It's not often you get to stay in a room that's over 1000 years old. I also really liked that it was located in the quiet area of town but an easy (and visually lovely) walk to the main hub (around the grand canal). Nicoli is also a very charming, helpful host. The adjoining living area is very elegant and just a nice, comfy place to retreat if you are tired of your room and want somewhere quiet to work or read. My room wasn't huge but I don't like large rooms anyway so that suited me just fine and the bathroom was an ensuite so very convenient. The bed was very comfy. I've found in all the hotels I stayed in in Italy that the mattresses aren't as soft as in Australia or the US but again, I prefer a firmer one so that suited me too.

I would have liked replenishment of the tea and coffee sachets. There was only a couple of each to start with and it's a drag to go and buy more for only 2 days as then I'd have to carry them around in my backpack and they're bulky. Also the kettle kept switching itself off and I couldn't plug the hairdryer in the bathroom outlet as it only took shavers and the other outlets had been taped over. A small fridge in the room would have been welcome too. The only one availble was in the hallway outside my room which can be noisy when accessing.

The room is very clean and the host is very friendly and helpful. The toilet is very clean and the host has done so much to help us. Location is very good and convenient. Helper keeps the room neat daily, helps with the rubbish. Nichola was also there daily at certain hours which was really helpful when we had questions.

Just some areas of improvement, not really things that made me dislike the property per se. The toilet has a consistent strong bleach smell or some cleaning liquid smell which maybe I was sensitive to but my husband had no comments. Stairways could do with some lights at night, we had a torch so it was alright.

The location was amazing for getting away from the hustle & feeling Venice like a local. Nicola was so accommodating, friendly, and gave helpful tips. The bed was firm but comfortable, and the room was cleaned almost daily.

There was an issue with the hot water heater, so we dealt with barely luke warm showers... it was manageable. There were some hold out mosquitos that were annoying, but we "handled" them. The rooms are very close together so there is some noise from doors, locks & voices.

Owner was very nice, my husband got sick and he helped me find the pharmacy, offered me food to take to my husband in our room as he was too unwell to come out for breakfast and also waived the city tax for our stay as he felt bad for us that my husband was sick the whole stay. Room was very clean. Nice breakfast in a homely relaxing environment. Good location which was an easy walk from the water bus. Quiet location - peaceful room.

Very dated room. Small room with no space to spread out. No fridge in room - it was a communal one in hallway. Small shower and shower head was leaking. Room was dark and a bit depressing. Tv was tiny.

A B&B needs to get two things right. A good bed and good breakfast. B&b Ca Del Modena nailed both. The room was cozy, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and nutritious. Nothing too fancy, but not "some slop" either. We had bread, filled croissants, a selection of ham and cheese, all sorts of jams, spread cheese, and nutella, omelette, and fruits. Yoghurt was also available. All in all a great way to start the day. The location was also suberb and I understand the price. Living/breakfast room was straight out of a museum and screamed Venice, kicking off each morning in an almost bohemian; artsy way. Staff and the owner were extremely welcoming, warm, and kind. Making us feel very welcome.

If I would really beed to nitpick, the air conditioner would sometimes really need to do some work before the room was cool enough. But it's more of a me problem, as a Scandinavian any heat over 25°C gets me sweating harder than a politician facing corruption charges.

Excellent hospitality, both of the staff we met were extremely helpful and accommodating. The bed was super comfy, and the room was spacious enough and clean. In pictures, it looks more classy and well preserved, but in reality, it looks a bit outdated. Some small changes would make the place look fantastic, mainly a bathroom renovation or at least to replace the bathroom curtain with a glass so it doesn't stick onto you when showering. Overall a great stay, was a really good experience, mainly cause of the amazing staff and the comfy bed.

We enjoyed our stay especially because of the lovely people running the B&B. Another bonus is the great proximity to every important monument in Venice and also that you only have to walk 5 minutes to the waterbus to get to the airport. Breakfast was delicious every day with daily fresh fruits. Perfect for couples.

The B&B is in a old very beautiful building but this means that it is nearly impossible to open and close the front doors completly silently. People who don't sleep very deeply are easly woken up up by these noises in the morning. However, since it isn't too loud, it is easy to fall asleep again.

Very friendly host and staff very efficient nice breakfast tastefully decorated premises. Sou d advice given on good local restaurants.

We much enjoyed our stay in Venice. The B&B is in a narrow street, easy once we'd found it the first time! Not too far from Venezia Santa Lucia train station, but inevitably there are several sets of steps over several canals to get there. Good communication with property staff, met someone on arrival as planned. Lovely breakfast in dining room every morning, owner also usually there over breakfast time if there were any queries. Overnight, it's just visitors in the property, but phone nos available if needed. Fortunately, we were able to arrange an extra night's accommodation when there was a train strike!

The room was just right for a 2 night stay. Ideal location to walk to all tourist attractions. The hosts went above and beyond as our check-in was late and they waited till we arrived. They were also helpful when we told them where we were going while staying

Found it hard to find on arrival, was dropped off by a water taxi and with it being dark a waiter from a near by restaurant took us to the accommodation
