Our stay was okay overall. The view from the room was definitely the highlight – really beautiful and peaceful. The room itself was fine, nothing special but decent for a short stay. There was a note suggesting not to open the windows due to flies, but we opened them briefly for fresh air and ended up with hundreds of flies inside. So definitely take that warning seriously – we learned the hard way!

We had a room with a shared bathroom. Thankfully, we were the first to arrive and found everything clean. Unfortunately, within an hour the bathroom became quite dirty and the toilet was in a bad state. It’s more about some guests not respecting shared spaces than the fault of the place itself.

The hotel is located about 10 min drive before a small town of Hof, which is a small fishing port. You need to have a car. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The check in was quick as we only need to confirm our nationality and sign a small piece of paper. No need to do credit card deposit. The room is not new but clean and well maintained, except for the television, which has no power. We were lucky to get a room on the ground floor as we have heavy suitcases. The WiFi is good and can connect without password. The beds are clean and mattresses are comfortable.

The tv did not work. Location is outside town. You need to go to the nearest shops and restaurants by car.

The hotel it's a bit old, but it really doesn't matter. The room was way better than was our first impression in the hallway :) Everything was spotless, room was very spacious, nice view. You can make a coffee in the room. Price in season was amazing for what you get. Not even 10 min drive to Hofn. There is also a small bar - Gull on tap and some alco/nealco drinks avaliable too. Definitely would stay again :)

I think it would be great to use blackout curtains. So if you have a problem sleeping during icelandic summer, take a sleeping mask.

The staff were lovely, the breakfast buffet was good, it just about has enough variety that it's not boring, but makes up for it by keeping the food fresh and I think I had the best toasted granola I've ever had.

There wasn't anything I explicitly disliked. The rooms we were in were in another building so that was a bit disorienting at check in since we already got all the suitcases out and it's pretty cold in Iceland.

Staff were friendly. Shared bathroom was very clean when we got in at 7pm. It stayed clean throughout the night and morning. We did get room 309 which had no rooms connected to it so it was quiet. Gets packed at breakfast but food or drinks never ran out. Would stay again.

Carrying luggage to the “3rd floor” stairs wasn’t that bad. Only 1 set of stairs you had to carry luggage up but stairs were short.

The staff was very nice, bed was comfy and the breakfast was terrific. Nice views too!

The bathroom was stupid tiny with a shower design that got everything wet (it was like a shower on a sailboat...no divider, no curtain; so everything in the bathroom could get wet if you weren’t careful. And it’s weird....Iceland hotels and guest houses do not provide soap! You have to bring the hand soap container into the shower with you. Bus tours use this hotel, so kind of crowded at breakfast with lots of hungry people grabbing at the food on the breakfast buffet.

It was clean, very serviceable and had everything we needed. The breakfast in the morning was very nice and offered a sufficient variety. The best thing was the gentleman at the front desk who was very friendly and helpful.

It could use a little updating, especially in the bathroom. The sinks were so tiny that we could not refill our water bottle or even fill the kettle from the sink.

Great view of the glacier way off in the distance. Very good breakfast buffet.

Large group of travelers played cards LOUDLY in the common area later into the evening than we would have liked, and picked it up again in the morning before their bus departed. Can't hold the property responsible for their actions, but maybe some signs about quiet hours could have been conspicuously posted. Not sure if they are there or not. Didn't go looking for them. And, it doesn't mean that these travelers would have adhered to the rules.

It was nice and clean, easy to find. Only a few minutes away from Hofn. Breakfast was very nice - typical European with lots of pastries, fresh baked bread, deli meats and cheeses, plenty of yogurt, juices/coffee/tea. Everything felt well maintained and clean. Staff was very friendly. No issues with checkin, didn’t even need to put a credit card on file for incidentals.

Our room was in a separate building from the main breakfast area. Just meant for a chilly 30 second run across the courtyard in the mornings.

Very nice rooms, clean and modern showers.

There were not enough toilets. We were accommodated right across the bathrooms so we could hear everyone come in and out. One of the locks was not working but everyone kept trying so it was quite disturbing. However, I mentioned it to the receptionist and they sent someone to fix it. So overall, it was a nice stay.
