Great price, good location, very kind and helpful staff, nice bar.

Pity that room didn’t have any table for small things or jacket hanger. Some people were loud almost whole night which was annoying.

I liked the style of the main hall (bar, breakfast, games, sitting area), there were good vibes, this place definitely isn't boring. I stayed in the female only dorm and it was a good choice - the price was a bit higher than for the mixed ones - but the female only was a quieter place. Clean room, I also liked that there were plenty of spacious lockers (bring your own luggage padlock/number lock!). The cleaning staff did regularly take care of the rooms and bathroom/toilettes. Some people weren't clean - I mean the guests - so keeping the areas clean was a challenge sometimes... At the reception very nice staff. Overall a pleasant experience. Excellent location. Only 6-minute walk to the British museum, 8-minute walk to the Regent's Canal.

Some of the guests were loud, partied till 2-3am... well, that's not exactly something the Generator can influence. But there was enough staff present to feel safe. There were some issues with unclean areas and maintenance issues (I had to move to a different room mid-stay) but thinking at the numbers/amount of people staying there every night, no wonder there are always some issues the staff needs promptly to react to. For me, the positive clearly outweighed the negative

It‘s a dynamic, lively and well designed place at a very well thought out price point in a great part of town. We went as a family of three and got a four bed room without an extra tenant, the room was tight but worked well for us, the bunk beds are comfortable and we liked the view. I’d definitely come again.

The tradeoff for the low price point is of course the communal bathroom, you don’t know where to hang your clothes for a shower, once the toilet paper had run out, nothing tragic, just something you have to know going in. The one elevator has to do a lot of work for all those floors and number of guests, some wait times. Still good though on balance.

Everything was kept very clean all the time (which is the most important thing to me). The bed is comfortable, as well as the pillow they give you. Each bed has one drawer that can be closed with a locker, which fits definitely a lot of things, it was very comfortable to keep all of my things (they were a bunch). The room also has a sink, which is useful so you don’t have to go to the toilet for every single thing. The staff is very nice, friendly and available for anything you might need. The food at the bar is great.

Just small things because overall it was great, but the sink in the room could have been cleaned more often, and the showers are pretty tiny: there is no space to keep you things inside, just a little hanger outside which could barely fit my towels, I had to use the hanger of another shower to put my clothes. The room I was in was also pretty tiny, definitely no space if you wanna just hang there for some time during the day.

The facilities were fairly clean considering how busy it was, very easy check-in/out. The location is very good.

I stayed in a female only dorm which was advertised as 6-8 beds, there was 12 beds in the room I was put in. However there was ample storage and I didn’t have any space issues whilst staying there. Additionally half the sinks and showers were out of use, which made the wait time for a shower a little longer. I only stayed two nights though, so maybe it just takes a while to fix?

The Generator hotel is a Humble Place and is a hidden gem! With its university dormitory feel, it's the perfect spot for anyone looking for a cozy retreat. The issue isn't with the hotel staff; everyone, especially Abel, Giuliana, and Rosin Junior, were great. The problem lies with the leaders and the laws governing hotels in the UK. It feels like these regulations are created by out-of-touch leaders who prioritize their own interests over the needs of their customers. For instance, being asked for a disability card to use the accessible bathroom or being told to close my door at 3 am felt like a prison-like experience. The staff seemed oppressed by the system, too. It's time for a change in these outdated laws and regulations that restrict our freedoms and dignity."

Great location with easy walk to the next sub but also to Leicester Square, the British Museum, even Trafalgar Square. A lot of small cafes and restaurant near the hostel. The room was on the second floor, directly above the 'party zone' but with no sound coming up from below (except for street noise). Large selection of breakfast, including hot English breakfast, fresh bread and rolls, spreads, vegetables, fruits, joghurt & cereals.

Stay away from the coffee at the buffet, get it at the bar instead! Also wished there would have been kitchen facilities to use for cooking.

The atmosphere was spectacular. Using shared facilities, you (women at least) had delightful conversations every time you showered. And the staff could not have been better at a five-star hotel. When we arrived, we asked the gentlemen sweeping out front for directions to reception, seeing me struggle with my bag, he took it and showed us the way. Decor was great. Each floor was a British entertainment theme. We stayed on Dr Who (4th floor). Painting & quotes on the walls in the hallway. And even the room had bright geometrics on the ceiling. Room and bathroom facilities were clean & well maintained. Bunk beds were comfortable. We had a twin room and it was spacious.

There was nothing I disliked. But gentle reminder & helpful tips... This is a hostel, not the Ritz. They were working on cracked paint as we left. Shower facilities could use a remodel BUT always clean. For mature travelers such as myself, be aware that the lift (elevator) is old, slow, small & has a low weight limit. Be prepared to wait. I usually took stairs down & lift up.

The staff here are part of what makes this hybrid hostel/hotel so comfortable. The chef makes an awesome Full English. Any problem that might arise is taken care of. The sports area has good football. Kids and families can play pool, arcade games or shuffleboard, or the more competitive can spar at shuffleboard. The pub atmosphere is relaxed and fun, not aggressive. The only addition this London location could make is a morning yoga like in Madrid. It is o e of the best hybrid hostels in London. Three times I have stayed here, each was a nice experience!

Elevator can sometimes be slow but nonetheless happy it was here

The installations were better than expected, conveniently placed close to the underground transportation for within the city, the Euston station in case you need to take a train, and very close to the British museum; laundry service helped a lot, bar with food if needed, breakfast buffet helped planned my day better, best location to stay in London with affordable price

My stay happened during what it seemed to be a school trip or something of the kind and it was very hard to take advantage of the amenities, I made it work as best as I could, some irresponsible person triggered the smoke alarm one night and woke us up at 5am
