Rooms 19 has an excellent location in the historic centre of Palermo, very close to Piazza San Dominico. Our room was small, but very well maintained, with a well-stocked shared kitchen area outside our door. The breakfast menu had ample choices, and a lot of variety, and our trays were always delivered with a smile! We could easily walk to most of the major sights of the city, and were delighted to discover a great Middle Eastern restaurant just across Via Roma from the piazza (it was a nice break from the classic Italian fare we had been having for 3 weeks!). Marta, our host, was very attentive and helpful, and made sure that our stay was very enjoyable!

A cautionary note for some travelers -- the staircases are quite steep and narrow. You need to climb four flights to the higher rooms.

The host Martha was very friendly and open. We were given a very friendly welcome and were helped with our suitcases straight away. Martha immediately offered us something to drink and gave us all the important information about our stay as well as interesting information about Palermo. The breakfast was delicious! Especially the fruit and the blood orange juice. The accommodation is very central, so you can easily get everywhere on foot. We felt comfortable during our entire stay and would come back anytime! Thank you very much!

- Great location, very near to the bars and restaurants in old town/vucciria but property is on a quiet street so away from the noise - Late self check in possible if you let the owner know before, this was a lifesaver for us as we had a late flight - rooms were decorated very nicely and in keeping with the old building style - nice breakfast in the morning, generous portions - 10 min walk to the street where most of the car hire places are in the city centre if picking up from there

I didn't like that we didn't stay long enough, wish we were here longer!

The room was clean with a desk and small table and a large armoire so we had plenty of room to place our stuff. The balcony was appreciated and the AC worked well. The two flights of narrow stairs were a long haul each time we left the building. You could see the other residents puffing too as they went up and down (especially those on the 4td floor). But the staff were really lovely and helpful. Fabiola brought very good breakfasts each morning. Tender scrambled eggs, fresh juices, cappuccino, flaky croissants and even one morning a delicious freshly filled canolli. Marta was always ready to help. She provided an excellent list of good restaurants, nearby, and things to do. She has Maps available in the entrance/office. The location is great with some  good restaurants right in the area. Steps away is a beautiful cathedral and a large Piazza. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. (The price is reasonable and makes up for the stairs.)

Lovely location and staff that go out of their way to help you. Good selection for breakfast. Tremendously friendly and kind people. I can't thank them enough. Especially Marta is something of a hotel superstar, one of the best managers I have ever met. Compfortable beds, spacious rooms with traditional tiles, giving a luxurious feeling. Good air-condition.

The stairs are a challenge, so be prepared! And the bar on the street beneath played very loud music on the weekend. I had some issues with the son of the man who picked me up at the airport, he was quite rude to me.

The apartment was in an ideal location: super close to all the life and fun of the Via Maqueda/Via Vitt Emm, but in an area that felt slightly less touristy. (Although it was no less beautiful - the local squares are stunning and offer great food opportunities). The staff were welcoming and clear in communication. The apartment was spacious, and the rooftop terrace was a real bonus.

The beds were quite hard.

Perfect location in Palermo! It is a great wee area & could've spent much longer here. Several places to eat/drink literally on the doorstep. A couple of nights there was entertainment in local restaurants but not excessive and didn't go on late. Great to experience living in traditional type building with big wooden front door and balcony/shutters. We were in Triple room with terrace; room was very spacious ; there was glass staircase in the room to a roof terrace & a biggish step up to access (this was a little bit freaky to walk up & would be tricky if you had fear of heights). It was a bit tricky to carry breakfast up to rooftop but totally doable & worth it ! The terrace space was just lovely! I loved the big window & the shutters in the room overlooking the street/entrance area below! Defo need to be fit to stay here as is up 51 steps & staircase a bit narrow in places; (my husband counted); I booked & had not checked that there was no lift & we had to carry our suitcases; that was my error and otherwise it was a great place to stay. Marta was so helpful & provided lots of local information. I had a big birthday & my brother had secretly communicated with them & they arrived with flowers, bubbles & birthday cake (was a local/Sicilian cake which was divine!!) Big thank you again to all who helped to arrange this!! We drank the bubbles on the roof terrace which was lovely also. There was a little communal area outside the room which was handy. We had a hired car - parking locally would be very tricky but we guessed it might be and had already decided to take car back to airport once we'd checked in; very glad we did that!! Everywhere is easily accessed on foot!! Overall was wonderful!!

Not ideal if you have lots of luggage!! ( not a complaint just a comment, as I accidentally hadn't noticed there was no lift when booking)

The location, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious with good options, Marta was an awesome host and all the staff were so friendly! Terrace was beautiful too! All in all just an awesome place.

Nothing! Just beware there are a few stairs to get to the room but a little exercise never hurts anyone!!

Have stayed in this property on two occasions. I love the location and the place is immaculately clean. It’s not very easily accessed by older people or anyone with walking problems (because of the narrow, winding stairs) but otherwise it’s almost perfect. Having stayed last time in the room with access to the rooftop terrace, I was disappointed this time to discover the other rooms have no similar access. So be sure to request the rooftop access room if you want the best option. Recommended.

Massiciliano was a wonderful host and helped us with many questions we had. He looked for help if he did not know the answer and was quick to be of service to us the week we were there. The breakfasts were amazing, with choices everyday and the amount of food given far surpassed our expectations. His father, who cooked for us was very sweet and charming, much like my Sicilian grandfather was to me. All in all, it was a delightful experience and we would come back if we ever have the chance to travel to Sicily in the future.

We have no complaints.
