Very friendly and helpful staff. I truly felt like a guest at my Italian friends’ home rather than just a hotel visitor. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, and the breakfasts especially heartwarming — delicious food in a relaxed setting made every morning special. Comfortable rooms and excellent service made our stay in Sorrento unforgettable.

I didn’t like that we were given a room on the fourth floor, and each time we had to climb up four floors. Of course, that’s a joke :)). It was actually a good way to make up for all the pastas and pizza we ate. We had a great time; everything was excellent.

The staff of Luciana, Alessandra, Michel, and Celia made us feel completely at home at Palazzo Starace. They gave us their “hometown view” on what to do in Sorrento and across the Amalfi coast. Over time, they became part of our extended family. Palazzo Starace is a beautiful example of Italian architecture directly on Corso Italia and steps from Tasso Square. The staff maintains Palazzo Starace perfectly clean. The breakfast buffet had many options and was the perfect way to start our day. My wife and I spent all of March 2025 there and we were sad to leave. Palazzo Starace is the only place we will stay in Sorrento in the future.

I would not change anything about Palazzo Starace.

The location was amazing. The hotel is just in the main street of Sorrento, which is very convenient. The hotel only consists of stairs, but that is pretty common in southern Italy so it was no issue for us as we have already expected it, but the hotel has a specific lift for the luggage which we thought is a great touch. The hotel room and the common areas were very clean. The staff was perfect. They were all very kind, helpful and warm.The breakfast buffet was very nice. I wouldn’t say we didn’t like it, but our room did not have a double bed. It had separate one person beds, combined into a double bed, which was sometimes uncomfortable. I would have preferred a double bed when I booked a room with a double bed. This being said it was not a big issue the hotel is very good overall especially for its price and location. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Sorrento.

Staff was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They helped with luggage. They made us coffee and scrambled eggs in the morning. They called the parking shuttle for us. Breakfast each morning was a treat, with a good assortment of food, coffee, and juice. The room was clean and spacious (plenty of room for the four of us) and had a balcony with a nice view. We would definitely stay at Palazzo Starace again.

As has been the case with many hotels and apartments we've stayed at throughout the world, the bathroom drains do not smell good. Sanitizing drains with bleach and then maintaining with bleach, vinegar, drain cleaner, etc. would be ideal.

It was a very nice location, as it is in a pedestrian area. It can be noisy at night because of the local bars, but it didn't bother me, as the partying was done by midnight. The rooms were small but that's expected, but very clean! There is no elevator, so it was a lot of stairs, but again, I didn't mind the stairs. If someone has a disability, then this would not do to stay here. The breakfast was lovely! We were fortunate to have beautiful weather! I would stay here again.

Excellent location, right in the heart of Sorrento, and only 10 mins walk from the train and bus station. Our room, overlooking an internal courtyard, was very quiet and clean. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was excellent, with coffee and eggs made to order, freshly-squeezed orange juice, and superb homemade cakes.

The temparature control panel was rather bright at night, but I fixed this by hanging a light raincoat over it. A kettle in the room would have been useful for afternoon/evening tea.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, being minutes from the ferries and many restaurants and shops. The room was clean. The breakfast was very good. The luggage lift was helpful. Some of our favourite places nearby were the Lanterna restaurant, Kayak Sorrento, and lunch at the Pergola, Hotel Bellevue Syrene.

We hoped for a double bed but they were 2 twin beds pushed together. We knew this might be the case. We would have liked a bath but knew in advance that there would be a shower and no tub. The air conditioning stopped working but this was solved by using a remote instead of the wall control.

We appreciated the centralized location of this precious boutique hotel to the main pedestrian street in Sorrento with lovely shops, cafes and restaurants immediately accessible. The owner Luciana was delightful and her staff (specifically Alexandria and Maria) were so warm and welcoming that we felt at home immediately. Our rooms were clean and bright, my mother’s had a balcony with a beautiful view including a birds eye view to the street below, fun for people watching. The breakfast offered was exceptional! They offer a wide range of healthy and delicious choices, with eggs made to preference and rich and creamy cappuccinos. We cannot express in mere words the collective senses of well being that Palazzo Starace offers. One must experience personally. Brava!

The staff were so helpful and friendly, felt very safe and secure, the location was perfect, the shuttle for parking was super reliable,, the most impressive part of our stay was the breakfast that was included, omg delicious way to kick start the day.

Not a huge deal but not a great view from the room, but if you spend all day sightseeing that isn't a big deal. Nothing we didnt like.

The location of this hotel was great, a few minutes from Piazza Tasso and nearby cafes and shops. The breakfast was brilliant and the hosts were very charming and prepared freshly made eggs for us on request. The hosts were very caring and attentive and as we were there with our elderly father , 91 (and who become unwell during the stay) they were excellent in their attentivness towards us and I couldnt be more grateful to Luciana at reception as she went out of her way to assist me.
