We had very clean and spacious rooms with a beautiful ocean view. We chose to have dinner and breakfast included and it did not disappoint! Both meals were delicious, beautifully presented and very filling. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the train station and there is a small shopping mall with a Muji store less than a 5 minute walk away.

The indoor onsen area was a little disappointing as it was small. It had a view of the ocean through a large window. Luckily we were the only ones using it whenever we were there. The outdoor onsen is by reservation only and was practically booked by the time we checked into the hotel. Some members of our party used it and enjoyed the view.

very good location, near the city center, clean and big room. The bath on the top floor has a nice view on the sea.

I was very, very disappointed that there was no open bath/rotenburo on the top floor available to all, but only by reservation and additional fees. The hotel is at the sea side, so really cannot understand such policy.

The hotel provide private onsen for 1000 yen for 45 min. The food is good, typical ryokan food with beef, tofu and fried chicken, signature of Beppu. The in-room onsen is great with sea view. A little small but enough for 2 people. Our parent has room with foot bath which is nice for relaxing for long day of walk. The hotel is closed to the sea. The view from our room is nice.

The hotel does not setup the bed for us for privacy but I prefer that they do it during our dinner.

The room set-up and the overall stay were wonderful. We highly enjoyed the spaciousness of the room and the bath in the room, with a view to the sea. The bathwater was extremely hot for us, but cold water could be added in with a tap on the side, to adjust the overall temperature. We also appreciated the availability of a cold water machine in the room. The dinner and breakfast service was provided in small rooms on one of the floors, giving us privacy while eating. We highly enjoyed everything. The hotel was also within walkable distance from the JR station where we took the train upon leaving (around 12mins walk) so it was very convenient for us.

We didn't have anything we disliked in particular.

The room was spacious and a great mix of western and japanese style. Our private onsen had a direct view of the waterfront which was beautiful. The staff were all helpful and kind, and the breakfast/diners were delicious (and very generous).

Neither I, nor my friend, have anything bad to say about our stay!

The hotel is directly on Beppu bay, we had a great sea view from our room and could see the sunrise. The structure is a bit dated but has various advantages including the size of the room and the bathroom (we chose the Japanese room), the comfort of the tatami, the cleanliness, the quality of the bath and onsen products, the 'private onsen for couples or families, parking. The typical Japanese breakfast is excellent and very accurate. The staff does not speak English but is very helpful and kind.

The room does not have blackout curtains and therefore the light enters from 5.30, I would suggest the hotel to provide

Enjoyed the indoor public hot bath very much. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Staff was helpful to call taxi for us to Jigoku Meguri. Easy to get from Beppu Station to hotel and vice versa. Catching the beautiful sunrise from balcony of room overlooking the sea.

Booking of the private bath can only be done in morning for same night, ie cannot book the night before. A bit inconvenient.

The rooms were very spacious and the ryokan mattresses were quite comfortable. The view across the bay was very good. The traditional breakfast was enjoyable with a great variety of small dishes. Although a fair walk from the station, it was actually well situated for restaurants and bus stops.

It's a bit tired and somewhat overpriced.

Loved the sea view and in room private sento/bath. Room was spacious, breakfast was amazing, staff were great.

Location was challenging but good overall, Beppu is larger than we anticipated and buses were very crowded/not readily available even in off season. Make sure you choose a location closer to what you'll be doing. When it was time to leave the hotel tried to call us a cab but they were too busy lol

One of our favourite hotels we've ever stayed at. Next time, we will definitely stay longer. The staff were welcoming, patient and assisted us with booking the private onsen on-site. Facilities were fantastic! Highly recommend the room with the foot bath as the view was perfect. ♡
