Our stay at this hidden gem in Rauðaberg II was nothing short of extraordinary! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking scenery visible through two walls of floor-to-ceiling windows—imagine waking up to sweeping views of Iceland’s dramatic landscapes without even leaving your bed! What made it perfect: - Impeccably clean: The space was spotless, with fresh linens and fluffy towels that made it feel like a luxury retreat. - Tranquil & peaceful: The quiet surroundings ensured a restful sleep, far from the hustle of city life. - Thoughtful touches: Clear instructions were placed in visible spots, making everything from check-in to using amenities effortless. - Shared facilities: The kitchen and bathroom were kept pristine, and the communal vibe added a cozy, hostel-like charm. - Convenient parking: No stress about finding a spot—ample parking right outside. - Blazing-fast WiFi: Perfect for remote work and streaming after a day of adventures. - Mirror suggestion: A full-length mirror in the room would be the cherry on top for practicality. But the real highlight? Our unexpected companions: a mama goat and her two adorable kids! They stayed by our glass door all evening and even lingered into the daytime, adding a whimsical, very Icelandic touch to our stay. Whether you’re chasing the Northern Lights or exploring South Iceland’s wonders, this accommodation is a must-book. It’s rare to find a place that balances comfort, cleanliness, and raw natural beauty so seamlessly. Highly recommended!

While hotels generally in Iceland are poor value, this was the most reasonably priced option I could find in the Hofn area and I was pleasantly surprised. We arrived quite late - just before 10 pm - and while the hotel was slightly tricky to find in the dark, everything was ready for us when we arrived, notwithstanding there was no staff on hand to check us in. The room was comfortable and clean, as was the shared bathroom and kitchen. All necessary pots, plates and utensils were available for guests' use and we made ourselves dinner and breakfast. Wifi was also good. One of the nicest aspects of this hotel is its setting, and the views outside our bedroom window ere very scenic and beautiful.
Although it's not complaint specific to this hotel, I find that you pay a lot for what you get in Iceland and this hotel was no exception, even though it was better value than many other places in the region.

Lovely big room with a good bed. Lots of space in the room and panoramic view. Kitchen well equipped and has a 4 chair dinner table. Location in just betwqeen Höfn and Jokulsarlon, 4km of the ringroad by an easy drivable gravel road.
Shower drain was clogged and that made a big pool of the bathroom. Would have been nice if there was more common space to meet other guests. Price is quite variable . If seen it for ~50 euro and for ~90 euro. For a single traveler 60 euro should be well paid.

The place has 5 rooms with 2 beds (single or double) each, and for those 5 rooms 2 bathrooms and 1 shared kitchen. As we arrived very late we had the kitchen for ourselves, and having two bathrooms for 5 guestrooms did not cause any issue with respect to bathroom/shower availability. I regret not having stayed two instead of one night; it would have allowed us to visit Múlagljúfur Canyon which we missed out on our island roundtrip.
The pans in the kitchen should be replaced, the coating is so much scratched that the pans can hardly be cleaned once used. Otherwise there is plenty of kitchenware and everything needed for cooking a simple and quick meal availalbe (salt, pepper, oil).

The road to the accommodation is a long gravel road, but it is easy to drive. The accommodation was fine. We had a spacious room with excellent beds, a bench and excellent WiFi. It was easy to check in because the names are on the doors and the key is in the lock. There are 2 shared bathrooms, enough for the number of rooms there are. The shared kitchen is fully equipped and you can sit there very comfortably with a view of the beautiful surroundings.
We can't think of anything

Location close to road n1, glaciers, Hofn The huge size of the room and table in each room Very well equipped kitchen 2 bathrooms Comfy and cosy with magnificent views of the mountain
The house is slightly dated and there's detector in the bathroom for light so when I was washing my long hair it went off and I finished showering in the darkness 😅

Location was great, close to a glacier which you can hike right to the base of from the nearby campground. I had the largest room (by far) compared to all the other guesthouses I had stayed in and everything was comfortable and clean. Kitchen had everything I needed. One bathroom seemed to have been recently updated but the other is dated (and shower doesn't drain well).
Common area could use a larger table as there is only one small kitchen table for dining for all guests. Communications from guesthouse came right after booking (in May) and I couldn't recover the information in the email when I arrived in Sept, however, it was pretty straight forward, main door was open and my name was on bedroom door so not really an issue.

We saw the northern lights here. The room we had was roomy and comfortable (double bed which could be separated). Great communication following weather warnings and access to property. Very understanding owner.
The gravel drive is very long, not an issue normally but the wind had created a snow drift which. Despite the fact we had a 4x4 (dacia duster) we got stuck in two snow drifts.

Heating was great , very fast and nice. Comfy bed and big room. The room is really big which is nice and rarely in this area. Had a dining table inside the room with chairs - very nice and big plus. Best thing there was is the incredible view of the glacier tongues from room number 5. Something we did not expect and was a huge incredible surprise.
There weren't door in the kitchen which was uncomfortable since we got late and wanted to make mahe some food and did noise which we afraid probably bothered other guests. Weak shower pressure, a little bummer after a tired day.. could be fixed with a cheap and easy shower head with pressure holes. Also we came late after everyone already showered and the whole shower was wet including the floor towel. There werent any new towels as usually in hostels to wipe the floor or a mop so you could clean after yourself..

Great location, the kitchen had mostly everything one might need in a few days, the spaces were clean and comfy. Our room was the smaller one but was comfy enough and had everything one might need.
I would add another table as with multiple guests there's not enough space to eat, but we tbh made it work anyway.
