This hotel is a grand space in a perfect location. It's a glorious mixture of traditional and modern, offering just about anything and everything you might want or need (except no pool). We had a spacious room with plenty of amenities, snacks, etc. VERY comfortable, quiet, and beyond expectation. It was a total pleasure in every way. The attentive staff was welcoming, helpful, and always ready to answer questions about transit options, restaurants, shops, etc. My husband and I were treated like visiting royalty and loved every moment. Our room included FREE breakfast daily--a bountiful buffet of fresh and healthy options to start each busy day. We were able to borrow adapters to enable us to charge all our electronics, and felt totally safe coming and going. If /when we return to London, we'd absolutely stay at Kimpton Fitzroy.

The staff are absolutely brilliant. I read several reviews saying the same thing and my experience was nothing short of impressive. Everyone was extremely helpful, polite and welcoming. A 12pm checkout is very generous and we really appreciated the extra time in the morning. Breakfast was perfect - had seen a few reviews that worried me, but there wasn’t anything to complain about. The rooms, although small are extremely comfortable and the furnishings are carefully thought out and really beautiful! You can hear a bit of noise from below in the park facing rooms (especially loud if it’s an ambulance) but as a light sleeper I wasn’t that bothered! The view also makes up for it!

I thought it was a bit strange that cocktails weren’t available before 5pm, unless in Burr (the cafe). We were given the option to order from the room service menu and bring it down to the lobby but we wanted to drink in a bar. It turned out well as we went in search for one, allowing us to explore the area. We later visited Fitz and it was worth the wait!

A warm welcome, lovely staff who were very engaging and always helpful. A comfortable room with a lovely spacious bathroom. For us, a perfect location. A beautiful hotel, very clean. This was a first visit for us and we would definitely return.

Breakfast was just ok. On one occasion we had to queue and were directed through to the bar for self service coffee but there were no cups available. Lazy preparation of melon (rind left on), only one flavour of jam on offer, ‘toast’ was just like warm bread, hardly toasted at all. Breakfast was included with the booking but I wouldn’t opt for this again. After returning to the hotel one night we would have liked to relax in the palm court area however we were not permitted access due to a private function - there was no one there. On our last evening we looked forward to dining in Galvin however we were informed it was only open for lunch. So we went to Burr instead and were told many of the items were not available as the menu was changing the next day so choice was limited.

Hotel is beautiful and staff are fantastic...went out of their way to make us feel special.

The facilities in the premium x2 double was not as good as expected. Weird sofa and table area tucked behind a wall. No place to put your keys/wallet as you come in so kept loosing it, no desk for laptop which makes working tricky. For £500 a night would expect those kinds of things, but the room was lovely.

Can’t fault, beautiful room, suite had a huge bath over looking the Russell Square gardens. Comfy and clean. Loved the attention to detail like a knitted tea cosy on the teapot. Cute little social hour at the bar with free drinks and nibbles. Just really well thought about for an enjoyable stay. Pillows 10/10 for once which seems to be rarity at other hotels.

Nothing really, if I had to nitpick then it was just the mattress you could feel a little wear if the other person got out of bed. Like I say I’m nitpicking. Oh and no hand cream in the bathroom, which was a bit annoying.

*Room - good size for single room, very comfortable bed. Coffee machine, tea kettle and fridge refilled daily was bonus. Very clean *Location - Piccadilly line tube station around the corner with direct access from Heathrow, also has step free access a bonus with luggage. Walking distance to Euston and Kings Cross/St Pancras train stations. Many sights and other tube stations are within walking distance also. *Staff - every staff member (apart from 1) was super friendly and helpful. Offered late check out and stored bags before overnight train. *Breakfast - was fantastic. Many hot and cold buffet options plus fresh made items and drinks. *Building - lovely historic building next to Russell Square. Many areas to lounge downstairs. All areas were immaculately clean.

My only negative was the bathroom was small (which is expected) but it was also poorly designed as the toilet was in a weird location and meant you were half under the sink when sitting. Not very comfortable and if you were taller/bigger likely not very useable.

Beautiful 5 star hotel in the heart of London. Elegant rooms, great facilities.

The overall service in the bars and restaurants was somewhat disappointing for a 5-star hotel. The restaurant hostess was rather abrupt, and during breakfast, the staff seemed more focused on chatting among themselves (we overheard complaints about work) than attending to guests. Some tables remained uncleared for longer than expected. At the bar, while the staff was friendly, they were a bit too insistent on pushing us to order more. We understand that service in the hospitality industry has been declining, but this level of service is not what one would expect from a hotel of this caliber.

Personalisation - note and cake in room for our celebration. Very friendly check in - offered water when i had to wait a few minutes for a member of staff to be free Room was lovely and very clean - beds very comfy Bar area very nice - great atmosphere

Only negatives 3 people were staying in the room but there were only 2 x robes, 2 x cup etc Also - the kettle could not safely be plugged in anywhere as there were no accessible plugs and the wire wasn't long enough And no outdoor area for a drink

The hotel was in a convenient location with the tube station just around the corner. The rooms were clean and we were delighted to be able to book a family room for myself and my 2 daughters.The beds and pillows were so comfortable. The bar was classy and welcoming.

I felt the room could have had a bit better decor. Quite plain . The bathroom was a good size but nowhere to put my make up or a shaving mirror for close up checks! You could request one but I think there should always be one in a bathroom. Also no towel rail by the sink. The members of staff standing at the entrance could have been a bit more professional.

Our stay began well when Marina checked us in. She was friendly, professional, and helpful. It was so nice to be made to feel welcome. As it was our first visit to London, we made use of the concierge desk almost daily. Sean and Joseph were especially helpful. Late night room service was a most welcome and useful benefit. The food at Fitz's was outstanding. The Kimpton Fitzroy is conveniently located at Russell Square adjacent to the Underground station and not far from King's Cross Railway station.
