The decor at this hotel is magical. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday and she got a lovely gift and we got a room upgraded. The room was stunning. The kids didn’t want to leave because the room was so fun to play in, and I really enjoyed relaxing in the room. We also really enjoyed exploring the art and the beautiful secret spaces and the little garden. The breakfast was to die for. The location was really nice too, close to the water, but also near a big grocery store, which helped with picky eaters. We feel most thoroughly spoiled.

There was an event at the hotel on one of the days, and from lunch till late at night there were so many people and there was no place to sit in the public spaces. It was kind of sad we could t explore the property as freely that day. We made up for it the next day though. But it would have been nice to know ahead of time there’s gonna be a long event, so we would have started our day earlier that day. That said, I am still so glad we came.

We were thrilled with the reception staff. Not overwhelmed with a young man in the bar area where we had dinner. Never checked on us and left his shift without a word. Had a lovely lady the next night when we went in for drinks. The staff at the breakfast in the morning where not overly helpful and never brought us coffee the first day. Had to ask the manager after 3 failed attempts to get some. He was amazing and checked on us the next morning to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall we loved our stay. I mean, it's a castle!! Our room was nice and quiet, we asked for robes and feather pillows which were brought up right away. Our room was made while we were at breakfast. We took our hotel given waters with us to head out for the day. Once we returned, we found fresh waters had been resupplied. We would definitely go back. ITS a CASTLE after all.

This was the tail end of our two-week stay in Ireland. After a string of lower comfort lodgings, coming to the Clontarf Castle was a real treat with a comfortable bed, a quiet relaxing stay, and supportive staff. We greatly appreciated that even though our clothing felt out of place with the high quality of appearances, the staff treated us equally and politely!

Our room ended up being above the second floor bar and coming in on a Saturday night we could hear the hum of the party below us. While not terrible (great insulation between floors), it was felt with the sub woofers thumping.

We loved the room and the overall hotel decor! Our bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was perfect, and the view was magical with the castle and water view. We also really enjoyed the onsite restaurants (especially for lunch/dinner)—especially the caramel cheesecake!

I would have loved some additional breakfast options for American-style breakfast, such as an omelet station or pancakes (the scrambled eggs were very runny). The other suggestion would be to add a small marketplace area at the hotel where you can quickly purchase snacks/drinks, this would have helped a lot.

The Clontarf Castle is a most luxurious hotel to stay in. It is perfect. We have stayed in this beautiful castle and from the moment you step inside, the reception staff Robert is a gentleman and ever so pleasant, staff in knlights bar exceptionally nice Elaine and Louise what a welcome, smiling and chatty really nice ladies. Our room was fabulous, immaculate and wonderful decor as it is throughout the hotel, loved the artwork adorning the Castle walls. This hotel is what everyone expects from a hotel stay, lovely place, nice atmosphere and ambience, comfortable and luxurious with lovely staff enhancing your stay.

Bar staff in knights bar were a little disorganised and some of the glasses had lipstick on them, also heard another customer complaining in regard to this. It appeared to be an inconvenience to have cocktails made at one point. Waitress was slightly rude so we opted out of eating there. A table tab was started which we hadn’t agreed to mid way through for drinks (we had been paying cash at the bar ) although another younger waitress sorted this out and was apologetic for the error. However everything else was fine and the rest of the staff elsewhere were more than polite and friendly.

Staff was exceptional. Very responsive throughout our stay. Vijay at reception was especially wonderful. We lost a cell phone on the train. Vijay was compassionate about our dilemma and relentless in making contact with Irish Rail (Dart) on a Sunday night. His efforts paid off, not only tracking down our lost phone but also negotiating its safe return to the hotel that night.

We chose not to dine at the hotel. We were unable to find restaurant menus through the in-room video and therefore could not easily determine if there was a continental breakfast option. We were offered breakfast with our room, but at the added cost of roughly $20/person, it was more than we needed.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very helpful.

I originally had a deluxe double for my room. I requested an extra bed for my daughter. The hotel "told" me they upgraded me to a family suite. We were very excited. When we got to our room, we were so disappointed. It looked like a room you would get at a Holiday Inn. It was very cramped. We saw one of the double room suites. It was exactly what the pictures looked like. We would have loved to stay in one of those rooms and an extra bed would have fit just fine. Instead what we got, for the price was very disappointing and made our stay there less than enjoyable.

Clontarf Hotel was just perfect! The Staff, the food, the room, the bar, Breakfast was just perfect. Felt at home the minute we checked in! Robert at the Desk checked us in and we decided to extend our stay two extra days for a total of three days!! Highly recommend this hotel! Free parking was a bonus and I always have the breakfast included!!!

We liked everything. There were 3 weddings, One on Thursday, one on Friday, and One on Saturday. The only one which was Friday was a bit of a high base music so If I were to say anything to the hotel I would monitor that cause we were going on a hike in houth the next morning and it did not end until 12:05.

Our stay was everything we hoped and so much more, but I can’t even begin to express what a wonderful hotel this is. This is a luxury hotel experience where their attentive care to guests happens at every step. Even after you leave. I left my wedding ring on the bathroom sink and only realized when I was at the airport. After a quick call and a 30 minute wait they called me back saying they could not find it. That is more any reasonable person could ask for, but when I landed, I received an email informing me that their staff found it. Turns out they checked twice (unprompted!) and found it on the second try. This hotel is the envy of anyone who we’ve shown it to - even before we left. I’ve been asked by several people where this is and how in the world we found it. The pictures online simply do not do it justice. It made our stay in Dublin unforgettable. Their breakfast buffet is delightful, and so much care and effort was put in the design of the hotel and the guest experience. From the adorable illustrations that honour the history of the castle, to comprehensive booklets, to a tour of their impressive art collection, to the design of the rooms. You will not regret staying here! If the location is a concern, we didn’t have a car, and found walking to nearby places and cabs downtown was perfect. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a cab. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. We definitely see ourselves coming back!
