We absolutely LOVE staying at Shinjuku Sunroute Plaza Hotel—this is our third visit, and it never disappoints! • Location: It’s in the perfect spot, just a short walk from Shinjuku Station, making it super convenient for getting around Tokyo. Despite being close to all the action, it's tucked away enough to be quiet and relaxing. • Room: We always book the triple room, and it's fantastic! It’s comfortable, well-appointed, and just the right size for our stay. The beds are cozy, and the room is always clean and well-maintained. • Bus Access: The Narita Airport Limousine Bus stop is right outside, which makes airport transfers stress-free. No dragging suitcases through the train station—just hop on the bus and go! Overall, the combination of location, convenience, and comfort keeps us coming back. It’s the perfect base for exploring Tokyo!

Location was fantastic, with a train station exit right next to the hotel. Walk to Shinjuku station was easy and there was a convenient store right across the hotel. We stayed at Sunroute twice during our time in Japan with a side trip in between. The concierge was able to store our luggage for 2N which was helpful and convenient. The self check in was a bit fiddly but the staff behind the counter pre-empted the issue and proactively resolved it. Space under the bed for storage was good.

Bathroom is a little dated but for the price and convenience, it was within my expectation.

Hotel Sunroute offers an excellent stay particularly for its prime location near the train station, cafes and a convenient Family Mart. The hotel provides thoughtful amenities like free toiletries which guests can take as much as they need and a laundry facility with room-tracked status updates. A major highlight is the airport bus service that drops you directly at the hotel eliminating the need for walking or expensive Uber rides in Tokyo. Additionally, the courteous and friendly staff with the front desk fluent in English ensures a smooth and welcoming experience for international travelers.

While Hotel Sunroute offers many conveniences, there are a few drawbacks. The standard rooms are quite small which may feel cramped for some guests. Additionally, the mattress and pillows are rather firm making them less comfortable for a good night’s sleep. It’s also worth noting that there is no iron or ironing facility available which can be inconvenient for travelers needing to freshen up their clothes.

Second stay here, rooms have been upgraded since Covid, excellent location close to shops and trains. We used Yoyogi station for travel as is close and much quieter than Shinjuku station. 5 minute walk to the excellent Shinjuku shopping and restaurants nearby. Very good buffet breakfast was included. Washing machines available but slow to dry the clothes . Would recommend using the airport bus as it arrives and departs from outside the lobby , much better than dragging your ski bags and suitcases through the train stations. You dont even have to load/unload your luggage on the bus . Hotel booked for us on departure. Friendly efficient staff, would stay again. PS...great Taiyaki on Musashino st, just around/on the corner from Shinjuku Rambling Rd, close to the sushi train restaurant also on Musashino...both worth a visit !

location to train station, shops, food was wonderful. Room was good too but it was small which we knew however I didn't count on how much more room we would need for both of us. but loved the hotel.

for staff to understand coming from overseas not familiar with their language or checkin etc.. as when we arrived around 10.30pm we had problems checking in on self serve and the guy who came over to us made us feel more stressed but eventually we figured it out we had one exceptional staff young girl who went out of her way to help us and I will be giving her a compliment directly to the hotel.

Fantastic location and so handy to be able to catch the Haneda airport limousine bus which dropped us right at the door of the hotel. Room size (we booked twin beds) was fine for the 2 of us with our 2 suitcases. The staff were super helpful and the wide range of complimentary amenities available in the lobby 24/7 were very welcome. Nice and quiet for a good night's sleep.

We only had 1 pillow on each bed and they were very small and hard, the beds were also quite firm. There was a lamp and chair in the room which took up valuable space and was not really necessary.

My wife and I think highly of the Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku. It has an excellent location on a quiet street virtually on top of Shinjuku Station, so transportation is no problem. The staff are wonderful, and our room was clean and well kept. We stayed in a standard double throughout our five-day stay in Tokyo but booked the first night through bookin.com and the last four through Agoda. This proved necessary because booking.com only offered economy doubles, and Agoda’s website would not allow us to alter our reservation to encompass the full five nights. I hope that both sites do something to fix these frustrations. The hotel was accommodating enough to alter the first night reservation, so that we were not forced to move rooms. For the record, I have generally found Agoda to be a difficult site to use when compared to booking.com. I was initially attracted to the hotel because there is a bus from Haneda Airport that drops passengers at the hotel. I didn’t end up using it because I arrived too late and after the last bus of the night. If I were return to Tokyo, I would happily return to the Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku.

I really like the airport coach to stop right in front of the hotel. I also grateful for the super efficient luggage transport service provided. The hotel location was excellent, it's near train station, shopping mall and easy to get food too. Hotel staff are very patient in explaining things I don't understand. Thank u very much for the great stay!

The room is a bit small and does not have nice window view.

Convenient location. Variety breakfast. Comfortable room. Cleanliness.

Unfriendly and not helpful male front desk staff. First time stay and not knowing of self check in process. Front desk just said what would we like to do (with our luggages). No name shown on booking paper and he kept asking a name, while we picked up passport and then asked which passport was a main booker and just pointed out to self check in auto machine. Our clumsy but at least a female staff came to show us in a few second. Bad manner to hotel guest.

Perfect location - For anyone traveling to Tokyo and staying in Shinjuku I highly recommend!! Have stayed in a few different places and this one was the best of all. Modern & clean lobby, the rooms were a reasonable size compared to other hotels in Tokyo, close to restaurants and cafes, very short walk to Shinjuku station. I will 100% stay again next time and will recommend to any friends and family travelling to Tokyo.
