Helpful and friendly staff. Good quality for the price.

Being on a main though fare the noise level was a bit distracting. Even with door and drapes pulled. The first nigh I did not realize that the sliding glass door had a tilt function which allowed for ventilation, but left a gap at the top which allowed more noise into the room. At times I felt that someone was on my balcony because of the conversation noise was so loud. I understand the water issue and thought the shower faucet was very functional, but the interior space made any shower very awkward. No matter how I tried water escaped onto the floor and even with the drain, it was an issue. Breakfast, for a charge, was a bit skimpy. With all of the tables, an evening meal would be a real plus.

The hotel is run by very kind people. We stayed just a couple of days to explore the city before our flight, but I would have loved to stay longer! The breakfast is simple but complete and very good. Our room even had a small balcony where we could hang out our beach towels and let them dry. The room had everything we needed. A ten-minute walk takes you to the city center. On our last day, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel so we could explore one last time without having to worry about leaving it in the car. Our flight was also delayed, so we asked if we could stay in the lobby for a bit to charge our phones, and they said yes without a problem. They were really kind and I would return as soon as possible. Thank you!!

I arrived late in Heraklion so I needed someone to stay for one night. This place was great for the value. Check in was smooth despite I arrived between 10 and 11pm. Walkable distance from the only McDonald’s on the island. It was also easy to get there by bus from the airport. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly.

It was staying there on Saturday night and at times it was a bit noisy from the street. Slightly outdated showers. I couldn’t fully close the curtains, therefore it was difficult to sleep once it got bright outside.

Athinaikon Hotel is just 15 minutes from city center by foot. Our room was small but comfortable and clean, we also had everything we needed in there. Receptionist was very friendly and kind, he gave us helpful tips for restaurants. Check in and check out were very easy and fast. We appreciated that!

Breakfast was included but we always preferred to go somewhere else to have it. It is a quite old building so we think that renovation would really help to have a more cozy hotel.

Rating this for what it is - a two star hotel. And for the price (~70€ a night for 2), you really get a good room! It's nothing fancy, but it's clean, A/C works fine and the breakfast was good (enough choices to have it a few times - great doughnuts!). Good curtains to block the morning sunlight. It's a nice spot to spend a night or two when you're traveling further, especially if you use the ferry! It's very close to the port. The check-in is 24/7, so you can arrive at night - there was a person at the reception. The hotel seems to be renovated quite recently. Free parking available on the street, but may be hard to find a spot... Overall, very happy with our stay, but wouldn't stay longer than a couple of nights.

The shower curtain does not stop the water, so you get some spills on the floor. The balcony is small and has the A/C unit, so not a great place to sit and rest. The street next to the hotel is very busy and noisy (main street). I slept with ear plugs and it was fine, but if you need peace and quiet - you may be frustrated. Also, the elevator smelled of urine or something like that :(.

The house is spacious and welcoming, tastefully furnished (all new). It is equipped with air conditioning and mosquito nets, a very comfortable bed and a useful and beautiful furnished veranda. The bathroom is large and comfortable and the cleaning is daily and thorough. The area is quiet and strategic for reaching splendid beaches nearby. The owner is extremely kind and helpful and across the street it is possible to have lunch and dinner at a low price in a delicious tavern of local cuisine.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, particularly due to the hotel's excellent location. Situated near the edge of the old town, it offers the perfect balance of being close enough to easily walk to the historic center, while still providing a peaceful escape from the bustling crowds. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. On our check-out day, they kindly stored our luggage, allowing us to explore more before our afternoon flight. The breakfast was satisfactory, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds, making for a pleasant stay overall.

Friendly welcome and helpful recommendation for a place to eat when we arrived late after flight delay. Clean and comfortable room with fridge, quiet air-con, little traffic overnight on the road outside so a peaceful night's sleep. Decent breakfast in pleasant lounge with option to use the pretty terrace outside. Very handy for our onward journey from bus station.

A little more information at breakfast would have been nice; we'd nearly finished when people arrived and were served different coffees to the flask on the counter. But, overall a good stay and we would consider returning.

The hotel is recently renovated, hence the room was looking upscale. It was spacious and had all the basic amenities, and the spacious balcony was a big plus. The hotel offers room cleaning every day. The staff was very kind and attentive. The best 2 assets are probably the location (10 minutes away from the city center on foot) and the breakfast (had an abundance of options).

The AC in room 305 didn't work properly as it was probably lacking freon, ao we had to have it on 24/7. There was a slightly unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom, so we kept the door shut while we were out.

The hotel is approximately 15 mins away fron the city centre on a very busy street. The rooms were very nice and clean, the personnel was extremely kind and helpful and breakfast was really good. Overall it was great to stay here

The hotel is located on a very busy street, which means that at every hour of the day there is noise coming from outside, thus it is not recommended to sleep with the windows open. While the room was fairly spacious, the bathroom was quite tight with just enough space to move. Finally, I had booked this hotel also because it offers some parking spots: the parking area is on the main street, opposite the hotel, which makes it a bit complicated, once you reach the hotel, to u-turn and park in tranquillity.
