We mostly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Dimora Fornillo. We were grateful to have found a spot in Positano that was more reasonably priced compared to other nearby hotels. We loved the charming decor and the staff were very sweet and accommodating. The staff were great with their communication before our arrival, offering to help arrange excursions, restaurant reservations, and porter services for our luggage. Our room was quite spacious and had a door to the back terrace that had an amazing view of the coast- one of the mornings we had breakfast outside and it was gorgeous!

We found the facilities to be a bit outdated. The bed was quite uncomfortable and firm with thin blankets and pillows. The shower was good enough, but could probably use a good deep clean. The walls appeared to have old peeling paint. Another thing to consider- but we knew this before we booked- is the number of steps it takes to get to the hotel- just something to consider as it was quite tiring!

Very friendly staff, everyone was very helpful and always with a smile 😊. The hotel is very close to the beach and not far from town. Beautiful views. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

The shower was a bit small and the internet wouldn’t reach our bedroom mostly where the bed was. Apart from that the stay was great

Dimora Fornillo was everything we were hoping for in Positano, which was our favorite place in the Amalfi Coast! We got a room with a balcony looking over their lovely garden and it was worth every euro! The garden where we had very good breakfast and sat out in the evening was absolutely beautiful. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming and provided great advice on various matters: ferry, porters - see below for details - and a dinner at a lovely restaurant nearby ; "Il Saraceno d'Oro" . FERRY: keep in mind that Positano has a smaller harbor and that means that even when the weather turns a only little, there is a chance that ferries will be cancelled. The staff was very helpful in keeping us posted on what was going on with the ferries and assisting us with alternate taxi reservations in case of cancellation. At the end, we were very lucky and got on schedule to Amalfi. LUGGAGE/PORTERS: like most places in Positano, there is a lot and I mean A LOT - as in hundreds - of stairs to get to the hotel. We thought we were travelling light until then he, he so TRAVEL LIGHT! :-) . We did not know but you can contact them shortly before your arrival time and they will try to help you with luggage. On the way out they also recommended that we engage porters to get our luggage to the harbor and - while not cheap (15 euros per luggage) is also worth every bit!!! We absolutely loved our time in Positano and at Hotel Dormora Fornillo! It's hard to decide what was the best part! Firstly, it has to be the super friendly and helpful staff. Tiziana was so attentive with our breakfast and remembering the things we liked over the 4 days, whilst also suggesting things we could try. Franko was so sweet from start to finish, suggesting the best ways to walk around and the best restaurants in Positano - and we can vouch for these as we tried every single one! He also carried our bags up to the road on the last day and we found him very very kind. Secondly, it has to be the view from our room - this was spectacular and I am so glad we opted for the sea view! :) There were plenty of steps but we actually found it very manageable given we could always choose to take the slightly longer but windy road back up to our hotel rather than the steep steps. Overall, a wonderful experience and we'd love to return! Thanks Hotel Dimora Fornillo!

The ONLY thing we didn't like so much was the rather out-dated hairdryer in the bathroom, but this is a tiny thing amongst a wonderful trip!

The facilities were excellent and the view amazing. The staff all had a pleasant and friendly manner. They took care to find out how we were arriving. For us this was by car. We parked where they suggested and strong young men carried them down the hill on arrival. Then up the hill on departure. When it rained we could stay in our spacious room and watch the view. Great location for us too,

We LOVED our stay! The rooms were super clean and the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. It’s family run, and felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. The views are stunning and it’s in a great location just above the Fornilla beach area. We loved having our breakfast in the garden area with a view every morning! They even helped with baggage when checking in and leaving as well which was SO helpful. I can’t wait to come back!

it was better than I expected. Everyone spoke about the steps but it wasn’t too crazy. It’s wise to use steps to the beach on the way down and on the way back just use steps from the other direction to go down from the road The place was in a perfect location in my opinion as it was located in a less crowded space of positano, the other side can get very annoying as there are regular visitors to the town on a daily basis and it can get too busy. Also the room is huge and breakfast view is great. Lastly the staff is very kind and polite. Special thanks to the old man who kept looking after us. Definitely try Da Vicenza which is a Michelin star, unreal food and vibe. It’s great value for money in a super overpriced location with other hotels

The view from our room (57) was absolutely amazing. The room was spacious with a large terrace which had two sun loungers & an elegant table and chairs. The room also has a mini fridge. Breakfast was offered in the garden overlooking the bay and we were offered a good selection. There is a part private pathway and gate down to the beach, which cuts out a little of the 'hike'.

Obviously there are steps.....many, many steps. It's just part of the adventure but needs to be taken into account. There is a short walk from the drop off point to the hotel so it would be sensible not to go overloaded with bags. However, the hotel did bring our bags back up to the pick up point for us. I personally would have liked coffee making facilities in the room. The hair dryer isn't very powerful.

The location is between the beach and the town, so it is accessible and a good price. I really enjoyed the breakfast and the beach views! The staff is family and very respectful, plus friendly.

There were a lot of stairs, but this is Amalfi Coast! It would have been nice to have a screen door since there were mosquitos. There's nothing really I didn't like.

Very attentive wonderful people! Our stay was like a piece of heaven on Earth. The breakfast was nice and the place clean and comfortable. We had sunbeds on our balcony/terrace. The beach really close, and some wonderful restaurants nearby! The garden had amazing views, flowers and kitties. Going up and down the stairs its worth it but there are shortcuts with less stairs too, just ask the hosts. ♡ Thank you so much, we're looking forward to stay with you some other time soon!
