Pauline is the ultimate host - friendly professional and helpful. The property and room were lovely, every detail was catered for and clearly set out. I loved the sustainability focus of this B&B - endeavouring to make a meaningful contribution to reducing waste and it showed at every turn, from the use of towels and mobile charging station to elimination of single serve plastic containers at breakfast (and a comprehensive menu selection choice that catered for every option!), Hawthorn Lodge is a delightful, sustainable place to stay and one that we will be sure to return to. Excellent All Round!

Pauline kept in good communication and gave us a friendly welcome! We had a small twin room at the back of the house which had a lovely view over a lake and was nice and quiet. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had - double-sided A4 of options to choose from the night before to be more sustainable and also a wide choice of locally sourced ingredients through the Created in Cavan initiative. All in all, we had a really lovely stay and it was great to have somewhere safe and dry to store our bicycles overnight.

The room was a bit warm and we couldn't figure out a way of turning down the radiator.

Beautiful Everything is perfectly placed and thought out The breakfast menu was the most detailed I’ve ever seen, and so did not disappoint we highly recommend the Omelette, so big I needed a take away Pauline & her husband were lovely and set up a sweet table for us in the afternoon sun so we could enjoy our wine & cheese The morning Sunrise was breathtaking

Beautiful view from the window and dining room at the garden, lake and nearby fields! Room very comfortable, nicely decorated, all necessities available. Even books were available to read. The host, Pauline, was super nice and very well organised. She gave us good advice regarding events happening in the town. The owners are aiming to make their service as sustainable as possible. Breakfast was made to perfection from local produce. We also had a chance to purchase jam from a local producer. The lodge and vicinity is very quiet.

The host Pauline was so friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our trip better. The views from the B&B were outstanding. The breakfast was amazing. The beds were very comfortable,room was a good size and plenty of supplies in the room for the time required.

The property itself is in a beautiful setting, overlooking a lake. It was spotless clean, very comfortable and Pauline was kind, helpful and accommodating. It was perfect for our short stay. The breakfasts, prepared to order, were excellent.

Beautiful location, house was airy and bright absolutely beautiful. Pauline was very friendly and welcoming. Bedroom was bright and spotlessly clean beautiful linen on beds and they were very comfortable . Breakfast was absolutely first class delicious and nothing was to much trouble for Pauline, we really felt looked after. If you need a b&b in this are I would highly recommend Hawthorn Lodge it was just perfect. Thank you

My stay at Hawthorn Lodge was like home from home. Pauline made me so welcome. Everything was spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. There was so many little touches and attention to detail that made my stay so perfect. The breakfast was delicious and so fresh. Huge compliments and thanks to the family for their hard work and efforts.

The location was nice overlooking a lake and easy to find even though out in the country. Breakfast was unusual in that pre-ordered but still nice. Rooms were very comfortable. The garden is nice and big and would have been lovely if weather had held up and we weren't jet lagged. Coffee in the rooms was appreciated, and good wifi.

Only that as we had some heavy bags, the gravel yard made for a difficult transition from car to room and back.
