We loved the hotel! The staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome. The hotel has a gorgeous pool with amazing views of sorrento. This hotel is about 15 mins of a walk away from the main streets of sorrento with steep stairs,however there is a bus which can take you from the marina (something we found out late into the holiday).

The only issue we had with the property on the trip was the bed- we had asked for a double bed and upon arrival found it was two singles pushed together. The two single beds were not the same height and one bed sank in the middle. We asked at reception if we could have a fitted sheet to keep the two beds together and they said there was nothing they could do. Near the end of our stay we discovered that one of the beds was actually broken and this is why there was such a dramatic dip in the height.

Not only was that the hotel beautifully located but the staff were absolutely wonderful. I was very lucky to get engaged on this trip and the treatment I received from staff passing on the congratulations and well wishes was just unlike anything I could’ve imagined the hotel itself is beautiful and really well kept. There’s absolutely nothing that would put me off going again, however the decor of the rooms was a little wild. Our headboard was bright red along with the all the many lampshade… which definitely set an atmosphere. The only other comment I have to make is the left was very small and temperamental.

Hotel Admiral is a gem of a hotel, the photos don't do it justice. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, we had wonderful rooms at the front of the hotel with large balconies and spectacular views/sunsets. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful with enquiries, including excursions, ordering taxis, transfers to airport. The Bar terrace is large again with amazing views and serve a large selection of cocktails. The breakfast in the morning has an excellent selection. Overall, we were delighted we choose Hotel Admiral and would definitely go back again.

The hotel was positioned beautifully overlooking the sea, marina and across to the volcano. The Grand Marina is alive with bars, restaurants and a little grocery store. There for 5 days, we didn't need to stray away from the marina, however a 20 min walk ( fairly steep but quaint) will get you to the main part of town for more eating and shopping. There is a bus there from the marina for a couple of euros. Hotel had a small pool and sun bathing area overlooking the sea. We had a 4th floor room which had a terraced balcony with wonderful views and because of the positioning of the hotel, got the sun later in the day than the hotel pool terrace area as the sun sets over the hill immediately behind the hotel. The staff were all very helpful and the hotel was kept spotless. A superb breakfast with something for everyone, pastries to smoke salmon. It doesn't get the sunset, but a 2 minute walk into the marina area achieves that and is well worth it, as every night was stunning. Would we return? Absolutely yes!

Apart from the short cocktail happy hour I thought the drinks were expensive. Upon arrival, (being very hot) we had a quick drink. A medium sized beer and a malibu/coke was €23. This immediately put us off drinking in the hotel when the same drink in the marina would be €16. I thought the hotel has missed a trick, a little more effort to retain its guests in the evening would bring benefits I'm sure. A more competitively priced bar and menu, maybe themed evenings BBQs etc might retain the guests. Such a shame as the tabled area overlooking the marina and the volcano was a wonderful setting. We would and will return, some of the suggestions above if adopted, would be the cherry on the cake.

Waking up to the sound of the sea was beyond words. The views across The Bay of Naples was iconic. There are not many hotels that hover so close to the sea in all of Sorrento. Those that do cost a fortune. The staff were friendly and the service was very good. The hotel offered exceptionally great value! Stay here and wake up to the sound of the sea with the wonderful view!

We note that some other reviews were critical of the bathrooms, however they were clean and fresh. Perhaps replacing showers curtains with glass screens would be an effective update. People say it is located away from the centre of town, but it was an easy 10 minute stroll to town, coming back felt like returning to the calm of a hidden gem… EXCEPTIONAL! :-)

Breakfast options were very good, the reception, lounge, pool and dining area are very nice. The lift, hallways and rooms arent the best, the rooms are ok in terms of space with wonderful view of the sea, although mattress wasnt great and there was no kettle in the room, which was a little frustrating. Small TV present, but we never used it.

Mattress, amenities in room, location is great, but requires a walk to get into and around sorrento main hubs, so just be aware. Lift was small, sky bar was supposed to be open most evenings, but only was open on the saturday night.

Location away from the Main Street of Sorrento, perfect for us. Great selection at breakfast and good quality. Nice bar and restaurant, however we didn’t have an evening meal there. Very clean and comfortable, all staff very friendly and helpful. Local bus service from marina takes you into town for either €1.40 or €2.

No chef to cook eggs to order at breakfast on a couple of mornings, there were scrabbled eggs on the buffet. Toaster needs repair or replacing as it takes for ever to make a piece of toast. The bathrooms could do with modernisation, however they were clean and functional.

Loved the location of this hotel, right on the pretty marina close by to a beach and restaurants. It was a 10 minute walk into sorrento town. There is parking at the hotel but it is a tight squeeze to get there, cost around 30 euros per day but perfect for convenience.

The hotel and rooms were quite outdated and the balconies were not very private. Not many sun loungers either but beach is a short walk so we didn’t mind too much. The breakfast was not great either, we chose not to eat there after our first night. The location really does sell this hotel so we would go back for this reason.

Loved everything about this great hotel. A very warm welcome from receptionists, lots of information about the hotel and city. Our was beautifully cool for the high temperatures. We had a wonderful private balcony with loungers and table and chairs. The view from our balcony was stunning of the bay of Sorrento as well as Mount Vesuvius across the bay. Breakfast was perfectly varied and dinner on both nights was delicious as well as a packed breakfast to take with us on the morning of an early departure. Staff were attentive and so friendly. Staff were amazing, location amazing, cleanliness amazing. Location is great but need to stress how many steps there are to get there and back to town. Dinner there was OK but not as good as in town, great location overlooking water and Vesuvius but standard of food was not good enough for the location.

There is no vehicle access at all, it's at the end of a cobbled pedestrian area so heavy bags are a drama. That's only an issue when you get there and when you leave but needs to be really clear in advertising
