I had an amazing stay here everything was just perfect. The staff were incredible, always friendly and welcoming, and the guests created such a good atmosphere too. I originally booked for 3 nights but ended up staying for a 8 because I just didn’t want to leave! The staff really make you feel at home they even remember your name, which adds such a personal touch. Big thanks to Indra, Rio, Wayudi, and Edy for being awesome hosts. The hostel is super clean, with fresh beds every day and a free, tasty breakfast. The pool is great for chilling and the whole place has such cozy, relaxed vibes absolutely perfect for backpackers. I met some amazing people here and would definitely come back!

For a hostel it is already very very clean. But the bathroom tiles can be cleaner.

The hostel is 15 min from the port, the breakfast was enough (not too big though), free water refill. Each bed has its own fan. It's 5 min from the beach where you can enjoy the sunset and a 15 min walk to the sunrise point on the other side of the island. The pool is nice too. Bring your own lock for the lockers

I had to get used to the swinging bed. There's no kitchen access, the hanging beds are quite short - if I slept extended, my feet were outside the mosquito net (I'm 175 cm). My net also couldn't be closed properly as my fan was in the way. The mosque nearby is loud in the morning since there are no windows blocking the noise. Shower and toilets are downstairs, not in the same floor

This was the first hostel I’ve ever stayed in — and it completely exceeded every expectation I had. Any downside was more than made up for by the beauty of the place, the kindness of the staff, and the overall atmosphere. Even though there was no air conditioning, the fan worked perfectly and kept the bed cool during the night. The included breakfast was absolutely delicious — especially the breakfast wrap, which became my favorite way to start the day.

If I really had to point out something that could be improved, it would be the attention to small details here and there. But honestly, the overall experience was so positive that those little things didn’t matter at all.

This was such a gem to stay at for our 5 nights in Gili Air. We stayed in the single swinging beds and didn’t feel there were any problems with privacy as it’s kind of sectioned into rooms anyway. They put on events like cinema nights which was a lovely treat, breakfast was unexpectedly included with limited options, pool and common areas were kept clean and inviting. Really recommend this for any friends, solo travellers or even couples (although maybe you might want the private rooms). We would definitely come back!

The biggest plus point is the lovely pool and chill area outside! It is possible to book a snorkeling trip through them and to have your laundry washed.

We booked the dormitory but got our own bungalow when checking in (assuming we received an upgrade). Turns out it was a mix-up and we were put in the dormitory after all when returning to the hostel at 22 o'clock. While the staff was friendly, we felt it would have been appropriate to offer some kind of compensation (e.g., breakfast) for the confusion. The walls of the shared showers are pretty low, which limits privacy.

The garden and pool area and overall vibe of the place was really nice. Kids specially liked the pool. We stayed in the family room which had two separate bedrooms and living area outside, which was really lovely and nice also when it rained.

The rooms looked really nice but one of the bedrooms which was on the side of the street was really noisy. There is no real windows and all the street noise as well really heavy airconditioning right outside was not really nice. There was one extra small bedroom but we didnt use it in the end as it looked more like a bed in a shed and with no windows and without mosquito nets as other bedrooms. The place has a healthy vegetarian kitchen which was nice but for children there was not much choice for breakfast or the main menu. But there are plenty of places nearby.

Captain coconuts is by far the best stay in Gili Air! It's near the best bars and restaurants of Gili Air (2min walk) but still really peacefull. There are 6 private ' cabans' and there is a bamboo house with beds/dorms but the hotel doesn't have a hostel vibe at all, it's really chill, people are here to relax, to enjoy the lovely surrounding: lovely pool, surrounded by palmtrees! The food is amazing (please try the golden banana balls) & the cocktails are to die for. The service is great too!

The cabans are not 10/10 isolated so it can be warm at night, even with the airco.

We stayed 4 nights at Captain Coconuts Gili Air and absolutely loved it! Only a 3-minute walk to the beach and surrounded by some of the best restaurants on the island. The hotel pool is perfect for relaxing, set in a lovely area full of palm trees. The staff were super polite and helpful. Our room was way bigger than expected, and the whole place had a really chilled, relaxed vibe. The kids had a blast playing with the local cats too! We’ll definitely be coming back next time. 🌴☀️🐾

The layout of the place was a vibe nice pool and sunbaking area and the staff were very accommodating, would definitely recommend

As there’s not much to complain about at all the only thing we found we didn’t enjoy the food for breakfast that much but was included so all all pretty good It is also worth noting that this is a very family friendly hostel so there were lots of families with young kids when we were there.

This is the best place I’ve stayed in the world. It’s my 3rd time here over the past 2 years, I just love it. When I was last here I kept extending as I never wanted to leave! It’s beautiful, the beds are made everyday and really relaxing sleeping in the hanging beds! But the thing that makes this place the best is the staff, they are so lovely, they remember your name and make you feel right at home! Special mentions to Indra, Rhyo, Wayudi, Edy!
