The location was excellent, just a short distance from the hotel was an entrance to the “Gion” metro (orange line); the same line as for Fukuoka Airport, which made getting to the airport so convenient. Also the next stop on this line is the Hakata Main Station. In the Hotel foyer, there was a tourist brochure, the “Fukuoka Old Town”, which had a map of the historic buildings close by, including the beautiful Tochoji Temple. The room was clean, comfortable; the air conditioner worked well and which you could manually adjust. The reception staff were very helpful and courteous.

Good location, apart from the Gion Train Station just in front of the hotel, it takes only 8 mins walk to Hakata Station. There is a lift in the Exit 6 of Gion Train Station. There is a Lawson next to the hotel and you can buy some food anytime you want. Staff is helpful. The room is tidy and clean.

Room is small...as typical in Japan, but you can put your luggage underneath the bed (the bed is designed for store the luggage ). In addition, the bed is a bit too soft. There may be a Hospital\Fire Station or Emergency Depot nearby, we heard siren\alarm several times every night during our stay.

This is in front of a subway station but a 7-minutes walk from Hakata Station. The hotel is located in the main road so expect car horns in the evening. Make sure to close your windows and curtains to filter the noise. Rooms are clean. Spacious rooms are if you're getting twin bed and in the corner. They give free toiletries everyday.

The automatic machine for check-in. It takes up your time more than doing it manually. If the line is long, staff should be able to accommodate guests doing manual check-in instead. A drunk guest from the same floor knocked my door as early as 5:00 AM :( It was a scary experience because he was banging my door. My friend and I called the reception to report but no one went upstairs to check just because the drunk man went down again maybe to check his room #.

I stayed at APA Hotel Hakata Gion Ekimae for three nights, and it was a great experience. The location is excellent—very central and just a short walk to the metro, making it easy to get around. There’s also a fantastic bakery right next door, which I enjoyed visiting every morning. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. Although I didn’t try the breakfast, since I preferred eating out, the hotel provided everything I needed.

There was nothing I didn’t like about my stay. Its nothing fancy but good value for money - rooms are of course a bit small, but bed is comfortable and room as everything you need.

Very clean and very convenient for subway, cafes and reasonably-priced restaurants. Self check-in a tad cumbersome but staff were on hand willing to help complete the process. The hotel is close to many of the temples and shrines in Old Hakata. It is walking distance to Hakata mainline train station and you pass many good cafes along the way. It is also walkable to Canal City for shopping and dining options. The single room booked actually has a double bed which is a bonus. Although room size is rather small, it is as expected of many Fukuoka hotels. It is well designed so that you do not feel cramped after as provision is made for luggage storage under the bed. Rooms are cleaned every 3 days but a new set of linens are provided each day. Will recommend this hotel.

It would be ideal to have at least one front desk staff who is fluent in English. However, they so make good use of online translation app.

Hotel lobby is very nice. I like the elegant chandelier. The location is very good. It is near a subway station and a bus stop. Check in and check out process is convenient. Room is clean with useful amenities. Helpful and courteous

Communication is a challenge. English is hardly spoken or understood by reception staff. They are nice but it is frustrating to convey some messages regarding some concerns and requests. Needed to use google translate for the arrangement to leave our large pieces of luggage for one day in there, Apa Hotel Hakata Gion since we are proceeding to Hiroshima for an overnight stay in Apa Hotel Hiroshima (bringing only small pieces of luggage) and come back at same hotel to stay two more nights. Ended up "paying" for another "one night stay" just to leave our three large pieces of luggage !! Hoped there was a better arrangement for us, Apa Hotel clients.

The hotel is pretty new and has a very good location, just next to a subway exit. The hotel is also close to the central station and the airport. They have self check in, and the staff will help if you encounter any problems. The room was very clean and functional, with a small fridge and a kettle, but there's no microwave though. There's a big TV in the room. The breakfast was decent and good value.

The standard room is very small, 9-10 square meters. It is even smaller than an inside cabin on a cruise ship. There's no wardrobe, no luggage rack. There's almost nowhere to put your luggage. There are some hooks on the wall though where you can hang your clothes and backpacks. I would give it 10 if the room was a bit bigger.

Great location right next to Gion station. Rooms are quite small but very well organized. Found a place to put everything. The rooms are set around an open atrium, so lots of fresh air.

Mattress was sunken in from past guests, so bit rough on my back. There are only 2 elevators for the entire hotel, so there was often a line to go up to our room and stopped on several floors when leaving. Budget time for the elevators in your travel plans.

The location was great- right outside exit 5 of gion station. Take exit 6 if you need the elevator else it’s stairs for you for exit 5. Amenities are hung outside your door (on 3rd day of the stay they will come in to cleanup). Soundproofing was good and there are blackout curtains. The checkin process using the machine was smooth and checkout by dropping keycard in machine box was cool too!
