The location is great! Few blocks from Russel Square underground and from Euston station. Plenty of buses line around too. Staff is nice. Room and bathroom clean and comfortable. I recommend this hotel!
Not so great sound proofing, you can hear conversations from other rooms. If you are a light sleeper that might be a problem.

The hotel is located in a nice and quiet area with several tube stations within walking distance. The room was a bit small but still very comfortable. Great staff both in the reception, in the bar and in the breakfast restaurant. Excelent breakfast with plenty of items to choose from. Highly recommended.
Nothing really apart from that the room was quite hot and we couldn't adjust the temperature of the radiator. We had to sleep with the window open which is a waste of energy and not very sustainable.

We arrived by Eurostar at St. Pancras International station, which is within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is nicely situated opposite a little park. Breakfast was very good, so much choice, complete English breakfast, little (chocolate) croissants, buns, fresh fruits, different kinds of yogurts and cereals, toasted bread, all kinds of coffees and of course tea. Me and my 18-year-old son stayed for 4 days, the metro stations are near the hotel (an 8-minute walk), bus stations are closer by, and we actually saw almost everything we wanted to see in London.
Just one small remark about the bathroom. The shower is in the bath, which is quite small to stand in.

Tavistock Hotel was my home in London for 8 days, and I truly loved it. The area is fantastic, I felt safe walking around, even at night. It’s very close to Euston and St Pancras stations, which made getting around super easy. Check-in was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a room with a lovely street view, which really improved my experience. The room itself was simple but had everything I needed. It was comfortable, always clean, and quiet, just close the window and you won’t hear any street noise. Breakfast was varied, and the staff at the reception and in the dining area were always kind and polite. Everyone at the hotel was genuinely friendly and helpful, which made me feel even more at ease as a solo traveler. The location is also great for walking — Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street are nearby, and there are plenty of parks and public transport options around. It’s a student-friendly area, so I felt comfortable and welcome as a young traveler. If you’re traveling solo, especially for the first time in London, I definitely recommend this hotel. It made my trip feel easy, safe, and enjoyable.

Great location to Euston for transport. Lovely ☺️ staff and front foyer.
Bathrooms very small, climbing in & out of shower may be a problem for some as in bathtub. I have two knee replacements.

Although clearly quite an old and slightly dated building (it doesn’t look particularly smart from the outside), the bedroom and bathroom were both very clean and quite spacious. We were upgraded to a king size bed which really was huge and very comfortable. There was a kettle with plenty of tea & coffee plus a small table with two chairs. Brilliant shower. Very powerful. Would definitely use again if travelling by Eurostar - a 15 minute walk away. Staff were all extremely obliging and friendly.
Minor point but beware the water in the bathroom. The cold comes out as hot for quite a while. You have to run it for ages until you get cold water for cleaning teeth!

WE stayed 3 nights , The hotel was very nice when we arrived. Once we got to our room we were horrified , the toilet didn't flush , the bathroom sink was in front of the toilet and you couldn't sit , the power for my CPAP was at the TV end of the room so a EXT cord was strung across, We were thinking of losing our money and leaving. My wife went and spoke to the front desk and we got moved to a fantastic room , everything was perfect . By day two we were GOLDEN, WE loved the hotel and would stay again. My lesson is immediately go to the desk and ask for a better room if the one you get is less than acceptable. The Hotel Staff was fantastic and our second room was great. The Hop on Hop Off bus is around the corner and the tube station a few blocks away . We will surely stay here again. I would suggest this as a great place to stay in London
The First room was a bummer but once we asked for another room we were very happy , our fault for waiting till the second day . From now on we will look at the room and request a change if needed sooner than day two

The bed wasn't very big but it was very comfortable for us with very very, indeed, comfortable pillows,. The breakfast was very good and plentiful with many choices and very smiley faces. Even though the breakfast area was huge there were times we had to wait to be seated which it is understandable as the hotel was full of guests. The area around the hotel was pretty nice and very close to two main stations the Euston station which takes you to Gatwick airport and the Russell Square station which takes you to many main sightseeings.
The lack of air condition in the room as well as in the corridors (there were times that after exiting the lifts and while entering our room it felt like being in a sauna, extremely hot and humid). Lack of a fridge which it would have helped us a bit when we had to deal with the high temperatures inside the room. There was a small portable fan inside the room but we had to request for a second one as the temperatures were unbearable. It is very peculiar that there was a water cooler (on the 7th floor) right outside the main lifts but it was not connected to electricity and the water was hot!!!!! The hotel definitely needs an immediate renovation at least to comply with the days of high temperatures.

Beds super comfy. Shower pressure wonderful. Staff very responsive & friendly, but they have to Google any questions we had regarding tours, tourist destinations, subway directions (no TUBE maps), restaurant recommendations, etc. Hotel is within easy walking distance to both Russell Square and Euston Station for TUBE access. Located in University neighborhood. Maid service excellent.
Concierge service would be very helpful. Even just a rack of tourist brochures would be helpful. No ice machines, have to ask for ice at the bar downstairs.

We really enjoyed staying here. The hotel is in a superb location looking out on Tavistock Square, with Euston station about five minutes walk, and King’s Cross - St Pancras about fifteen minutes. Plenty Underground lines within easy reach, and a lot of cultural attractions like the British Museum and British Library too. It felt like a relatively safe place to walk back to at night. The lobby is a beautiful Art Deco space, and the rooms have similar Art Deco-ish details. Our room looked out into a courtyard and roofs below. There was an extractor fan below which ran all night, but personally I’d rather have that sort of constant “white noise” than the intermittent noise of vehicles/ sirens/ voices in the street. The room was small but had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was powerful and hot. There was also a bath, which was an unexpected bonus! The room was very warm, even with the heating off and window open, but a desk fan had been provided. All staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good, with hot items kept fresh and nicely presented. There was a good selection of continental items including meat, cheese, fruit and mini pastries. Hot drinks were self service from a machine. Breakfast is served until 10am, which is useful for slow-paced holidaymakers!
The price is relatively steep for what you get, but that’s the nature of staying in central London and certainly not unique to this hotel. Some more staff at breakfast might have been helpful - those there were working very hard and a few times necessities like cutlery had run out. Noting mostly for the benefit of any hotel staff reading this: housekeeping changed our towels every day although we’d hung them up, as instructed, to signify we were happy to keep them. Of course this wasn’t a problem for us, but it would help out your eco-credentials not to do this!
