It’s centrally located near all main tourists spots. It’s surrounded by great little eateries. The staff is fabulous; they are helpful and very welcoming. Excellent communication with staff before arrival. The rooms are small but comfortable. Everywhere is very clean. Bed is comfortable and there is a selection of pillows, if desired. We used the airport taxi service. The driver was lovely , and we chatted with him the entire way to the hotel. It was like visiting family, but without underlying family tensions. The breakfast was good and had a good selection from fruit to the usual European meat and cheese selection.

The hotel is situated in a quiet street, but in a live area. Around you can find a lot of coffee shops and restaurants. Room was spacious and comfortable, in a very good condition. Also with a large shower/toilet. Our room was at the back in a closed yard, but cleverly they use a large printed illustration that make you feel is a large building opposite you. Breakfast has a good variety, and some things change by day. The ability to use the coffee machine 24/7 (or have various teas) with biscuits, is a good touch if you want to relax downstairs. The hotel is not large, but is cosy. One of also good reasons to stay is that near and around there are accessible means of transportation with short distance walking (bus, tram, metro) that from there you can visit Budapest for sightseeing. Definitely the hotel will stay on our list.

Not that is "don't like".. The known problem in hotels and this kind of facilities with the smell in the bath, especially if is left with closed door. In this case the smell was quickly dissappear when the door was left open for a while. Can't find something else as "dont"..

The receptionist in the lobby as well as the rest of the staff at the hotel was welcoming, polite and helpful and did his best to help guide us and make our stay enjoyable The breakfast was wonderful, tasty and varied The atmosphere in the dining room creates a particularly pleasant sense of intimacy The dining room staff were exceptionally polite and helpful

It was a bit warm in the room and the air conditioner did not work because the air conditioning is central and the hotel switched to winter mode The hotel staff made sure to provide us with a fan in the room which made it a little easier We would be happy if the air conditioning could be activated at this time of the year as well

The room was very spacious, water pressure amazing, quite street. The location was exceleent, we didn't use public transportation but walked everywhere. The breakfast was really good and the breakfast staff were very kind. It was nice to have coffee and tea during the day free of charge. They have a pillow menu which we have used and was great. Room was cleaned every day.

We really liked our stay and we would stay there again. For feedback here's what we think needs to be improved: Seems minor and totally subjective but we really didn't like the decor (for example, artificial flowers on the shower sink and in the hallway). Also, based on the reservation on booking.com the shower was supposed to be a walk-in shower, half open. We got one which was fully closed, a bit dated.

Probably the best hotel in the central part of Budapest I have stayed at recently. Good price quality ratio, pleasant atmosphere, clean and warm room with everything you might need, rich and tasty breakfast with a glass of sparkling wine if you wish. 24 hour access to free non alcoholic drinks and some snacks. About 5-7 min walk to the Airport bus/ metro station.

Our room was rather small but I guess it is ok if your stay is short. The door to the bathroom was kind of flimsy and not at all soundproof. Because of the long table it was difficult to reach the window and open it for some fresh air.

Lovely comfortable room, and very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good selection of food at breakfast buffet, and even a glass of champagne! Nice location, 5 minute walk from opera house.

Hospitality tray in room not replenished daily, several times had to go down to reception to get coffee sachets and fresh carafe of water as none left. One day we were out for over 5 hours and on return room not cleaned and no fresh towels

Our stay at Hotel Ambra was a genuine pleasure. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by professional service that was always helpful and willing to assist with any queries or requests. The staff were friendly and always smiling, contributing to our overall sense of comfort and well-being. The hotel's location is absolutely ideal, situated in the heart of Budapest, close to major attractions and excellent restaurants. Breakfast was excellent, with a buffet offering a wide range of fresh pastries, fruits, dairy products, eggs, sweet dishes, and other delights. Overall, the hotel is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a combination of outstanding service and a superb location.

- staff were super friendly - wonderful breakfasts. So much variety. There was also fizzy wine available with breakfast which was different and enjoyed by lots of the guests. - really comfortable beds - great location nears lots of restaurants and 15-20 mins walk to the river - ‘bar area’ so you could have a drink if you wanted to after hours

- I found it quite noisy in my room (1st room on 1st floor) both from outside and inside hotel. Walls are a little thin so could hear my neighbours. Hotel does provide ear plugs but they were in the wardrobe and I only found them as I was checking out. I’d suggest leaving them by the bedside. - my shower was running scolding hot and then a few seconds of cold before returning to normal temperature (and then repeating). By day 4, this was getting very annoying. However my friend had no issues so maybe it was just that room. - also shower was on the small side so could be a problem for anyone taller/bigger but again my friend’s room had a bigger shower. So luck of the draw I guess. Overall pleasant stay and I would highly recommend!

Nice hotel in a great location. Staff on the reception were really helpful and even let us check in early! As two girls we felt really safe here. Location was ideal not too noisy but also central, lots of restaurants, cafes and bar on our door step and only a short walk to all the touristy places. Nice selection of breakfast and coffee available all day! Fantastic value for money. I would stay here again and recommend it to a friend.

The Ambra hotel staff were warm and friendly. Always smiling and acknowledging us. The breakfast choices were superb. On offer was scrambled eggs, Beans,sausages pastries,fruit , yogurt and cereals. Even rice pudding. An exemply spread. The room was spacious and clean. The shower was good. Superb hotel. Highly recommended. They had a complimentary hot drinks machine and some snacks on the reception floor which meant you could pop in and have a 5 min chill out throughout the day. The location was central , walks around Elisabeth old town, jewish quarter, near bars and restaurants and not too long to the River straight down the road via the main shopping area. So much to see and do around the area.
