Nicollo was an exceptionally fine host!!!! So friendly, knowledgeable and caring. The only reason I gave the comfort a "9" was my king bed had a small mound down the middle. Otherwise, I adored the large roof top with tables, lounge chairs and roses. Walkable to train station and tram into the historical area was right out the front door. The sheets were so clean and crisp, just divine for a weary tourist!! I will always return to Alla Dimora. I already feel like family. Ciao

The hosts were fantastic, very friendly, and responsive. The room was spacious with a good view (granted, you could see railroad tracks, but also the green hills). Nice bathroom, lots of hot water. All very clean and had everything I needed, including fridge, kettle, cutlery, towels, heat, etc. The roof deck was a nice place to hang out. Great wifi. Tram into tourist area of Florence almost right across the street. A couple of decent pizza/trattorias, a delicious halal pita place, and best of all the sandwich place you see in my photos, are within easy walking distance.

Not a huge problem, but the room just had too much going on visually -- pictures, signs, stuff. Overall, decor could use a bit of a refresh, but I got used to the warmth of the dated vibe. Overhead lighting was a bit harsh, and the only other lighting in the room were bedside lamps. A simple fix would be to add a table lamp. The bed was fine to sleep on, but a bit stiff.

Staying at Alla Dimora Altea was one of the highlights of my trip to Florence. Located just a short walk from Santa Maria Novella, the main train station, it’s in an incredibly convenient spot for exploring the city. One of my favorite features was the rooftop terrace, which is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine while taking in the charming views of Florence’s rooftops. My room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, with windows overlooking the rooftops. It was cozy and inviting, with a very comfortable bed, reliable Wi-Fi, and plenty of thoughtful little amenities that made the stay even more pleasant. The room was cleaned every day and always in due course, which added to the overall sense of care and professionalism. A special highlight of the experience was Niccolò, the owner of the hotel. He is warm, welcoming, intelligent, and helpful beyond belief — always ready with recommendations, directions, or simply a friendly chat. On top of that, Niccolò is an incredibly reasonable and thoughtful person, genuinely committed to making his guests feel at home. You can tell he truly cares, and meeting him was one of the joys of my stay. I’ll be recommending his hotel to my friends without hesitation. At first, I was given a room where the noise from the nearby railway tracks was quite noticeable and disturbing. However, Niccolò was incredibly understanding and immediately offered to change my room. After the switch, I slept very well, and the rest of my stay was wonderfully peaceful and pleasurable. I only regret that I couldn’t have stayed longer. Alla Dimora Altea is the kind of place that makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. If you are looking for a place with character, comfort, and a truly exceptional host, this is a fantastic choice for you. I would happily return the next time I visit Florence.

We had a very pleasant stay — and a big part of that was thanks to our host, Niccolo, who made us feel at home and safe from the moment we arrived. His warm welcome really made a difference and positively shaped our overall experience. It’s important to keep in mind that this is more like a converted apartment, and each room seems to be a part of what used to be a residential flat. This is not a problem at all, but if you’re expecting a standard hotel room, you may need to adjust your expectations. For instance, you can hear others coming and going, but all guests were respectful, and we didn’t experience any disturbing noise. The terrace is truly lovely, and both the rooms and common areas were clean and well maintained. The tram stops right in front of the building — which I specifically appreciated as I was traveling with my daughter — but in the end, we didn’t use it because the location is so central that we walked everywhere. It’s within walking distance of Santa Maria Novella train station, yet nicely tucked away from the crowds in front of it. We’d definitely stay here again. Thank you for everything!

The location is very close to the transport, train, tram,and buses even I just walked to the Cathedral and famous attractions. Bonus was very close to the tour buses meeting point that I needed to catch up. The staff was friendly and helpful explained how to catch the bus or tram and introduced other services for activities if you want. Room was good sized and comfortable bathroom. A huge window from the room just look up the terrace . The terrace is spacious and comfortable for sitting and having some wine after having a big day visiting around Florence. Thank you so much.

Great location. Very clean property and fantastic host. Two minute walk to the tram station, but if you are happy to walk just follow the tramlines to the railway station and further on to the centre. The tram will take you directly to the airport. Property was on 6th floor but had a lift. We really only used the lift when we had our suitcases. Niccolo was an amazing host, so warm and full of energy. There was a minibar with piccolos of sparkling wine a few soft drinks and bottles of beer. The prices were incredibly cheap.

Niccolo’ is the best he makes this stay a 10, His warm huggy greeting to the small Details of a couple beers, wine and water in the fridge at a very reasonable price, which he refreshed every day as he swapped towels and made our bed. The terrace is a great place to sit Loved our stay. We would highly recommend this place to anyone and so handy to train station and fantastic real local restaurants. Niccolo you are exactly what a host should be. It felt like you were welcoming us into your home a rare find in todays world thank you

Not a negative but something we have observed in all the wonderful family run businesses that the tv is not you tube etc friendly at the end of a long day of eating drinking and sight seeing being able to watch something in English as we sip our wine and relax would be great

We had a very pleasant stay at Alla Dimora Altea. From the airport, it is very easy to reach by tram (literally a 1-minute walk away from a stop) which also meant that the city was very easily reachable. We arrived quite late by plane, but our host Niccolò gave us all the information through WhatsApp about how we could find our room and see ourselves in. In general Niccolò is an amazing host. Furthermore, the bed was really nice and having a rooftop gave a nice opportunity to have breakfast outside.

Its location is slightly noisy with the windows open due to the close proximity to the train tracks. However, the trains stopped running at around 23:00, and with the windows closed (using the AC) it was perfectly serviceable.

Clean bedroom, with a big window, with a nice view of Firenze. Nicolo very friendly, helped us a lot with restaurants e places to go. Good bed and linen. Bathroom with amenities and hair dryer. There is wine and glasses and bottle opener in the bedroom. There was a tram stop very near, which was conveniente specially at the end of the day, but we could go walking also to the train station and all of Firenze.

The size of the shower is very small, my husband could not take a comfortable shower! Breakfast was not offered, but there was a coffee machine, milk and tea.

A very friendly and helpful host who advised us on the most convenient mode of transport around the city. The room was very warm during the cold winter days, and the shower was hot. It gets a thumbs-up compared to other hotels in Italy. The location was perfect, and the tram stop was very near. The town centre was easy to access via tram or walking.

We were unsure what items, such as water and coffee, could be charged to the room, so we chose not to take any. Please note that some items were chargeable.
