The Palazzo Rivizza is located within walking distance to much of Siena's tourist attractions and many excellent restaurants and shops. The hotel could also be a good " base" to visit other Tuscan places and sights. The accommodations were comfortable and clean , and there wasn't a detail overlooked during my 5 night stay. There's large rooms, a large comfortable bed, the bathroom is large. Sitting areas are expressive of beautiful and articulate late 19th century decor. There was a full breakfast included, which, as you see in the pictures, is expansive and delicous. The garden, courtyard overlooking a great view of part of Siena and opportunity for a picture or two shouldn't be missed. Taxi was called for at my checkout time. The train station ride will be about 10 to 15 euro cost one way. There is , and there's a fee for parking . Don't know about this, my travel was by train . I will definitely return to Palazzo Ravizza if I travel back to Tuscany. This hotel is exceptional.

There is nothing to dislike.

This hotel exceeded our expectations and I would not hesitate to stay again. The superior double with garden view room was beautiful with a stunning view of the Tuscan hills that really felt like you were living in Italy. It was a very quiet location albeit a little walk from the station but totally worth it for the views and it was very close to good restaurants and the main sights. The free breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit and home made pastries/cakes and choice of coffee. The terrace absolutely makes this hotel, the view while you eat breakfast or have an afternoon drink is worth the booking of this hotel. The interior is rather historical but that added to the charm and the room was comfortable with a modern bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was excellent value for money and we loved Siena, would recommend to anyone looking for a piece of true Tuscany and peaceful stay during their stay in Italy.

There was nothing for us but note we travelled by train and walked from the station which was further than other hotels and hilly so hard with back packs but again totally worth it for this hotel location and we would do it again. Would recommend a taxi though if mobility an issue.

Incredible view from the hotel terrace, great breakfast, lovely part of Siena. I was nervous about navigating the ZTLs given that this hotel is inside the zone, but the staff at reception were very thorough both in the lead up to our stay and during it, about how to park the car and what to do in order to avoid paying a fee. It was surprisingly easy!

Nothing big comes to mind. I think it would be good if they didn't allow people to smoke on the terrace, especially during breakfast. Or maybe to restrict smoking to a different outdoor area. It wasn't that nice to be drinking morning coffee and breathing in smoke.

An old palazzo, full of character and with a pretty terrace garden (which unfortunately we didn’t use because it was so wet!). Breakfast is ‘not included and complimentary’ but very good, with help yourself to fresh fruit, coffee, bread and cheese etc. We had a large standard room with character bathroom. Very comfortable large bed with lovely soft pillows. Situated within walking distance of all the major attractions and near lots of good restaurants. Nice lounge sitting area on first floor where one could play the piano.

Our shower had lots of hot water but controlled by taps, no thermostat so could be too hot or cold suddenly. Mainly the staff were very nice except for one reception lady who was rather sarcastic. The only way of opening a window in our room was to climb on to a ledge underneath. It overlooked the street so lots of early morning noise (room 2). There was air con but pretty feeble.

I did not know of this hotel inside the walls - the staff was extremely helpful - especially getting my early morning cab, holding my luggage before official check in - the back outdoor area is beautiful for a breakfast - the room was large, comfortable - maybe a little outdated but you are in old town, old buildings. AC was great. I was very pleased especially as it was last minute booking as well as the Palio event was postponed one day - the biggest day of the year for Siena and the hotel did not increase pricing as most would. I would stay here again for a short stay.

I can't think of anything negative.

Property was in a nice quiet corner of Siena and with stunning view of Tuscany landscape. Our room has excellent views Simple but decent breakfast provided, which was a pleasant surprise as we were told no bf provided when booking.

No AC in the room so windows have to be left open and there were some insects/flies came in. Parking instruction was a nightmare and I had to walk back twice in order to be able to park inside the hotel property. I had asked my wife to wait at the lobby while I proceeded to park my car. The lady at the reception commented that I should have had my wife accompany me when I park my car so that she could guide me. While there may have been some truth in it, I felt it wasn’t necessary a very helpful comment at that point. The manner that she told me was more like ‘I told you so’. They do charge for parking fee for hotel guests while other places provide free parking. Would be nice if it was free :)

Lovely older style, quiet spacious room - the gorgeous view, comfy large bed and the desk were all greatly appreciated. Great position on the edge of the old town with panoramic views of the valley made for a perfect spot for breakfast and an evening drink.

I would have appreciated the reception staff telling me there was a bar - the drink on the terrace was wonderful when I belatedly found out about it on my 2nd night! When I arrived the air-conditioning wasn't working in the room but it was very promptly fixed. A few more smiles from the reception staff would have been appreciated - felt like I got them at a grumpy time.

Wonderful hotel for a perfect stay in Siena. The palazzo itself is a wonderful house, perfectly furnished with antiques. The staff is very kind and competent. The rooms are small, but perfectly designed and the view (ask for garden view) is breathtaking. The breakfast is rather more like a minimum service, but this is really great and adequate, there is all you need for breakfast, fruits, bread, cornettos, without any unnecessary bells and whistles. Parking was also great. They have a parking space, which you unfortunately can not reserve. You have to drive to the hotel on a strictly determined way, then they tell you whether you can use a parking space or not, they will inform the police about your license plate and then you have to drive to the parking space also on a restricted way. From the parking space, you can directly walk some stairs through the terassed garden to the hotel. Perfect! In the afternoon, the bar serves drinks, which you can take into the garden. The garden... The garden is the very best thing among all the other beauty and style in that hotel. It is beautifully designed, You can sit in front of a parapet and look over the Chianti area. There is a turtle living in the garden, I have not seen it, but others have. And of course there are lizards enjoying the sun.

More Coffee in the morning

Breakfast was ample, plenty of choices, excellent fresh fruit. Location great, away from the noise of traffic and late-night revelers but close enough to walk no more than 15-20 minutes to restaurants and very convenient to major sites (Duomo, museums, ecc). Lovely garden, well-curated lending library.

The mattress was not very comfortable, too firm for our taste. The toilet paper holder was not properly fixed to the wall and repeatedly fell onto the floor. Corridors were unusually warm, felt overheated and rather stuffy while the breakfast room was chilly. All minor quibbles in an otherwise pleasant stay.

I will never forget the rush of joy I felt when I opened the shutters and was greeted with those Tuscan hills. Absolutely breathtaking. Breakfast was complimentary and the lovely guy on duty was warm, friendly and helpful. The property is in the most perfect location, just a short walk from the center. The receptionist helped me arrange a taxi to the train station and assured me that a train to Pisa for my flight home was doable. This was my first trip as a solo traveler for some time, and knowing that I can return to you in Siena means it wont be my last. Thank you for your fabulous hospitality.
