Very central location- quiet and clean with good breakfast

Website shows a roof terrace with tables suggesting food / drinks were being served. I was informed that there is no public roof Terrace and only a small terrace for a penthouse. This is an advertising misdescription and should be amended asap as this was one of the reasons I chose the hotel.

Location is just perfect - and quiet, though so close to St Mark’s square, staff are lovely, rooms are very modern and comfortable. Breakfast exactly what you’d imagine.

Only one thing - there seems to be a problem with the thermostats in the rooms. They won’t go lower than 18 C, but the actual temp when it’s showing 18 is more like 22. After the first night, when I had to have windows open, which was noisy, staff told me it was possible to turn the thermostat off, which I did. Fine for March. But I’d worry about it being far too hot in the rooms in summer. My mum, in a different room, had exactly the same problem. Shame, because other than that, the hotel is exceptional. Hope it gets fixed.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The property is about 1 minutes from Piazza San Marco, with a canal opposite. We loved seeing the gondoliers when we stepped out of the hotel. It’s so quiet, considering the close proximity to the Piazza. The staff were always on call at breakfast to ensure food didn’t run out. The menu included scrambled eggs and bacon, croissants, pain au chocolate, rolls, bread, meat, yoghurts. fruit salad, vegan croissants etc. It was perfect. The room was tastefully decorated having been recently refurbished. Importantly, it was spotless, and the bed was so comfortable. It had everything, hairdryer, safe, pod coffee machine, plus tea and hot chocolate. You would need shampoo, conditioner and extra shower gel, as you have a small one on arrival. Also, you have free water in the fridge.

We loved the hotel

From the moment we checked in at reception and was greeted by a very friendly member of staff called Amin we were made to feel extremely welcome, he made check in very easy . Amin always greeted us when we left and came back to the hotel, and took the time to ask us if everything was ok and was helpful if we wanted to know anything. The room we stayed in was spacious and had plenty of storage space , it had a very comfortable bed and plenty of pillows,the room was very clean there also was a tv in the room , that allowed us to change some channels audio to English . The breakfast had plenty of choice to suit all tastes and the staff at breakfast were very helpful and friendly.The hotel also has a restaurant inside and is just off St Marks Square. We will stay here again when we go back to Venice in August

The hotel is located very well next to Piazza San Marco and all the most famous places. The room was spotless, very comfortable bed, very nice bathroom. We loved the smell of the shower gel. Towels were so white and fluffy. The staff were all amazing, and anything we needed was so quickly sorted out. Breakfast was wonderful for us.

The only thing to say is that due to the kind of construction in Venice and that we were in the 1st floor, there were not much light in the room but this has not been a problem because we were in the hotel only to sleep. The buildings are very close to each other.

Great hotel in an amazing location (you could be at many of the top sights in Venice in less than a minute if you tried!) with lovely staff. Very clean and great room - our room even had a typically 'Venetian' view of a gondola on a canal. The breakfast was a classic continental breakfast with lots of choice plus the option to have eggs and bacon from the kitchen. We also ate in the hotel restaurant on one night, which has great Venetian food!

No complaints! The only tip I would give is that the aircon can be switched off by a small button on top of the thermostat - it took us a couple of days to realise and we really didn't need aircon at the beginning of January!

Albergo San Marco is located in a very touristy location but that is what we were there for. Once you step out of the hotel, you are right near shops and local restaurants, all walkable. If you love shopping, this is the hotel for you. It about 5 minutes from the dock and about a 10-minute walk to the Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal. Hotel was clean, restroom was spacious, and the a/c was amazing! The breakfast was also delicious and not your typical continental breakfast. Overall, great local hotel for the price and location.

Room could be a little tight, but I moved a small chair and lamp to accommodate our luggage. This is a hotel I would stay at again.

The location is very close to the St. Marks square. Highly recommended. The room is clean, and smell good.

The room suite is very small, the aircondition is not good we experience very hot in the middle of the night, eventhough we adjust the temperature it didn't work, the breakfast is so lame, not so much in the buffet, I just ask there's no scumble egg? or bacon? the waitress said you have to order, and im just thinking ok=) only the location we love is very close to the St. Marks square. If you are not so picky the hotel is the best for you. But for me the location is the best, but if you want an overnight it is ok but it is expensive, but if your want to stay 4-5 days find another hotel.

Where to start! The staff is beyond Incredible, from check in to cleaning to breakfast crew! All were extremely helpful with any needs! The Location is Incredible, a small bridge and a few steps away from Piazza San Marco, the main square! Maybe a five minute walk to Rialto Bridge, almost a straight line! Small grocery store steps away, another larger grocery near Rialto Bridge! Food, Food, and more Food options very near by! Shopping available all around! The room was Beautiful! Recently renovated with very comfortable bed, wardrobe, coffee maker, blow dryer and AC! Bathroom was stunning with all modern amenities! And then there’s breakfast! From the fresh made bacon and scrambled eggs, ask any one of the breakfast staff for an order, to the almost endless options of buffet items, Great way to start the morning in Venice! If I missed anything, Albergo San Marco did not!

I’ve got nothing!

Good location with regard to being near the San Marcos plaza, restaurants and shopping. Relatively short walk to waterfront (without luggage). Clean and comfortable / Good beds. Everything worked well in the room and staff was very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with hot items included in our price.

Pretty good distance from the port where transportation (all on the water) was located and we had to get a porter to move baggage (ABOUT 30 EUROS). Staff claimed to be unaware of the "Shared water taxi" option of getting to othe airport.
