Pipito was very nice, friendly, and welcoming. I really admired the way he explained how to use everything in our room, including the key and door. The room was very clean, vintage, and spectacular. We also appreciated the complimentary items. The only downside was that the hotel has no elevator, but they did carry our luggage for us, which was helpful

No elevator

Hotel San Gallo is a unique boutique style hotel, inconspicuous on the outside but very quaint and comfortable. Best of all, the location is in the heart of the San Marco district a few hundred steps from San Marco Square. Staff is incredible, and very helpful with answers you have about navigating around the city and various districts and waterways. If needed, there is a morning breakfast if purchased separately. Coffee and tea in the rooms. Comp water and a wet bar if desired. There is also a very relaxing rooftop terrace. Food and drink are everywhere in Venice, as well as its famed Italian Gelato. There are no cars, and everything transportation is done by walking or watercrafts. There are many bridges over the canals that involve many steps up and down, as well as in buildings. Be ready for exercise!

Nothing really. Venice is unique and very popular, and the best thing you can do is go with the flow. Venice's charm, architecture and old-world history make for endless adventures and discoveries. Stay open to surprise sights and experiences.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel San Gallo. The location couldn’t be better—quiet and tucked away, yet only a 2-minute walk to St. Mark’s Square or the waterfront. There are a couple of great restaurants right next door, and the whole area felt quaint and safe, even while traveling alone. The hotel greeted me with a lovely welcome note and snacks, which was such a thoughtful touch. The building itself is historic, and that’s part of the charm—this is not a typical American-style hotel, nor should it be. It’s a piece of Venice’s history, and I loved the character that comes with that. I travel often, and there was truly nothing I would complain about here. If you want a central, authentic Venetian stay with great hospitality, I’d highly recommend it.

I would definitely stay again at Hotel San Gallo because of the reasonable price and location. Sebastiano was an excellent host and provided the very best recommendations for restaurants. Sebastiano also gave great ideas for visiting the museums and Murano island.

The room was cozy (a bit small), but that is expected in Venice.

Location is most excellent! just 2 minutes walk - and you are on the San Marco Piazza! The room was delightful with silky fabric on the walls and Murano glass chandeliers. Thoughtful to the very small detail - including a bath robe and the spa slippers, little chocolates. Individual heating/AC unit. Renovated bathroom. This was the quietest room I've ever stayed in! Most delightfully friendly staff

The hotel is on a second floor, there is no elevator. Could be a bit of a problem with the heavy luggage. Luckily member of staff helped me to carry my suitcase upstairs. Hot water was not immediately available. Had to let it run for a while. A little inconvenience, but not a biggie

A strategic location just a breeze (2 minutes on foot) from Piazza San Marco and Palazzo Ducale, this lovely hotel surpasses positively every expectation a discerning traveler may have and goes beyond through the exceptional guidance of * * mister Vito * * , the best professional hotelier, by his caring instructions you are going to navigate all of Venice's charms like a local in no time! The apartment is very well insulated with constant heating and hot water 24/7, bed was the most comfortable I've slept through ages and the tasteful decoration of the room really sets up the vibe for a true Venetian outlook! Definitely recommended and a guaranteed 10' experience.

Everything the rooms were very comfortable. The staff was amazing, especially Vito, he went above and beyond to help us with our luggage and plans for the evening, even offering to make reservations for us for dinner. He also went helped us with our water taxi to the train station carrying most of our luggage as he escorted us all the way to the water taxi. The place was very clean and very secure. They’re a beautiful rooftop area.!!! The location was perfect.

Nothing it was excellent!

I had a wonderful experience thanks to the polite and helpful staff. Mr. Juliano at the reception was exceptionally kind and went out of his way to assist me he not only explained everything clearly but also guided me on the best tours to take and how to manage transportation efficiently. He helped me with my laugage even after the checkout as my flight was late at night which allowed me to spend the whole day without worrying about it. His support made my stay much smoother and more enjoyable. Truly grateful!

Excellent location, clean and very functional

No elevator service to upper floors. Also, when checking in, one might take luggage all the way upstairs and then have to go back down to enter other door and climb again. Should be a clear notice to NOT take luggage up while checking in

Hotel San Gallo is located in a safe place a walking distance from Piazza San Marco and there are many restaurants and stores nearby. Our room was clean and big enough for 3 and we appreciate the welcome plate of fruits, chocolates and bottled water. We cannot say anything about the breakfast as we did not avail of it. The bathroom was big and has the amenities we needed, Staff were helpful to recommend restaurants and they even lent us extra adaptors for our cellphone chargers,

As with old buildings located in the town center, it has no elevator but the staff is ready to help us carry our luggage up to our rooms.
