Great breakfast buffet and comfortable rooms.

There are 37 outside steps to navigate to reach this hotel. I had a difficult time negotiating these stairs.

Amazing view from room, breakfast area, and mostly everwhere from the hotel. On my wifes birthday we found a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket with 2 champagne glasses, which was very nice of them to give free of charge. All staff are very well trained and give amazing service. The hotels location is probably one of the best as its within walking distance (3 to 4 min) to the most popular street Corso Umberto.

Our room was on the sixth floor which is right underneath the restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served, so if you dont wake up by 6.45am, its probably the worst place as it gets noisy after that time as you can hear the trolleys and chairs moving.

This hotel is prime location in Taormina and the views are breathtaking! Literally minutes away from all the restaurants, main scene of Taormina and right next to Villa Comunale di Taormina. The breakfast was really good, the pool was great and the entire staff, pool included, was wonderful. The guy that works at the pool bar is just a delight! On our first night they gave us a room on the first floor, and I asked if we could be moved to a higher floor. They said that there wasnt any availability that day but they would let us know for the next. Without us reaching out again, the called us first thing in the morning the next day to move us to a room on a higher floor. I thought that was top notch costumer service.

As people have mentioned, the rooms could use a little love and a more modern touch, but other than that, considering how expensive is Taormina, specially hotels with pools, I think is a good value for the price.

We are very picky travelers, but this is an incredible hotel, extremely clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We have stayed at many hotels in Taormina, and this is one of our favorites. The room was immaculate, the views were spectacular, and we enjoyed conversation with all of the staff. Pancrazzio and Antonio made our stay extra special. They made sure we were happy with everything, made our drinks perfect and had shared laughs. Nino at the pool was also excellent.

If I had to say something, the bathrooms could be more modern and have better drains for the water to go down, but it didn’t affect our stay at all — they were extremely clean.

The view, the view. Great location. We took the junior suite with balcony and view; great choice. Easy walk to amphitheater, Duomo and the cable car to Isola Bella. The staff were great, especially Francesca. She was the trainee with excellent English having studies International Relations in the UK. She was informative and very helpful. The valet/portiere who helped with our baggage was very helpful too. We also enjoyed the cool water with lemon and sweets too 😋

To reach it you need to go down a steep hill. This is not a problem at all but just something to bear in mind.

Staff very friendly throughout the hotel. Great to get pool towels and nice bar and restaurant at pool. Breakfast was great with a great variety to choose from.

There is a steep hill to hotel entrance. We had to make our way down with two 20kg bags as there was no driver to come up and collect them. Our private transfer wouldn’t come down to collect our bags when leaving but luckily very nice receptionist got them brought to the top 😊. Not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties.

Great views and pool. We liked the iconic brutalist architecture and 60s-style interior design. Very stylish. Lovely lady on reception with superb English. Easy walk into Taormina centre and right by the communal gardens which added cooling effect of the trees and great bird and butterfly wildlife.

It’s a little pricey but the only place we could afford up in Taormina itself with a pool. Not as expensive as the 5* hotels a little higher up.

This was our third stay in Monte Tauro and definitely will be not the last,and very emotional.. This hotel have one of the best views in all Taormina but this is not the most impressive one,this hotel have one AMAZING STAFF FROM THE FIRST TIILL THE LAST!!THEY ARE NOT ONLY A STAFF THEY ARE LIKE FAMILY! We never met so helpful and humans people! Location was great for proximity to shops and restaurants but a big walk to the beach. We used the cable car for our return to avoid the steep and long uphill walk. Breakfast offered a broad variety and great views. Compliments to the breakfast staff who were very friendly and helpful.

Overall was not bad but looking at value for money was expensive. Like many hotels in Italy we found were in need of repair work. Shame the pool was closed by 6pm and day 3 of our stay.November 1 the pool was closed completely for early Winter. The photos on the website are not indicative of the Junior suite we had and not well planned or styled.TV was in the bedroom and the lounge/desk area had inadequate lighting for reading/working. We chose this thinking we would have more floorspace but the design of divided rooms made it feel crammed. perhaps better suited f or a family This hotel came highly recommended by a friend but we were rather disappointed on this visit.

Great location , although not suitable for people with limited mobility as steep hill to and from hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly, amazing views from hotel and located well . Nice little restaurant at the top of the hill from hotel with stunning views great access to everything in Taormina. Room spacious and clean with private balcony
