Despite a one-night stay, we enjoyed our time exploring the property its facilities and were greeted by lovely staff, we didn't stay for breakfast but were provided a box for our early flight which was a lovely attention. Our room was spacious, simple yet had an air of elegance and history, our bathroom was stunning in marble with a bathtub and functioning jacuzzi which we took advantage of. If we had time we would have explored the spa facilities as they looked beautiful and the prices for their services were very reasonable. We did not dine, however, they had a lovely range of menu items in their restaurant although I was craving a particular pasta so we had to outsource our food. Their bar was lovely and seating area was large and refined.

Nothing to say about what I didn't like but it was a shame we couldn't go in the outdoor pool as it's a seasonal opening which we understand. We did notice a certain demographic of people, much older, we are a very young couple so one can presume it's not often they receive young visitors and seems like a historic hotel, but that didn't bother my partner and I as much. Perhaps the only thing that was too historic was the elevator as it was a bit slow, but we weren't in any rush! Lovely overall.

Very nice place, hotel is from the year 1913. Somewhere you can see that some maintenance would be welcomed, but actually everything was working. Large parking place in front of the hotel, there is a spot for electric car as well, comfortable beds, temperature, very good breakfast, nice view from hotel room (additional fee, if you want valley / mountains view). Staff was also nice, english speaking. Check in / out quick and easy.

There is a slow elevator, one day was broken, to get to 5th floor was challenge. Also, to take the shuttle from the city you have to book it on the reception, that we did not know. No problem to take taxi but anyway.

Very quiet, clean and nice smelling room, warm room and corridors, comfortable matts and pillows. People were nice and attentive. The breakfast was good, tasty and plentiful. Large private and free parking. Very good value for the money overall. Loved the vintage and stylish furniture!

The location - on a hill and accessible by car only, otherwise a loong walk up and down. It took a good 5 min. to get hot water running, every time, probably due to old and uninsulated pipes (that were also making noise). The keys to the rooms were standard and attached to heavy metal number plates - perhaps upgrading to door cards would not interfere with the palazzo’s authenticity and character. The bed duvet was in a sheet, rather than in a cover set, and it made it difficult to keep in the sheet, was not great. The restaurant was a bit pricey but the staff were nice.

We loved the hotel from the first sight. Perfectly located on a hill above the city with magnificent views of the lake and the Alps, it has this vintage feel to it you can only come across in those old Belle Époque hotels. The interiors are beautiful, as well as the rooms. The restaurant is outstanding and breakfasts couldn’t be better. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We liked it there so much that we stayed two nights longer than we expected and we already plan to come and stay again.

Historic building with beautifully landscaped gardens and pool. Gorgeous views of the Alps and lake. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff with excellent customer service. A little oasis of peace close to the city.

Decor is a little dated but is also part of its charm. Given a scarcity of transportation (taxis and bus) after 10pm it’s a little far out. We didn’t mind the walk but hadn’t realised there was a 1km hike up the hill to the hotel from the main road.

Exceptional staff. Attentive, kind, bright, eagerly professional. You can feel the history of the hotel, it's like stepping into the early 20th century, with subtle modern amenities that don't detract from the richness of the experience.

Everything was excellent. One note - the restaurant is very, very nice. Waiters in formalwear, etc. So nice that, on vacation with only very casual lounging-around and hiking clothes with us - we felt too under dressed to enjoy, we ended up going into town for more casual fare. If you want to do dinner at the restaurant, you might be sure to bring something nice to wear!

Cosy, historical hotel situated on the hill, with beautiful panorama view over the lake, town and mountains, surroudned by park. Interior is gorgeous, equipped with original furnitures, paintings that brought us to early 20s last century. Only 30 minutes drive from Malpensa Airport, 1h to the centre of Milan, 1h to Como and 1,5h to Bellagio. Very good starting point to the best italian attractions known all over the world. Breakfast served in the restaurant with the view over the lake, rich variety of food, delicious cakes and bread. No hurry, cosy, relaxing place for enjoying the breakfast.

The hotel is really cosy, comfortable and located in a beautiful spot. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast in a restaurant with a great view, comfortable beds. We traveled there in our car, if you travel on foot or with public transport, it is a little far away and uphill. We really enjoyed our stay, and actually plaanning to go back there soon. Great value for the price.

Nothing big to mention here. Just one day there was an issue with internet, they fixed it as soos an they could.

A beautiful, historical 1920's hotel set in gorgeous grounds with mature trees. Large room with comfy beds. I had an amazing massage but unfortunately was too early for the opening of the pool which is in most hotels at the end of May. We loved our stay here and varese is a green city (literally with beautiful trees) with great shopping and cakes!

The sound of the plumbing was annoying but to be expected in an hotel of this age. Breakfast didnt have many options for vegetarians.

What can I say. The hotel is a mix of old world charm and glamour! It had hints of a Wes Anderson film, mixed with the grandness of The Overlook and the pool and bar area made me think of Chateau Marmont and Hollywood. It was idyllic and I could have stayed happily for a long time. Beautiful setting, stunning views and very peaceful. The outdoor bar and cafe are sublime and the pool area the best I've ever experienced. The whole family loved it. Great breakfast too and nice big room. Staff all lovely and helpful, they mix a mean cocktail and serve a delicious lasagne! Varese is a lovely town, great restaurants and shops a short walk from the hotel. Easy direct train to the airport. If this was on Como it would be at least a £1k a night but was extremely good value. We will most certainly be back!

Only thing would be to change how you provide shampoo etc as seems a waste of plastic.
