This apartment is in a great location in Citta Alta which is the prime tourist area of Bergamo. Even though it is in the main tourist area it is not noisy at night and, at least when we were there, was not overrun with tourists during the day. Unfortunately they were doing streetworks very near the apartment during our stay which made it quite congested outside the apartment but not terrible. The apartment is well appointed, clean, quiet, warm and secure. If you were just a couple staying here then it would be even better than when we rented it with 5 adults staying here. The staff are super nice and very helpful. Breakfast was pleasant in the restaurant that they run 2 doors down. Nice way to start the day.

The only thing that I wasn't aware of was that although it sleeps 5, there is no divider between areas in the apartment i.e. the kitchen area is open across the ceiling to the bedroom. With 5 adults this means we had one on the foldout couch in our room and 2 in the living/kitchen area and noises from everyone can be heard during the night. No fault of the accommodation but some people might prefer a more closed off room to improve sleeping quietness.

Room was spacious, completely renovated recently, all new fixtures and furniture, well equipped, quiet and comfortable. AC was adequate and responsive. The location is very good, right in the center of the Citta Alta and the management runs the restaurant on the ground floor where a very nice breakfast was served. Breakfast included excellent products, fresh breads and cakes and eggs to order. The staff were very nice and helpful in every way.

The stair is a bit of a climb but management carried our luggage up for us and assured us they would bring it back down for checkout if we wished. The building is very old but very well built and cared for. No negatives.

⸻ Absolutely amazing experience staying here in Italy! The place was exceptional — a perfect blend of rustic charm with modern touches. The apartment was spotless, beautifully decorated, and the bed and bedding were incredibly comfortable. We were traveling with a baby and had lots of luggage from our road trip, and upon arrival Paulo went above and beyond to help us. Since the apartment was on the 3rd or 4th floor with many stairs, three staff members came right away to assist with our bags. Everything was handled so smoothly and professionally. The apartment was thoughtfully equipped for families — there was even a baby safety gate to prevent little ones from going near the stairs. Our request for a crib was accommodated immediately, and it came with high-quality bedding, a soft pillow, a cozy cover, and beautiful cotton sheets. The amenities were thoughtful down to the smallest detail — from the quality hand soap and shower gel to the washing machine, which was a lifesaver during our travels. The ambience was warm and inviting, making it feel like home. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, featuring fresh, local products from nearby farms. Dinner was equally impressive — the local pasta was outstanding, and their tiramisu was the best we’ve ever had. The service throughout was impeccable. We travel often and have stayed in many places around the world, but this spot truly stands out as charming and exceptional. Luka, in particular, was outstanding and deserves special mention for his kindness and helpfulness. A 10-star experience — we would highly recommend it and will definitely return!

Absolutely everything

All of the staff were very helpful and friendly and are a credit to the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with an espresso machine and a fridge. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location is perfect; you can't get a better central spot, just a few minutes stroll from the main square. No noise from the street outside as the sympathetically designed double glazing works perfectly. The breakfast is beautiful; fresh home made breads, fruits, yogurts, cereals, pastries meats, eggs and cheese. I would return here, and will recommend it to others.

The location was ideal for walking around all areas of Bergamo’s old town. Hotel staff were polite, helpful and friendly and we were able to leave our luggage until the apartment was ready. The breakfast provided in the cafe next door was lovely and the staff in there all very kind and welcoming even booking us a taxi to the train station for the continuation of our trip.

We were disappointed with the dismissive service we received in the adjoining Da Mimmo restaurant which was such a shame as we looked forward to going as we had been on a previous trip. Unfortunately I will not visit the restaurant again nor recommend it to others as we felt sidelined seated at the far rear of the restaurant and the food was only ok. The 10% discount offered to hotel guests really wasn’t a motivation for us and I would rather have paid more and received better courtesy and service. Since this was in such contrast to our experience in the hotel and Mimmo cafe where everyone was lovely, we were really disappointed that the restaurant seemed so indifferent to us as customers.

We stayed at Locanda Mimmo for one night and had a fantastic experience. The staff were absolutely amazing—friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure our luggage was in the room upon arrival. Our room overlooked the main road, but it was peaceful inside. The air conditioning was perfect, the shower worked flawlessly, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was tastefully decorated and clean. Breakfast was delicious, offering a great start to the day. Overall, a highly recommended stay with attentive staff and excellent amenities!

From the moment we arrived, we knew this was going to be special. The reception was in the restaurant which owned the room a few doors away. It was a beautiful foyer, with lovely helpful staff. The room was in a town house that had stood for several hundred years, yet the room had been total renovated and overlooked the main old town street below. The rest of the townhouse appeared to be occupied by local residents. The view from the door to the apartment was spectacular. There are two or three rooms with a shared communal area, should you want to sit outside your bedroom. The accommodation is provided by the same owner who has three restaurants in very close proximity (all provide a 10% discount for dinner - we ate at DaMimmo which was superb). Fantastic location, brilliant room, and I have not even mentioned the outstanding breakfast.

Two flights of steps will not suit all The town bells toll, one hundred times, at 10pm and 7.30am…. There is no escaping then in the town. However the room, breakfast and overall impression was amazing.

The breakfast location was in the busy little Mimi Bistrot, located virtually next door to the Locanda. Loads of atmosphere, with locals and visitors popping in for morning coffee and breakfast. The staff were all great, and the included breakfast includes yogurt, meats, cheeses, breads & croissants, together with juices and coffees. Our room was up about 40 steps but was definitely worth the climb, with an enormous comfortable bed, a fabulous bathroom and shower, and a great coffee machine. Cleaned each day by wonderful staff who were always willing to help. Thank you.

The only slight criticism was that the included breakfast was the same each day, although you could always order and pay for something from their bistro breakfast menu for a change…it all looked delicious!

Very large bed, clean modern bathroom, fantastic breakfasts with freshly baked bread, with sweet and savory options, we had the Tasso room on the 3rd floor (the gentleman from the staff carried our suitcase to the room), location in the old town right next to Piazza Vecchia.

This room is connected with 2 other rooms by one common room (with kitchenette, table, etc.). Unfortunately, spending time in this common room disturbs the peace of other residents. So if you are unlucky and have entertaining neighbors, you will probably not rest.

I was here with my wife for about a week in June. The apartment (called Lotto) is super clean and tastefully designed, with modern appliances and a modern bathroom. It is in a building adjacent to the one that has the reception in it and one of Mimmo's three eateries, which range from a cafe to a white-tablecloth restaurant, and the food is amazing in all of these. (Also you get a 10% discount if you're a Locanda guest. All the staff without exception are very friendly and courteous and will help you with anything you need. This is true also of the owner himself. The Locanda and restaurants is the fruit of a hard-working family's labor - you can get a booklet about the family history. The windows have the typical Italian shutters, so almost no light gets in the morning, in case you want to sleep in. It should be added that Bergamo itself is a magnificent surprise, one of our favourites in all of Italy.

My only real concern is that people will read this and more will book the Locanda, so it may be harder for us to come back! The Locanda is on a narrow street that connects two squares in the historic Upper City. That is great, because it means that all the sites are within easy or relatively easy walking distance. Unfortunately, while we were there workers were replacing the cobblestones, and this was quite noisy. They finished our stretch while we were there, though, so this should not be of concern to future visitors. Even with the noise, the windows shut out most of it, I think they're triple-pane.
