what was not right was that the hotel demanded payment from its own guests (50 euros per day) for using the hotel beach. It's "amazing" how greedy someone can be...

Perfectly good room. Not huge and not much character, but comfortable, well air-conditioned, and enough space to leave my suitcase open on the floor. Bathroom small but fine. No view, and not on the beach, but right across the road from it, and right at the bottom of the trail to walk to Portofino through the hills. 24/7 front desk, so arriving late was no problem. Given how little space there is in and around Portofino I think this was a good find.

I could see out through the floor to ceiling balcony windows even when the curtains were closed, so I suppose people outside could see in at night when I had the light on. The parking worked fine for me because I found a normal space, but I understood that if I hadn't found a normal space I would have had to go to the back of the lot to have my car lifted into a space by a machine.

We stayed at Hotel Reina for two nights. Having a private parking area is a big plus — it costs €25 per night. It may seem expensive, but you won’t find a better option nearby. Breakfast is quite good. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi are so much fun! The hotel is very clean. If you want to go to Portofino, I definitely don’t recommend driving. Public transport is much more practical — parking is hard to find and very expensive. If you want to swim, I recommend the hotel’s own beach. It’s very cute and the prices are reasonable. You have to pay an entrance fee, but this is normal for the area. Overall, we were very happy with the hotel. By the way, we stayed three people in the same room and the size was perfectly fine.

Great hi tech car parking system - great reception staff and everyone in fact was so professional and willing to help

The little electric bus for portafino stops right outside the hotel - when you download the AMT app and buy the tickets they only last an hour - in that hour 4 buses came out of st Margarita ligure all packed like sardines and the sign said full before it even reached our stop and continued - 2 sets of tickets expired on us €20 - in the peak season just be careful a taxi the few miles down to portafino was €50 one way

We stayed in the Dependence part of the hotel - which is an annex to the main hotel. We were aware of this in advance and expected to be in this location. We were able to use all the facilities of the hotel including the rooftop pool and beach club. Lovely location - good breakfast for €10 if booked in advance

All was good - just be aware if you're staying in the Dependence that the rooms are slightly smaller

Small room but comfortable and clean. Good shower. Secure motorcycle parking (although at a cost). Had a good evening meal and breakfast was good and excellent value at 10 euros per person. Wonderful location.

Cost - 250 euros totally over the top and overlooking the car park but if you want to stay anywhere on the peninsula then you have to pay exorbitant prices.

This review is not for the Regina Elena Dépendance but for the main hotel Best Western Regina Elena where we stayed for 4 days. I had originally booked the Dépendance not being aware that they were 2 separate buildings. We wanted a sea view with a terrace and this was not available in The Dépendance part. On arrival went to the main reception and Francesca the lady in charge was very helpful and switched us to a fabulous room with views and balcony of course with an extra to pay but we were happy to so. Francesca helped us also for our visit to Cinque Terre which was fabulous, finally we took a train to Monterosso and then did the villages by boat. The best Western provides private parking which is a real bonus, it is close to shops, restaurants and public transport , so great location. Room was spacious with comfortable bedding and a very good bathroom. Breakfast was very copious with an amazing choice. All the staff was courteous and helpful. Would very happily come back and thank you to you all for a great stay.

Everything was good but somehow the cost of 50 Euros per day for 2 sun beds by the beach was a little high so we did use them. Wish we had known this in advance.

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The location was lovely, overlooking the bay and with mountains in the distance. The hotel is right on the bus route with a stop outside that takes you into Portofino.

The lack of plugs and the location of them in the room made it difficult to charge our devices. The bar was a bit strange and the barman was banging around. The parking wasn't cheap but it is what it is.

Breakfast was great! Location was great! Location was clean. Loved that it had a rooftop to hang out at. Although we did not order drinks to the rooftop, that was a nice option to have.

We were placed in the ANNEX part of the hotel. It was an older building off to the side of the main hotel with not much space in the room. Would have been nice to know in advance. The reception to the TV was bad the first night. Although the mini-fridge did not work when we first arrived, staff tried to address this shortly after we complained.

Fantastic Location, rooms were super clean and the staff were very friendly welcoming and helpful. Great stay over all.

The rooms are compact which is fine however I would try to figure out how to put a small set of drawers to put ones clothes in.. if one is staying longer. Also a proper foldable luggage rack, some bottles of water would have been nice.. even if you have to buy them.
