The bathrooms are a tight fit, but then again consider the fact that these hotel owners go to great lengths to preserve the former Burton Crescent's, Avonmore Hotel's original history...

The hotel is in an excellent location, very near Russell Square tube station. I walked from the hotel to Leicester Square in less than fifteen minutes. The British Museum is five or so minutes' walk away. My room overlooked the quiet "square" (actually a semi-circle), which was very quiet apart from the birdsong and the thwack of tennis balls. The room was small, but perfectly adequate and clean. Remember that this is not a purpose built hotel, it's a converted Georgian/early Victorian townhouse, so all the rooms will have their quirks. I did't see a lift, so this is something to bear in mind if you have mobility issues - the stairs are quite narrow and steep. The 24-hour reception gave me a sense of security, and the receptionists were very polite and efficient.

The room was advertised as including breakfast, although breakfast is not served at the hotel. This was made clear on booking, so I was prepared for that when I arrived. There are many cafes, etc in the surrounding streets, so plenty of places to find breakfast. The rooms are not particularly well sound-proofed, but again, this is an old building which has been converted, so keep that in mind. Noise from the adjacent room was only an issue on one night of my three-night stay, and even then did stop at a reasonable time.

Well kept, clean and comfortable room in a quiet location just a few minutes walk from Euston and St Pancras. The hotel does not do breakfast but one of London's best breakfast spots is two minutes walk away on Sandwich Street.

Stairs are steep and there's no lift or level access, so people with restricted mobility may not find this hotel suitable.

The person at the front desk was very friendly and nice. I also felt like the room was secure. I liked how there was an interior lock on the door that only I could open from the inside - that made me feel very safe as a single traveler. The location was excellent - separated enough from the city and thus a little bit quieter than busy areas but close enough for sightseeing to be within walking distance. Close to shops and great places to eat, 10 minute walk from kings cross.

Noise travels pretty easily in this hotel - but it wasn't that big a deal for me. I could hear conversations from the surrounding rooms and hallways, but I knew that would happen from previous reviews, so it wasn't surprising.

It is a 5 minute walk from King’s Cross station, where we were stranded on a very cold night, when our train was cancelled. It was a last minute booking at a very reasonable price. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were spotless, the bedroom was lovely and warm.

Unfortunately the bathroom was very cold, especially the tiled floor.

Loved everything about this hotel. Easy walk from the station after a long journey and in a beautiful Edwardian square, trees and park. The hotel itself is bijou, full of character and colour. I loved how they used the space to make a comfortable room with shower and desk and bed, everything you need, with the high ceilings and tall windows and balconies. Warm colours of gold and red, a lovely hot Grohe shower and one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. The staff were friendly and 24 hour and I woke up to tennis players outside in the park. Some might call it "dated" but it's clearly built to last, durable, solid, sturdy and secure. A gorgeous building in a wonderful location and the price is outstanding. I've already booked to return.

There is NOTHING I didn't like! I would only like to explore more.

Clean, friendly staff, comfortable bed, everything you need.

It is very well located near to train stations such as St. Pancracs International, Euston (from where you can take a train to Warner Bros Harry Potter studios) and Kings Cross. There are nice pubs and restaurants in a walking distance and you can easily reach a city centre from here. Staff is amazing, very kind and helpful if you need any advice or help. It feels very safe and cozy in the hotel room. Everything was as it should be and I was absolutely satisfied with the stay. Thank you 😊

The only small thing was that you can hear a bit of noise from the street through the window. But it was nothing big, the streets were usually quiet during the night.

The staff were super friendly, and any question I had was answered, and every request I made taken care of immediately. I had them leave my room alone and only clean it when I requested it in the morning on my way out, and they always made sure it was done.

I loved being on the top floor, but people with difficulty with narrow stairs (and no elevator) would obviously have issues with that bit. Similarly, I was fine with an open window, but during London's heatwave some people might have needed aircon

Room was clean and comfortable, and central heating was working well on a very cold day! I was given a free upgrade to a larger room, which was much appreciated. The hotel is centrally and conveniently located, in a relatively quiet Georgian garden crescent, and although small, has more 'character' than modern hotels - I like to stay in Cartwright Gardens when I come to London. The free wi-fi worked well.

It would have been nice if the hotel offered breakfast. The hotel is relatively small, and upper staircases for example are a little cramped, but that's unavoidable in a 'period building' such as this. Not such a good view from the back, but rooms at the front would have a nice view of the crescent.
