This is a delightful hotel with the most amazing and helpful staff. The whole building has been tastefully renovated and rooms are lovely. The property is just off a main route out of Florence, which makes it easy to get to Florence, Pisa, Chianti region and the rest of Tuscany - as long as you have transport. Breakfasts were very good with inside and outside seating. Nice pool with plenty of sunbeds and gazebos. They have a little spa facility and they bring in an outstanding masseuse if you book. I like a good massage and we live in Thailand, yet this is one of the best massages we have ever experienced - I had hot stone and my wife had office syndrome and acupressure. You are a 10-20 minute journey from the main trainline (depending on the station you want to go from) and this runs Florence-Pisa and beyond (train system is excellent too). Incredible restaurant just across the road, so don't be put off by not having a restaurant on-site. There is a bar service in the hotel so you can have drinks - alcoholic, non-alcoholic, coffee, etc. I think that is a 24 hour service?

For us, this was an excellent stay. The only thing that might temper this is if you do not have your own transport so getting off this site might be a bit more challenging.

We were very much surprised that the property was very nice. It was more like a villa than a hotel, although it has all that a hotel offers. The staff was very kind, the room, the yard, the bar, the breakfast - all was very nice. We definitely would come again when we are around!

May be the piano in the l;obby could be tuned (joking!) All the decorations in the place were great, and the piano is a nice attribute.

Staff was friendly and helpful, and the restaurant just across the street was a great addition to the service

Our room had few minor details, that didn't really affect our stay that much, but the shower holder didn't work, the drying shelf in the bathroom wasn't reliable and fell when we tried to put a towel in it, and the hook on the window broke when we touched it 😅 but nothing major

Superb place. Comfortable and good bathrooms. Swimming pool a bonus. Lovely courtyard where you can take an excellent breakfast - everything you could possibly want. Staff extremely welcoming and helpful and good recommendations for places to eat- we had an excellent pizza. Good location too for Florence and local ceramic museum. Travelling with dog - plenty of space to walk and a good choice of room so we could come and go through our own outside without having to go through reception.

Spacious & quiet , close enough to rail station for Florence and elsewhere. Staff were wonderful hosts and very helpful Breakfast more than adequate Outside space with loungers and small pool great for relaxing

Need to take great care exiting to main road as road can be busy/fast and visibility is not great - needs a mirror mounting to ensure safe exit

very nice setting, really enjoy being in this old repurposed building, good restaurant across the street, was here 7 years ago which was also a great stay

room was very warm even with thermostat off. with the window open had a mosquito issue. when discussed with front desk they turned off the heat system and provided a plug in mosquito solution that solved the issues.

This was the last stop of our trip with a toddler and what stood out most: the staff was amazing and so sweet. We had an early arrival which was no problem, could choose the room that we liked most and the way they spoke to our child was so nice. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Also good transport options to Florence centre.

Squeaky clean rooms in a serene environment, and the historic building is beautiful, with quality building materials we just don’t have in the U.S. The staff were friendly, and I loved the ability to rent a bicycle for free to explore the beautiful Tuscan countryside. That was a dream!

The location is not bad, but it is certainly a bit challenging to get around without a car, and arranging a taxi (because the taxi unions have limited share-riding services like Uber) is incredibly expensive and unreliable because the taxis come from the larger town of Empoli. I luckily found a ride with another hotel guest when I had to leave for the Pisa airport.

Location is stunning, hotel has it's own restaurant but we dined in the one just literally across the road for a change of scenery. Hotel is friendly, clean and welcoming. Like staying with family. Rooms are good size and comfortable.

Sadly mosquitos were invading Tuscany on our trip - we struggled to clear our room of them. hotel did everything they could to help.

Wonderful setting with internal courtyard and breakfast area outside. Steeped in history - but modern facilities. Helpful with wheelchair access. Good breakfast - convenient restaurant opposite with excellent choice of food. Next village - Montelupo - was/is potting village for Florence - do not miss the amazing ceramic museum!
