Location very close to Harry Potter studio. Very nice staff. I was worries we would hear some noise from the pub but it was absolutely quiet in the room.

Parking was a bit of trouble as there is no separate spaces for hotel residents and we didn’t have a spot to park our car after a trip as pub was full of people and all spaces was taken. And as it’s almost London all other side streets were permit holders only.. good thing is lovely manager of the pub moved one of the cars so we had spot and they just blocked us as we weren’t leaving again that night. Other thing there was only decaf coffee in the room. I would also if possible add at least one each on the bed soft pillows as the current one was really big and thick and firm as brick 😂

Having to change room within 30mins of arriving as tv didn't work AND being told you can have new room only for 2 nights then you must move to different room SO after 2 nights packed case ready to move, went to bar to find which room I was being moved to , Only to find bar locked up, so put key in box and case in car, ready to go, got to front car park only to find that the lights now on inside ,so went back In and spoke to Manager who promptly said oh no you're staying in the same room, we're not moving you now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COMMUNIfCATION , that's right , you've read it correctly. THERE IS NO " F " IN COMMUNICATION !!!!!!!

The staff were really lovely, we stayed on a Tuesday so the pub was pretty quiet we also treated ourselves to breakfast which was delicious! the area is pretty quiet so had a nice night's sleep too. we arrived quite late in the afternoon and were looked after by the GM and she couldn't have been more friendly and let us borrow a fan for the night, because we arrived quite late they kitchen was closing soon after our check in and she gave us recommendations and advice for local take aways and rough timings for deliveries/distances from the room to help us gauge our choice for the evening meal.

we had the ensuite room which I absolutely LOVED! Although being 6ft 7 I banged my head on the door frame to the bathroom a quiet a few times, whilst being sat up in bed watching TV I also wacked my head on the daydo rail above the bed too, these are not fault of the establishment whatsoever I'm just clumsy 😅 and I'm sure whoever's reading this will get a laugh from that haha

I liked the location. 5min walk to Watford Junction Station. Parking facilities good. Nice clean room, stayed in room 7 near the toilet and didn't get disturbed by anything. Lovely sleep greatly appreciated the two pillows. Nice to have cups and tea and coffee in the room. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Shared toilet and no clear pricing of the breakfast. Would have been nice to have it written down somewhere in the room with the times and breakfast prices. Would have been good to have some cafinated coffee sachets.

A lovely warm welcome from Jack, his instructions were very clear and helpful, he showed me to the rooms (I stayed in No3) single room at back of hotel so was very peaceful, no noise heard from the pub downstairs which was fantastic, the room had its own shower so really it’s only the toilet I had to share which was in a spectate location and it was absolutely fine. The Southern cross was easy to find with ample parking. Food was good and great value. Room was clean with comfortable bed

The staff were all very friendly and the rooms were perfect for what we needed. Was surprised to have a separate shower and sink in our room, nice touch. Also the restaurant was great and helped me out with my fussy eater child for breakfast too. Couldn't have asked for more

Shared bathroom, someone clearly doesn't know that they should take their towels back out the bathroom as I didn't like having to stand on it and to move it out the way as it was dumped on the floor but that's the other guests that were visiting, nothing to do with the staff and room.

Room layout was very cozy. TV in the room. Sockets above the bed nearby were useful. Kettle and coffee/tea are provided in rooms. Very quiet although it overlooks the main road. Would stay again as ideal for work trip.

Shower gel dispenser in ensuite shower room and Liquid soap dispenser near sink constantly fell off the walls, ended up having to remove it in order to use the product. Not a smart TV, was a little outdated, basic freeview. Shared toilets only which were down the corridor, however, they were clean.

The room I chose was with no private bathroom. However the room was very comfortable, clean, and the shared WC room was very clean too. I actually had my own shower and sink which was great, so the only think I was sharing was actually the toilet. The bed was very comfortable and I was pleased with my stay. Staff was also helpful and flexible with the check in which really helped.

Amazing staff, special thanks to Melissa! The property is great for a short-term stay, a few minutes walking distance from Watford Junction. The room was small but well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Although the bathroom is shared, the room had a small private shower and a sink, which made all the difference.

Sound isolation could be better but this also largely depends on the other guests’ behaviour and not so much on the property itself.

I stayed here in a single room as I was spending the weekend in the Watford area with my brother (he also stayed). The location for me was perfect for easy walking access into town. Food was gorgeous and the bar staff and waiting staff etc were so friendly and helpful. Being a woman staying on her own I felt very safe on the premises and in my room. Its a shame there is not a toilet in the room as this was the only thing (being a lone woman traveller) that I would of liked. However I did notice that room 7 was in a good location and tucked away with easier access to a bathroom and toilet so perhaps this is something I may request when I stay again. The Southern Cross is a great location for meeting up with my family and very cost effective meaning we can stay more than one night. Looking forward to our next meet up.

Just would of been nice to have my own toilet but purely for lone traveller purposes. As said before room 7 may be a good option to offer in these circumstances.
