like it used to but only serves pizzas now. But otherwise it is a well enough hotel situated close to the airport and a great stop for 1 or 2 nights after arrival or before departure.
