Ostello Bello in Como is a hostel with a really special atmosphere. We stayed in a 4-person room with a private bathroom, and we really liked the decor and space arrangement – everything was cozy and functional. Guests have access to a well-equipped kitchen with a pleasant, sunny terrace, as well as a patio and a secret garden, which add charm to the place. The hostel provides pasta, passata, and basic vegetables for cooking, which is a great convenience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and in the evenings, different activities are organized, like karaoke or family cooking. The hostel is located in two historic buildings that reflect traditional Italian architecture. Until 1999, they were the private residence of the Falciola family. "Casa Falciola" was donated to the Ozanam Association by the last heir, Professor Alberto Falciola, to support charitable activities. In 2017, the buildings were renovated and turned into a hostel, and the rental income supports aid for those in need.

The location was great, and the property was a lot of fun, they have everything you need for a nice stay. The rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms had a nice layout and were clean. The staff was very friendly. There was laundry on site which was very much needed for me, and it was a good price too, 9 euro for washing AND drying.

I wish that the beds had curtains but I was fine without those. My room was on the bottom floor next to the garden where at night it’s very busy, so until about 1 it was pretty loud, but nothing terrible. While I was very glad to have access to laundry facilities, the drier did not completely dry my clothes on the normal setting.

Overall a decent hostel in Como, very nice staff helped me plan my days and gave recommendations, less than 10 mins walk from stage main train station, very well located and walkable to all places, quite at night, well equipped kitchen with cooking supplies, variety of common spaces (indoor&outdoor)

For the price it could be more cleaner, the locker was dirty from previous guest, also they just leave the sheets on the bed and you have to make your own bed which for the price bed should already be made and ready to go! Another point is that the Blanket/duvet doesn’t get washed between guests and they don’t provide duvet cover just a sheet which is not very hygienic

I had a fantastic experience at Ostello Bello! One of the best parts was the abundance of free food and cooking ingredients — from pasta and sauces to spices and more. It made cooking fun, affordable, and a great way to bond with other travelers in the well-equipped kitchen. The atmosphere is super comfortable, with plenty of cozy corners to relax, work, or meet new people. It truly felt like a home away from home. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile and great tips for exploring the area. Another big plus is the location — it’s just a short walk to a supermarket, the ferry port, and the bus station where you can catch a direct bus to Bellagio. Super convenient for planning day trips around Lake Como!

I have stayed at Ostello Bello for three nights in late August, and I must say, it was by far the best hostel experience I've ever had. The Ostello Bello is located central and very close to lake Como. It’s easy to reach from the train station Como San Giovani and you can get to the city center, which you can explore easily by foot, within minutes. Regarding the rooms there is not much to say, but also nothing to complain about. I have been staying in a six-bed dormitory. Everything was clean, AC, shower and toilette were working and toilette paper has been always available. Here it depends on the people you are staying with. The breakfast is good, but in any case there is a supermarket 24/7 open right next to the hostel where you can go in case you can not make it to the breakfast until 11 a.m. What’s special about Ostello Bello are the very cozy common areas in the inner courtyard of the hostel where I enjoyed chatting and drinking in the evenings and sharing a breakfast with newly made friends in the morning. There’s also a fully-equipped kitchen, complemented by a cozy rooftop terrace. It offers some free food and everything you need to make an Italian pasta, making it the perfect spot for cooking with friends and soon-to-be friends. Some free snacks and free water are also available. The staff is very courteous and happy to help you finding the best activities and spots around Como. I particularly enjoyed the organized social events, such as the “family” dinner, beer pong tournament, sunset picnic, and quiz night. These activities are fantastic opportunities to get in contact with the other guests in the hostel. Special thanks to the volunteer Laura who has been organizing these events with so much effort and was eager to get all people involved and connected. After these activities, the common area tends to transform into a lively bar, offering reasonably priced drinks, which even attracts locals.

Amazing hostel. I cooked all of my meals for free at the hostel. They provide free pasta, sauce, a bunch of fresh veggies, bread, pastries, etc. Definitely one of the pricier hostels I have stayed in, but having food covered was a huge perk. The town nightlife is coming to the hostel, so it is very lively every night till around 1. Dorms were very clean. They had a secret garden with hammocks which is a very nice place to relax away from all the people who are in the main area.

First of all, the staff were truly sweet and helpful people. I can honestly say that this was the fastest and most practical check-in and check-out process of my life! :D The hostel is located in Como and is very central. You can easily reach it from the Milan city center with just one train. Plus, it’s only a 5-minute walk to the ferry and steamboat pier you'll use to explore Lake Como. The idea of an open café was fantastic; we always had hot coffee and treats. We especially loved the garden and the kitchen area. We usually ate out, but you could also cook something yourself and enjoy it on the terrace. The rooms were always clean and tidy. After check-out, we wanted to leave our luggage at the hostel for a few more hours. Our receptionist John was so kind and made it very easy for us to leave our bags there for free. This was such a great convenience for us. Thank you so much for everything; it was worth every penny! It was magnificent in every way. Also, the other guests, our roommates, were very friendly and lovely travelers. We felt very safe. I can't wait to experience the hostel and Como again! PS: Our room view was also great, just trees and nature

Front desk service was A++++ they were very welcoming & it felt like talking to old friends. Rooms were nice and clean. Facilities are good too. It’s also a 5 min walk to the nearest Piazza where there’s a bunch of al fresco places to eat (and sometimes live music from buskers). Central Como & San Giovani train station were all just a few minutes’ walk. But know that this is a dorm where you share a room with people! There might be snorers but you can ask for ear plugs at the reception even at wee hours of the night. My bed was nice and comfy. There was a USB and socket where i could charge. There was also a small locker where i could store my valuables (bring your own padlock, buy from the reception, or from a nearby store) 10/10 would definitely book here again.

It was like a 10 minute walk from the train station. The place was beautiful and clean. I loved all the accommodations like storing luggage for free, free food in the kitchen, free snacks and drinks down in the lobby. The welcome drink was great and the bar is open 24hrs. The views from the balcony outside the kitchen was very scenic and the vibes of the hostel were exceptional. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I met some amazing people while staying at this hostel I’m still in contact with. Would definitely stay again!

I have very little to complain about. I understand that Como is very touristy but felt like for a hostel it was more expensive than most hostels I’ve been to. It was worth the money just need to keep in mind the price to stay here.

Everything! From the friendly staff to the homely setting. I have never boarded anywhere where there was free food in a well-stocked and fully equipped kitchen. Also, I have slept in many places, but never before have I been handed so clean and crisp bedsheets. I felt very welcome and cared for. Plus, the common room has books, musical instruments, games, television.... what more could one ask for. And of course, you have access to free coffee all day! It was really amazing staying at Ostello bello.

The allowed check-in time was rather very late (2:30 pm). I arrived at 8 am and wanted to freshen up and rest but had to wait 6 hours. I'd recommend moving it forward to 12. Or at least have a room where guests can freshen up as they await check-in, even at an extra cost. Also, the ventilation fan in the bathroom doesn't seem to work, so there was this stench that lingered in the air (i think one of my roommates wasn't very sanitary). I recommend having air freshners or scent diffusers in the bathrooms.
