Great location, central to all major tourist spots, lots of options for food and drinks nearby. Great hotel and very nice rooms.

Hotel Rumour is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. It’s right next to the metro and the place where the Airport bus stops and very handy for numerous sights in Budapest. The hotel is on the first floor of a fantastic old Budapest block with a central courtyard and feels connected to the historic city in that way. The room I was in was large and completely silent day and night. Rooms next to the road with a better view might be more noisy but I think this place is hard to beat at the price. Best of all, the staff were extremely helpful, always proactive and kind.

The location of this hotel is perfect as a city centre base. Very good transport links and a taxi rank outside the door. The hotel is no fuss - there is the reception desk and that is it. Think multiple apartments converted into a series of rooms. The staff proved very obliging - e.g. extra coffee, bottles of water etc. available on request for the room. The room (at the back looking onto a large internal courtyard) was very quiet - no street noise / traffic noise at all. Ideal!

Not a negative - but to highlight that the hotel does not provide breakfast. There is a (very good, very good value) café immediately downstairs. Wifi variable.

Lovely clean, modern, warm boutique hotel in the centre of town minutes from the Christmas markets and everything you want. Minutes walk from the 100E airport shuttle bus which is great. Friendly staff, big room and huge bed and all very quiet. The restaurant next door Lisboa do a fantastic breakfast/brunch too. Supermarket round the corner for any essentials. Welcome coffee on arrival was a nice touch. Netflix on tv also a good shout when you’re home after a long day sightseeing/shopping etc.

Everything was great. If I could find anything to improve.. Maybe a larger duvet? And slippers in the room but they are available as well as other things at reception.

Lovely interior, classy design. Central location was great. Staff were friendly. Netflix in rooms was nice touch.

Pillows were so soft and lumpy, need replaced. The shower tray overflowed on the first use, after lifting up the drain bar I saw it was filled with hair (not mine as I hadn’t washed mine yet) I had to pull it out to unclog the drain, this wasn’t nice and should of been done by the cleaner after each stay. Windows aren’t sound proof and it’s a busy road/ street so I’d advise ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper, didn’t bother me but woke my partner through the night.

The location was excellent. Just by the metro station Deak Ferenc ter and where the airport express bus 100E stops (2200 HUF) so you arrive more quickly than by taxi. Also easy access to Keleti train station by metro. It is located in a busy place but very quiet inside. We were two female travellers and felt safe all the time. Nearby a lot of tourist trap restaurants but also hidden gems with reasonable prices where locals dine (Paulay Ede street). The room (standard) felt more spacious than in the pictures and the bathroom was bigger than in many other hotels. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Fantastic location . Welcoming arrival and helpful reception staff. Given a welcome drink and very helpful information about sightseeing. Hotel had kindly gifted us some fizz to celebrate our anniversary which was lovely. Room was very clean.

The room itself really needed a wall mirror to enable women to do hair and make up and also a power socket other than just by bed . Also found duvet particularly small. A few coat hooks would be useful also as our coats were extra wet and there was nowhere to hang them. These are all easy fixes which would make stay more comfortable.

It is the helpful and always-available staff that makes this place special—they made great recommendations for meals and transport. The common spaces were quite pretty, which was rather a relief, since the entrance was dark and not well marked, shared with two other hotels and a magic show. But once you reach the hotel (on the first floor by European reckoning—there’s an elevator) it’s great. The room had both a table and a desk, with three chairs. The room was impressively quiet.

The bed was a bit hard and the comforter small; and it would have been nice to have a place to set down my bathroom stuff in the bathroom. Storage overall was a bit limited, though the room was big enough.

Well it s my 1st time in my life writing bad reviews but i faced really bad attitude from the girl named Nikki , (she is not the girl who checked me in , she came after her) i asked her whats the code for the door downstairs ? She answered me in angry face and shouting , and again she was shouting at my why i asked for early checked in .. she was extremely disrespectful , awful and racist . Well booking.com know that i travel the world and i never wrote bad reviews or had any issues like this before

Hotel Rumor offers a charming stay with a warm welcome upon arrival, even when just dropping off bags before exploring the city. While the hotel isn’t the easiest to find—tucked away on the first floor of a nondescript building—just look out for the white sign. Once inside, the room (Room 4) impressed with its lovely decor, large wardrobe, comfy bed, and clean environment. The amenities were thoughtful, including access to Netflix, a safe (with assistance from the friendly reception staff), coffee-making facilities, and a desk for any work needs. The lighting options allowed for a customizable atmosphere, and the air conditioning was a welcome relief, with no issues leaving it on during the day.

However, a couple of issues marred an otherwise pleasant stay. The room wasn’t cleaned one day, which was particularly annoying due to the inefficient shower curtain that soaked the bathroom floor every time. A glass door would have been much more practical, especially when trying to be environmentally conscious with towel usage. Additionally, the button to switch between the overhead and handheld shower was quite stiff. Despite these small setbacks, Hotel Rumor is a lovely place to stay with friendly staff, and I would recommend it for a visit to Budapest.
