Amazing place! Family owned with very accommodating and nice staff. Very tasty breakfast in the garden with lovely views. The owner who lived in Positano his whole life added to the charm of this place. Rooms had everything you’d possibly need, bonus: big balcony with chairs to lay. The hotel doesn’t have many rooms so everything seemed intimate and calm. Of course you need to take stairs to get everywhere, but it’s not a long walk down to the beach and even shorter walk up to restaurants. If we come back to Positano we will be staying here again. Cuddly cats on the property - another big plus!

We mostly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dimora Fornillo. We were grateful to have found a spot in Positano that was more reasonably priced compared to other nearby hotels. We loved the charming decor and the staff were very sweet and accommodating. The staff were great with their communication before our arrival, offering to help arrange excursions, restaurant reservations, and porter services for our luggage. Our room was quite spacious and had a door to the back terrace that had an amazing view of the coast- one of the mornings we had breakfast outside and it was gorgeous!

We found the facilities to be a bit outdated. The bed was quite uncomfortable and firm with thin blankets and pillows. The shower was good enough, but could probably use a good deep clean. The walls appeared to have old peeling paint. Another thing to consider- but we knew this before we booked- is the number of steps it takes to get to the hotel- just something to consider as it was quite tiring!

View from picture window was glorious, overlooking mountains and sea. Hotel is in the nicest quietest part of Positano. The hotel was very comfortable, we had a large room with a sofa and a private section of balcony with loungers. Breakfast was served in the garden. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful and even voluntarily carried our bags up hundreds of steps. Hotel is gated both from road and beach. Beach is reached by steps.

We had a wonderful time, but be aware that you will comfortably reach the medically advised step count!

A beautiful location with fantastic views above Fornillo beach which we thought was much nicer than the main Positano beach. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The room opened onto a private garden area with sun beds which would be a real benefit for a longer stay. We enjoyed eating at Lo Guarracino and Hotel Pupetto which are nearby.

Nothing to dislike. As in all of Positano be prepared for steep climbs up and down steps.

Very friendly staff, everyone was very helpful and always with a smile 😊. The hotel is very close to the beach and not far from town. Beautiful views. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

The shower was a bit small and the internet wouldn’t reach our bedroom mostly where the bed was. Apart from that the stay was great

Dimora Fornillo was everything we were hoping for in Positano, which was our favorite place in the Amalfi Coast! We got a room with a balcony looking over their lovely garden and it was worth every euro! The garden where we had very good breakfast and sat out in the evening was absolutely beautiful. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming and provided great advice on various matters: ferry, porters - see below for details - and a dinner at a lovely restaurant nearby ; "Il Saraceno d'Oro" . FERRY: keep in mind that Positano has a smaller harbor and that means that even when the weather turns a only little, there is a chance that ferries will be cancelled. The staff was very helpful in keeping us posted on what was going on with the ferries and assisting us with alternate taxi reservations in case of cancellation. At the end, we were very lucky and got on schedule to Amalfi. LUGGAGE/PORTERS: like most places in Positano, there is a lot and I mean A LOT - as in hundreds - of stairs to get to the hotel. We thought we were travelling light until then he, he so TRAVEL LIGHT! :-) . We did not know but you can contact them shortly before your arrival time and they will try to help you with luggage. On the way out they also recommended that we engage porters to get our luggage to the harbor and - while not cheap (15 euros per luggage) is also worth every bit!!! I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Positano! The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The views from the hotel were absolutely breathtaking - waking up to the sight of the sea and the colorful town was unforgettable. The location was perfect, and everything was clean and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back again. Thank you for making our stay so special!

We absolutely loved our time in Positano and at Hotel Dormora Fornillo! It's hard to decide what was the best part! Firstly, it has to be the super friendly and helpful staff. Tiziana was so attentive with our breakfast and remembering the things we liked over the 4 days, whilst also suggesting things we could try. Franko was so sweet from start to finish, suggesting the best ways to walk around and the best restaurants in Positano - and we can vouch for these as we tried every single one! He also carried our bags up to the road on the last day and we found him very very kind. Secondly, it has to be the view from our room - this was spectacular and I am so glad we opted for the sea view! :) There were plenty of steps but we actually found it very manageable given we could always choose to take the slightly longer but windy road back up to our hotel rather than the steep steps. Overall, a wonderful experience and we'd love to return! Thanks Hotel Dimora Fornillo!

The ONLY thing we didn't like so much was the rather out-dated hairdryer in the bathroom, but this is a tiny thing amongst a wonderful trip!

- Friendly and helpful staff - Amazing views from the garden terrace - Good value for money, walking distance to some great restaurants and beach clubs - Nice breakfast served on the terrace each morning - Room was clean and had good air conditioning

- Be aware of the many steps to access the property - Beds were too small - I am 174cm / 5ft 9” and found them short - No shower curtain

Loved the view and patio, how helpful and kind Franco always was, the morning breakfast, and it was in a good area between the less busy beach and town! I would happily stay here again!

The bathroom had an odd smell and the shower was tiny with changing water temps, but really that is the only complaint. It could definitely be remodeled soon and be 100% perfect.
