Convenient location across from the sea and near the railway station. Fantastic views from the terrace, and the room was great. The concierge and porter were very helpful and professional. The gym facilities were also quite good.

While the rooftop area offers nice views, it felt quite busy and not as relaxing as expected, and the pool was a lot smaller than anticipated. The restaurant menus were fairly limited, and the meals we tried were average overall. Customer service could be improved, particularly in terms of staff communication — we found ourselves needing to follow up multiple times on the same issue. Although the property is located along the seafront, it's worth noting that there isn't direct beach access, so a taxi is needed to reach the nearest beach. The terrace has a wonderful view of the sea, but it would be better if there were two chairs instead of one.

What a top notch accommodation in the heart of Colombo. Staying during off-season meant that three days here was an absolute steal. Only a 10-15 minute walk to Galle Face beach and 20 minutes from Galle Face Mall, you are in the heart of the city, able to stare off over the horizon beyond the sea during sunset. While staying here during Vesak meant that the infinity pool bar was under renovation, everything was phenomenal. An electric toilet seat, large spa bath and waterfall shower was a perfectly place to clean yourself up before enjoying the sunset from the ocean-front window view and ordering in room service. When not in the room, the affordable buffet breakfast would be perfect fuel to use the best hotel gym I've ever seen, with dumbbells up to 50kg and almost every basic machine you could hope for - more than just a minimalist workout on holidays. Highlights include walking on the treadmill in the late afternoon as the sun comes into the room. Very comfortable and spacious bed to boot. Loved Granbell

The food was a little lackluster in comparison to the rest of the amenities. Buffet breakfast wasn't always fresh and hot (but it's a buffet so what should I expect?), and the room service was expensive relative to quality and other nearby restaurants. Not the best food I've ever had in my life but far from bad!

The extra taxes and service charges make eating in the restaurants very expensive and you don’t really know what it is going to cost. I would rather the service charge wasn’t included, leaving me free to tip quality service. I tend not to tip if there is a service charge. We actually didn’t know what all the taxes were as at other places there was just a tax and sometimes a service charge here there seemed to be an extra one.

- it not negative comment, things to improve. 1st - no offense ( our room was in DND) but IVD knock the door in the morning to deliver surprise birthday cake for my wife. Human error can happen. Understandable but we should focus on guest privacy and professional SOP. 2nd - HK team knock the door while( our Room was DND), same might happen busy operation but they mixup the room number for checkout room. Our room was villa 1501 but check out room was v1502. This are things we as hotelier to be mindful. A small details.

Areas for Improvement - It would be wonderful if, considering the price you pay for your stay, a complimentary breakfast could be provided to guests. Having to pay for the breakfast was a bit of a turnoff, and as a result, we often had to skip it altogether on a given day or settle for a cheaper option elsewhere.

I like the sea facing view of the room. The room is small but comfortable. It has all the key essentials and clean. The gym and roof top bar are nice, swimming pool is also great. Wifi is strong and consistent. Breakfast area is a little packed, need to look for seat. Clearing of table is fast. Food selection is ok~

Location of the hotel, while it offers nice sea view.. It is surrounded by constructions. At night, we can still hear drilling noise. It could be because we were in the corner room. The nearest convenient store is some distance away. (Maybe 10-15 min walk) So essentially we have to call a 3-wheeler or taxi to go to the nearest mall etc.

Such a great stay at Granbell Hotel! The rooms are beautifully designed and were nice and clean. The rooftop pool and bar/restaurant really makes this place stand out, it was great value and the cocktails were really well made. The pool was beautiful with such an incredible view. The location is great and has a supermarket a few minutes walk away if you need water or snacks.

We booked an airport transfer directly with the hotel and when we arrived after a long day of travelling there was no driver or car to be seen. We tried to call the hotel but they couldn't hear us and we ended up having to ask the lovely help desk at Colombo airport to ring the hotel for us. They then arranged another car but we waited over an hour at the airport which wasn't ideal. Also it's VERY overpriced compared to the Uber prices so I'd recommend just booking on arrival.

View from the balcony is priceless. Clear ocean and a beautiful balcony with a couch and table. Room was very clean and almost feels new. The pool was nice and staff was nice enough to send us breakfast to the room since we missed the breakfast buffet.

Took ages to get the elevator to go to the room. Such a crowded lobby and room service is inefficient. I had to ask 3 times for extra sugar and coffee. Had to wait 30 mins to check into the room even though I got there 2 hours after checkin time. And during chek out the staff called and was quite rude to check out even though they delayed my chekin. Had to wait 30 mins for the staff to come help with the bags. Restaurants options are very poor and even though it says 24/7 room service no one answered the phone after 2am. They said kitchen was closed.
