Great price, good location, very kind and helpful staff, nice bar.

Pity that room didn’t have any table for small things or jacket hanger. Some people were loud almost whole night which was annoying.

It is my first time visit to Generator. 1st, the location is perfect. is located between Euston and King's Cross Station 👍. 2nd, reception is polite and good manner aspecially Nabi who's the reception in front of the desk when I arrived at 14:36 on 13th September. The way he introduced is good and polite. But, after the morning. the different morning shift at 7:49 am on 14th September. the reception is the lady and she is very rude. 3rd, Shower room need to be fix up and please provide the hanger for clothes for shower. Thank you. I would like to come again next month!

The Lady reception in the morning on 14th September 2025 Sunday at 7:49am is not professional and rude. I am prefer for lower desk bed and not upper desk bed. 2nd, the Shower room the end of the room 106 need to be fix. Additionally, please putting some hanging clothes on the shower room if possible. I will come again next month.

The room was nice enough and clean. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the duvet was really warm. The shower was actually quite good, just a bit awkward to change clothes, but mostly I just left my clothes hanging on the door and nothing got wet. There are a lot of good places to eat around, and there is a Waitrose nearby if you just want to get a meal deal.

You don't have a space to eat food from outside. I knew they didn't have a kitchen, but I didn't realise you couldn't eat anywhere in the hostel. The entire up area is for their restaurant, which is an alright restaurant and they don't charge absurd amounts, but if you want to eat anything from outside, you can't (and some of their staff will be quite rude when telling you this). It ended up with a lot of people sneaking food into the bedrooms, which is also not good.

I liked the style of the main hall (bar, breakfast, games, sitting area), there were good vibes, this place definitely isn't boring. I stayed in the female only dorm and it was a good choice - the price was a bit higher than for the mixed ones - but the female only was a quieter place. Clean room, I also liked that there were plenty of spacious lockers (bring your own luggage padlock/number lock!). The cleaning staff did regularly take care of the rooms and bathroom/toilettes. Some people weren't clean - I mean the guests - so keeping the areas clean was a challenge sometimes... At the reception very nice staff. Overall a pleasant experience. Excellent location. Only 6-minute walk to the British museum, 8-minute walk to the Regent's Canal.

Some of the guests were loud, partied till 2-3am... well, that's not exactly something the Generator can influence. But there was enough staff present to feel safe. There were some issues with unclean areas and maintenance issues (I had to move to a different room mid-stay) but thinking at the numbers/amount of people staying there every night, no wonder there are always some issues the staff needs promptly to react to. For me, the positive clearly outweighed the negative

Overall, it was a nice experience. The rooms are really big and spacious, there are lockers under the beds, USBs by the beds for charging phones and sockets in different parts of the room. The bar is also a plus. Realy good showers. The location is the greatest advantage, walking-distance to several public transport options (bus and underground) and points of interest, such as The British Library and The British Museum, safe area.

On the downside, two of the four sinks in the female bathroom were out of order and some doors to the bathroom cubicles were not in a good state. I was first placed in a room that was adjacent to the downstairs smoking area and couldn't stay there because I have respiratory problems, but I was immediately moved into another room when I mentioned that to staff. I have also missed a kitchen to make my own meals, but the bar serves some food and there are good options around.

The staff were friendly and helped sort out any issues I had, especially Elvira. The rooms were airy and light, and there was plenty of room to put away my things. I appreciated the dedicated smoking area and the karaoke! It's central London so close to absolutely everything, I barely had to use public transport in almost three weeks. I was very happy to see there's a launderette on site so didn't have to lug my laundry elsewhere, and it was very cheap compared to most places.

There are almost no electric outlets near the beds so I wasn't able to plug in my laptop when I wanted to work, the only available electricity were the USBs attached to the beds. The luggage storage lockers also seem to have overcharged me for the time I used according to the prices displayed and wouldn't accept a card to open the locker, only coins (sorted out at reception, though).

The bar area was busy and full. Mainly young people. Service was prompt . Generator’s drinks 🍺 prices for a pint reflects London’s pub prices . The hostel accommodates not just young people but family groups. There is no age restriction on older guests booking in . There are ample pre paid luggage 🧳 lockers which are convenient to use. The breakfast was good with a choice of hot and cold buffets. There are cares and eateries close by on Tavistock St and Judd Street . Good bookshops too.

As far as I could see there are no shower blocks or cubicles. I saw no signs indicating any shower facilities. Myself and other guests staying in shared dormitories on the basement floor had to use the sink next to the shared toilet area. There was a small sink in the dormitory room .

It‘s a dynamic, lively and well designed place at a very well thought out price point in a great part of town. We went as a family of three and got a four bed room without an extra tenant, the room was tight but worked well for us, the bunk beds are comfortable and we liked the view. I’d definitely come again.

The tradeoff for the low price point is of course the communal bathroom, you don’t know where to hang your clothes for a shower, once the toilet paper had run out, nothing tragic, just something you have to know going in. The one elevator has to do a lot of work for all those floors and number of guests, some wait times. Still good though on balance.

This was honestly a great place to stay and certainly worth its value. The location is amazing, the beds were really comfortable and the dormitory I was in had a lot more space than anticipated! There was also a vanity to do your makeup or skincare with a mirror and everything, which was an added bonus. I did also really like that Generator London has a desk that sells things like toothbrushes and tooth paste, as well as free sanitary products. The common area was also pretty spacious and lively, though I barely used it during my one night stay there. The bed was also comfortable and check-in and check-out was quick and easy. The staff member who greeted me when I arrived was really nice too. The hostel is also located pretty close to Kings Cross station, so it's pretty central. There are also a few shops and food places nearby, about a two-minute walk, so there is quick access if you desperately need to pick anything up. Overall, I think this is a great place to stay if you want something cheap and cheerful without all the frills and fuss if you're only spending a night or two in London.

The toilet facilities were not the best. About two of the four toilets did not flush properly or at all, and one of those toilets was, in fact, out of action during the time of my stay, meaning there was only one toilet that worked properly. The facilities themselves did not seem that clean either, though I am aware they are cleaned at least once a day. By the time I arrived, though, the toilets certainly didn't smell pleasant. More than anything, my main disappointment was in the fact that only one of the toilets seemed to work properly at the time.

It’s a great place if you like socializing, they have a big bar downstairs and prices are reasonable I think. They sell drinks and food too. I think if you book through booking you can spin a roulette and win like free towel or beers and other things, I got a free drink so was a nice welcome. Staff super friendly and helpful. Location ain’t super central but ain’t too bad either, is like a 15 min walk to kings cross. Bathrooms looked clean.

Is missing some privacy curtains on the beds and doesn’t have a kitchen so in that sense doesn’t help either the budget. I stayed only 1 night so wasn’t really a problem for me
