We stayed here 4 nights in June 2024 in a Classic room with furnished balcony. The room is not large but functional with 2 chairs and a small desk with chair. The room has a minibar, a Nespresso machine, a watercooker and iron and ironing board. WiFi and shower are both excellent, although it is not easy to shower without getting water on the bathroom floor. Lighting and the bed are very good. Probably the best WiFi ever in a hotel. Most staff members are friendly (one concierge is an exception) and helpful and they all speak good English. Breakfastbuffet is very good. There are several restaurants within walking distance and also a small supermarket is close to the hotel.

One concierge doesn’t like his job or doesn’t like guests or didn’t like us. Unlike all other staff was rather unfriendly. For a 5* hotel they have several “opportunities for improvement”: used Nespresso capsules are not replenished nor is the laundry bag and form replenished, even after our request. Chromecast on the tv is not working when we arrived and the entrance card of one of us didn’t work. When we brought these points to the attention of the general manager they took immediate, professional corrective actions.

We had the surprise of a lifetime when we were upgraded from a standard room to the presidential suite. It was an absolutely incredible experience—the most spacious and luxurious room we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you once again for making our stay so special!

TV device and channel selection were both subpar. The remote control was bridled (no subtitle activation, no sound channel selection, no EPG, etc.) Volume level was set to a minimum of 10 (!) I had to call a hotel IT person to make it possible to turn the volume down below 10. The device itself was, apparently, an Android, with few extra possibilities beyond TV watching. Channel switching was slow. Channel list was pretty poor. It's a pity, but, on the other hand, TV watching wasn't the main activity during this trip :-)

The breakfast was very good, the waiter was very polite and they treated you like a king. The reservation manager help me with booking, in the way that I solve my request very fast, many thanks to him!!

The hotel offer a parking cars at 3 times payment then the parking in Bucharest , without a valet parking. I have a hibrid car wick according with law the parking in Bucharest is free, and they don’t care about!!! They need to accept the payment at the reception, not to send you in cold outside like a regular parking. I don’t know how they got 5 star hotel according with the law in Romania…

Friendly and helpful staff

I did not get the room I actually booked (Junior King Suite w Balcony). I wasted more than 1 hour sorting this out, only to get a room that was somewhat similar to what I booked. The room I got was composed of two small rooms, little space - not really worth the money. Also, only when I arrived was I informed that construction works are being carried out on the ground floor of the hotel, which made the whole stay quite poor. When checking out, the reception system was also not working (probably due to the wider global outage).

Excelent renovation, great taste in every detail, superbe rooms without over-charging on decoration . Simply perfect. Great staff ( minus the spa lady who was unfriendly) , great atmosphere, finally a hotel that we can call “home” when we visit Bucarest

The spa lady was not trying to solve my request. In client service business, before you say “ no”, you should go above and beyond to find a solution. When I explained that, she rolled her eyes. The solution was simple…

The room was very nice. Large TV screen. Beds very comfortable and an excellent location. One of the best hotels I have stayed so far

The staff were very friendly and professional at all times. The room was very large and spacious and beds comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with exceptional toiletries! The breakfast was fantastic and the offering amazing! Enjoyed a few meals at the English Bar which were good. the service from the bar lady working there was excellent! Location is very good.

The hotel was undergoing renovations, thus alot of noise during the day. The 800 Lei security deposit to pay at checkin is way too high!

Once in a rare while a hotel stands above the rest in quality and service, and IC Athenee managed to do just this. We arrived around midnight absolutely beat after 5 weeks of trips and a 12 hour travel day, and Andra immediately read the room: expedient and the consummate professional, she got us promptly to our connected rooms (thank you so much for fulfilling this request!) with exemplary hospitality! Christian (who had secured parking for us upon arrival) had our luggages in a blink and we immediately felt like home away from home. From the cleaning staff and the laundry service, to the in-room dining team and the checkout lady (my apologies for not looking at the name) everyone exceeded expectations with their efficiency and kindness, and made our stay an absolute delight. In a big world, this is one place we would return to in a blink!

The beds are very comfortable, very quiet and good air conditoning system, lovely refurbished bathrooms, great washing products. A hotel up to par with many European top hotels! Professional and kind staff.

We were first given a different room and the toilet was not washed properly, with signs of remaining poo and urine. The reception staff swiftly changed the room and we had no issues thereon. The noise from the on-going works were unpleasant but this is over soon. The room doors are not super well isolated so we heard noises from clients on hallway.
