We were in town to see Macklemore so location was great. Our room had a wonderful view and the grounds looked great. Had we been staying any longer than overnight, I would have explored the beach etc. Our bed was comfortable and spacious & our room was clean. We had breakfast the next day and had a variety of cold & hot options. Plenty of guest parking too. We will be back.

I didn't like that our trip was so short! There was some renovations happening in rooms nearby but we heard nothing & the workmen were also very pleasant as we passed. I can't say I have any issues.

Our room is gorgeous, beach side, facing the sea. There are 2 seats and a table so you can enjoy the view. The window opens so you get the sea breeze and smells. The room is large and can accommodate our 2 large suitcases and hand luggage. There is an ironing board, iron, kettle and hairdryer.

We were put in the new wing of the hotel and although the room is fabulous (Room 243) and the view is great, we had stairs to climb, which wasn’t great with 2 heavy suitcases. Good thing my husband is strong, because I couldn’t have done that on my own. It’s also a long way from anything and we keep getting lost. Not sure if this will improve once the renovations are complete. Also there is no fridge. We like a milky coffee in the morning and like to buy milk but without a fridge it’s not something we can have. The shower has been put in off set and nearer the glass wall instead of in the middle, which makes you stand off set. Weird.

The hotel lobby and public areas were richly decorated, our room was very comfortable, we even had a view of the bay! The location was perfect, bus stop across the street and train within walking distance. Restaurants, drug store and a market were right across the street. Beach access was easy, just out the back door and across the lawn. Breakfast was very good and the wait staff were superb! Our dinner in the tavern was excellent too, especially the seafood chowder and desserts. We would definitely return, and hope to do so.

At first we had some trouble with turning down the radiator heater and turning the lights on but were promptly helped by staff. The staff there were very responsive and friendly.

The hotel is in a great location for visiting Howth & Dublin. You can also walk out of the back of the hotel onto the beach which was lovely. We really enjoyed the access to the pool & sauna/steam rooms. We also found the breakfast to have a good choice of foods plus we ate in the hotel for our evening meals & the food/service was excellent. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay & would return to the hotel in the future.

The room we stayed in could do with a bit of an up grade but it did not affect the overall enjoyment of our stay.

The hotel is situated directly behind a beach & the view from our room was absolutely stunning! Staff were very helpful & friendly and all areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. Shops and a couple of restaurants were within walking distance, the train station is a short walk away and there is a bus stop directly outside the hotel. The pool is functional, however, the steam room had an awful stench and the sauna was only lukewarm- these facilities would benefit from some modernisation. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, it was very relaxing and we would highly recommend it- we will definitely return at some stage in the future.

I went for a getaway with my girlfriend, and had an absolutely fabulous experience. The hotel location was gorgeous; based right at the sea. It was absolutely stunning to wake up to a gorgeous view. The room was absolutely fabulous and spacious, and we were very surprised by it. It was very good value for 2 nights. The hotel has a swimming pool and a sauna facility too, which was really lovely. I hope to come back in the near future, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good stay.

Food

We have stayed in the Marine 5 or 6 times now, as it's a very convenient location. We always find it a very pleasant stay with helpful staff. However this was by far our most positive experience thanks to an amazing lady at Reception called Fiona who went above and beyond to help myself and my children when we arrived late and tired on a Friday night. Thanks to her efficient and caring help we will definitely return.

It was very hot in the hotel but I think the weather outside was particularly humid that evening.

First class service from staff.( Thanks to Rebecca on reception). Room with sea view was clean and well equipped. Like the added fan for hot weather and the night light in the bathroom. Breakfast was good and porridge supplied on request as well as gluten free bread and soya milk for my intolerance. DART to Howth handy and every 20-30mins so saved driving. Recommend this hotel and will be back.

Would have liked a small fridge in the room to keep water cool for drinking through the night.

First time staying in the Marine Hotel. I stayed for 2 nights - the only suitable room that matched my dates when booking was a Superior Double Room with Sea View with breakfast included. I arrived early (c1pm) and was able to leave my bag in storage. Returned c4pm and was able to check-in. My room (423) was faultless. Breakfast was excellent - buffet of a wide range of hot and cold options. Check out was quick and easy. After check - out I was able to leave my bag in storage while I was out on the final morning. All the staff that I dealt with - both at Reception and in the Breakfast Room - were friendly and helpful. The location is excellent with Sutton Dart station a 5-10 minute walk away. Sutton seemed well serviced with bus options. Howth was a half hour walk away. If I planned to visit the same north Dublin area again then I would happily stay again in the Marine Hotel.

Nothing really springs to mind. I noticed that my room wasn't cleaned or checked after the first night - some hotels do and others don't. Wasn't an issue

We had a fabulous stay at the Marina Hotel. Staff were attentive and nothing was a problem. The food (especially the desserts) was delicious and great value for Ireland. The hotel was spotless, quiet yet lively, with a great atmosphere. Location and views over Dublin Bay and Bull Island were extraordinary, and still close to the city. Highly recommend — excellent hospitality and value for money!
