The warm welcome and hospitality of the family members that run La Darsena Hotel and Restaurant was amazing! They go out of their way to make sure their guests are comfortable and that their special requests are well taken care of. The rooms are spacious and the décor of the dining area is very classy and elegant. Breakfast was a delicious spread and the family members are right there to serve their guests with a smile - very impressive! The hotel is located right on Lake Como and the views of the lake are spectacular! The New Year's Eve dinner at the restaurant was truly fine dining in every way - excellent service, a fabulous seven course dinner, music that filled the air with festive cheer and great ambience. The chef is one of the family members and it is evident that he cooks with a passion and creativity in every detail, including the presentation - bravo! This boutique hotel and restaurant is definitely the best!

We had a balcony room and it was wonderful to have a gorgeous view of Lake Como. The view was truly unbeatable. We had the corner room as well which afforded a lot of private space. There are nice restaurants in walking distance, it's close to the Ferry, the bus stop and the Greenway. It was easy to get checked in and out, and the front desk was helpful in giving us directions and booking us a taxi back to the train station.

I wish that the restaurant itself was a little more accessible to the travelers. It's very upscale and while breakfast was really nice and down to earth with other guests, we felt a little out of place the day we went downstairs for lunch. Luckily there are some other close by options we appreciated!

We stayed here for one night, and from the start, we didn’t expect anything special. We just wanted to stay somewhere near the lake. But we were surprised by this hotel for a few reasons: 1. They have an incredible restaurant. You won’t believe me, but during our trip across Italy, it has been difficult to find a restaurant with good cuisine in touristy places. But here… I wonder why they haven’t received a Michelin star yet. For dinner, we ordered a set menu with five dishes, and I would say they were amazing. Plus, the service was exceptional. We felt like royalty there. 2. The view from the restaurant overlooking Lake Como is terrific. Really, the view is amazing. They offer a free breakfast included in your stay, and this breakfast (prepared by their brilliant chef) with that view… Definitely, You need to experience it

Nothing. Everything was top-level: a renovated room, amazing cuisine in the restaurant, exceptional service...

All stuff was super nice and the service is good. I like most the cleanness because everyday they cleaned our room. The views from balcony were amazing. The location is amazing, you can walk nice restaurants and cafes from hotel. Rooms have smart tv. We got dinner at hotel's restaurant. Classic dinner set menu was 65 euros per person but I cannot say the food was amazing, I can say that the food was good and so enough. Minibar has so many things in it.

We did not like the pillows. I think they are uncomfortable. To a Turkish person(whose culture including vast majortiy of breakfast) the breakfast is ok but not enough, but we know that European breakfast style is that. I did not like the omelettes they smelled a bit overcooked. During the checkout, I got super important call from my dad, and reception called me 3 times (starting 11.03 a.m) in 10 minutes for the checkout. It was a bad experience for me because I was trying to handle a stressful call and the phone from reception did not stop. And lastly, in first day I asked whether they have slippers or not, the answer was "because we are 3-stars hotel, we don't have slippers" I can understand.

This beautiful family hotel is exactly what it says on the tin a Boutique hotel. All the staff are friendly, accomodating, kind, and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and has access to Netflix/prime etc…they were helpful with adpators, phone sockets, umbrellas (it rained a couple of days whilst we were there) and a take-away breakfast when we left earlier than breakfast started. It’s situated on the water close to the the ferry stop and bus stop. You can get the C10 there from Como train station (about an hour journey maybe more/maybe less traffic dependant) and close to local shops, restaurants, bars, and the stunning Grand Treezamo Hotel and & villa carolettea. Totally recommend staying here ask for a lake view! I would recommend they build another terrace balcony with sun loungers, terrace furniture and tables and chairs for customers who don’t have access to a balcony to enjoy and everyone else! Ways to socialise too.

Only downside was getting a road side room with no balcony and it was noisy. But I made the most of sitting on the restaurant balcony outside of meal times to enjoy sitting with views of the lake…

Breakfast was superb, and the restaurant where breakfast was served had fantastic views. Room was very clean. We had booked the attic room, which also had great views of the lake. Parking was just outside the hotel, but the spaces are limited. The location of the hotel is superb, the boat stop is several steps away, villa Carlotta is at a short walking distance. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and would gladly stay here again.

What a great location and lovely little hotel. The staff was so helpful and kind, and the view from the restaurant was perfect. I highly recommend staying here! It really fit our budget, while also making us feel well cared for on vacation. The included breakfast was excellent and it’s walking distance to the ferry too!

Being next to the road was a bit loud at night, but we slept fine with earplugs in.

More plugs in the rooms , only one plug ( by the table ) took the normal UK to EU adapter which made charging a bit tricky No mugs or kettles in the rooms - although apparently they may have been available on request Would be nice to have dressing gowns in the room

It is truly a great place to stay in - it has this old world charm which we truly appreciated. Amazing views from the dining room and the terrace where one can enjoy the delicious breakfast. Very close to ferry, restaurants and shops. Bus to Como S. Giovanni is across the street from hotel. The staff is super helpful. They went out of the way to find a Doctor as my daughter had lost her medication and needed a new prescription. Within 2 hours the problem was solved.

Italians, in my experiance, are not immune of providing the minimum where they think it is not important to have more. This is NOT the case in La Darsena. A family that run Le Darsena provided the full comfort rooms with large beds, furnished the rooms and bathrooms with quality materials, quality make, and all that is applied with an excellent style and design, you would expect in Italy. We were touched with the fact that younger sister runs the reception and pretty much everything else, that her brother runs the restaurant in the hotel, with lake view, and situated ON THE LAKE, and guests relations, and her second brother is the chef for no less than the fine dinning dinners. Her mother came to say hello to the guests with broad smile and the father was present, dressed sharp. If you want to get a room with lake view, it helps if you are in good mood and smile and there is no reason why you should not. Just emulate the young and lovely proprietress because she always smiles. Her favorite word is "perfetto" and that is just like our stay in La Darcena was..
