I really like the room, the terrace as well and the view from the terrace. Overall it was a fantastic hotel with a magnificent style.

What I didn't like is the fact that I had any notification about the closing of the pool and spa area on the days of our stay. I didn't even get this notification from the reception at the time of check-in, but we were simply notified by the person who accompanied us to the room. If I book(2 rooms) in a 5* hotel in February with indoor pool, with a certain price, I expect to use it , especially during week days in the afternoon when there is not much to do in the area. If I had the information I would have made a different choice, especially for my daughter. This doesn't seem correct at all from the hotel. I didn't do it a big deal at the reception not to lower the mood of the group but honestly seems intolerable.

Absolutely fantastic stop on our way to Spain. Our third stay in Rapallo and the best one. Beautiful sea view. Nice room with balcony. Extremely clean. Staff extraordinary. Johan especially. We heard the sea, the seagulls, the waves and the wind. Although you have the street below we haven’t realised it. It was far enough. Breakfast very good with amazing view. Dog friendly.

Nothing to complain. Room a little bit small, but for this price no reason to complain.

We had a classic double room, which was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking Rapallo harbour. The bathroom was great, very spacious. The hotel itself is stunning, old-world glamour and luxury, with wonderful staff, particularly the barman. The food was superb, we loved everything about it and would definitely come here again. It was raining heavily so we didn't explore the grounds, which just means we'll have to go again and do it next time. Loved Tequila, the hotel cat, who was a real bonus!

The shower (over the bath) was a little puny.

The hotel is lovely - build in 1901, remodeled and 2 more floors added in 1990'. Full of original old oil paintings and alike. The view from our balcony was amazing. The staff was lovely, kind, super professional and helpful. The pool area with the access to the see was amazing. They upgraded our room because we were traveling with our teenage daughter and our room had an extra single bed. Also, when I had some stomach pain in the evening, I asked for a banana and oatmeal with soy milk and they brought it in an instant. The room was made every day, they changed towels daily and they had a turndown service in the evening. The AC was quiet but efficient and very appreciated, as it was insanely hot.

The headboard in our room was peeling off. Literally. Also, the hallway carpet was not clean, and although the rooms were immaculate. Nothing that a good vacuuming won't fix.

Hotel location and its view is very nice. Building itself is old and historic with a lot of old paintings. There are lots of furnitures that makes takes your breath away. It has a self vibe which I can describe historic and unique.

The beach and the pool area were a total dissappointment, it was very very crowded and I was expecting more elegant people but when you see a lot of child screaming in the pool the whole area's vibe went down. If you are going this hotel because of it's beach & pool, please search somewhere else

The reception staff were delightful. We were upgraded, free of charge, to a superior room and it was absolutely superb. We had a small balcony from which we could see the harbour. There was everything in the room that you could want. Luxurious. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice.

Some of the male staff in the restaurants bordered on being rude. In the dining room for dinner, we were rushed to make choices and the lead waiter made us feel that we were doing him a real favour to eat there. At breakfast, one of the male waiters was also a bit off hand. Such a shame, as dining in a hotel like this one is part of the whole experience. No one should be made to feel uncomfortable. Without customers, they don't have jobs.

A beautiful hotel with wonderful vistas wonderful staff and fantastic facilities. The beach club is fantastic all be it without a beach but private access from your room to the club with heated pools, sun loungers, bar, snacks access to the sea etc. The food in the restaurant was excellent breakfast was excellent and we shall definitely be visiting again. Within easy reach of Portofino.

Drinks are a bit pricey in particular a very limited choice of wine by the glass and good wine by the bottle is quite expensive if drinking on your own

A wonderful hotel with history. The highest level of service, attention and attitude towards clients. Yes, the hotel may have some imperfections in the decoration of the rooms - it is not new, but it definitely has the spirit of the old school five-star luxury hotels that you feel when you cross the threshold. Classic disign, paintings on the walls, waiters in the white uniform... For us - we really liked everything - the quality of the room, the bed, the view, the service. Very tasty breakfast. Well equipped gym, heated pool. Free parking. Will return here again with great pleasure.

Very nice hotel, very good breakfast, nice big room ( perhaps bigger than booked ), nice pool and gym, nice interior, paring just outside the entrance, location few minutes walk from Rapallo city centre

We had 3 course dinner one evening, which was very disappointing. Pretty expensive dinner and I was expecting a gourmet meal, but the food was not tasty at all. My advise is to eat in a restaurant down town instead. It would be nice to have some info about the hotel in each room: opening times in restaurant, bars, spa, pool, wifi access etc. And if possible some info about the building, what to and see in the area etc
