Small hotel attached to long-established restaurant with a great location at the corner of Piazza Vecchia in the heart of Bergamo's Città Alta, very close to most of the principal monuments. My 'Superior Double' was a basically-furnished, no frills room with parquet flooring, window shutters and an old-fashioned rotating ceiling fan (no air conditioning). Adequate en suite bathroom a bit of a squeeze! Everything kept impeccably clean and staff at reception desk very friendly and helpful. Good buffet breakfasts in ground floor bar area, comprising cold meats and cheese, tomatoes and cucumber, yoghurt, fruit, fresh rolls, tart and pastries, coffee made to order. Good restaurant with lunch and dinner service (spoilt for choice, with plenty of others nearby in the piazza and Vias Colleoni and Gombito). I would highly recommend, if you're not looking for luxury.

Narrowness of bathroom and positioning of toilet and shower cubicle within space available - my manoeuvrability leaves something to be desired nowadays!

The location, staff and cleanliness were exceptional and the hotel definitely warrants a higher star rating.

We arrived late on Monday night and unbeknown to us the hotel was closed Tuesday and Wednesday so after breakfast there was no use of the lounge for coffee/drinks or no kettle in the rooms for use. Also no staff available if there was any kind of issue to seek help - I would have expected hotel facilities to be available for residents at least unless pre- warned, unfortunately we were not pre-warned.

The staff are very welcoming. The location is perfect on piazza Vecchia. The rooms are very clean, many with a view of the hills , very good bedding. A relaxed lounge to meet friends ( we were 10) and very good breakfast with flowing coffee and tea, etc. Also a very good restaurant. There is luggage storage too.

We all experienced problems getting hot water. It was a waste if water to run a shower for 10 min before hot water got to one. There were no Black out curtains on some if the bedroom windows. Otherwise it would be excellent. We still plan on returning.

We arrived and were meet by the friendly staff and shown to our room which was very comfortable we used the restaurant on 2 occasions the head waiter was one of the friendliest person and very helpful his team were also very friendly and food was exceptional breakfast was also excellent we enjoyed everything about the hotel and location well done everyone

Being very picky tea and coffee facilities in room would be a bonus but not essential

Lovely people who run it. Location was absolute perfection! We had a triple room and it was larger than expected and spotlessly clean. Restaurant served good food.

There was really very little not to like. If I was being super critical, then I would mention that the shower over the bath was not very good. It wasn’t a power shower plus wouldn’t stay up and kept sliding down so you couldn’t wash your hair easily standing up

This property was beautiful and in the best spot in the upper town. The staff were lovely and breakfast was very nice. The rooms were spacious and clean.

No air conditioner which made sleeping very difficult. Although there was a ceiling fan and a small desk fan which helped a little bit. The shower was also very small and there was warm water on some mornings and only cold on other mornings, you have to wait for the warm water to come through for half hour.

We’ve been to Bergamo many times & I always wanted to stay here. The taxi dropped us off right outside the door. We had a friendly welcome, quick check in & were taken up to our room. There are lots of steps but this is an old building so we didn’t mind. The room was very spacious, comfortable and warm - the window opened so we could here the Bergamo bells. We had dinner in the restaurant which was stylish and full of families & atmosphere with delicious food. Breakfast was fresh fruit, fresh bread rolls & fresh coffee made to order - perfection. We were able to leave our bags whilst we explored Bergamo - we would definitely recommend walking up to San Viglio for cafes & restaurants with terraces & views in the Spring sunshine but book! Overall, a perfect stay, Gracie x

When I booked 2 stars hotel, honestly, didn't expect anything, just to have a place to overstay, but the hotel service staff exceeded our expectations! Very helpful manager, thank You so much for making our only one night stay unforgettable. The hotel is located in a perfect place, just in front of Piazza Vechia. Because the hotel is located just in front of Piazza Vechia, be prepared to listen to a lot of bells, but this makes the stay more cozy italian :).

Maybe some hot meals during the breakfast could be preferable. Ant the sound proof rooms were also nice.

The location is fabulous, right on the Piazza Vecchia. After arriving quite late from the airport and catching the local bus we found the hotel very easily. The music was great playing in the restaurant and would have stayed, but we wanted to soak up the atmosphere of the Città Alta as we were only staying for 1 night. The room was lovely and warm, and the bed was comfortable. At breakfast, we were greeted by a lovely man and young lady who provided our coffee, etc. Great selection at breakfast is all fresh and tasty.

The shower was very compact. However, the juliet balcony and lovely view of rooftops and distant cypress trees compensated.

The apartment is stunning with views in three directions over the rooftops of the old city. we had amazingly good meals in nearby restaurants; shopped for local produce and enjoyed the walks and countryside around the city too. A great base for exploring but also comfortable and well appointed enough to spend downtime in the apartment. We were looked after meticulously and with good humour by the agency whom we could not fault. They are so kind and efficient!

There are nearly a hundred stairs to the fifth floor apartment and as it is an old building, no lift! this was not aproblem for us but might be an issue for some guests
