I liked the staffs except the breakfast receptionist Mr. Suzuki, room size, clean, breakfasts, and the hot spring on site.
I didn't like the breakfast receptionist Mr. Suzuki who was rude, unprofessional, and a very mean dude. Japanese shall be very polite, professional, and respect their job but that's Not apply to Suzuki!

Old hotel with renovated common parts. Enormous size rooms for Japan! Nice and clean Onsen with a peaceful outdoor area. Walking distance to a few local restaurants.
The bathrooms are still original, charming but very tired. In the morning you can hear the music that plays in the corridors very clearly, they start playing it around 6-6:30, for a resort it would be better to keep it quiet till at least 8 AM.

Staff was super helpful and spoke some English so it was easy to bridge the gap, the breakfast was fantastic and the dinner was pretty good although there are some great dinner places surrounding the hotel if you look for them. My partner says the spa was excellent and was very relaxing.
Spa use is not allowed for those with tattoos(which is something I did not deduct any points for in my rating as it was mentioned in the booking) I wish they would allow tattoos as long as they were covered with a patch or something, but otherwise it was a fantastic stay

Excellent hotel, stayed in the family room - lobby was absolutely amazing and the staff were so friendly. Onsen was beautiful, well kept and maintained. Really enjoyed my stay here. It's a shame we didn't get to stay long enough to enjoy the onsen more. There's a family mart literally outside the hotel so you can always grab supplies there and get it to your room. Roomy was excellent (family room) can't speak about the other rooms. I loved it so much I wish i could have stayed longer with a lot more of family. There was a lot of guests who kept the environment very enjoyable. Very children friendly !!
I do wish the room had a microwave though; some of the light switches were not working as expected but didn't deferr from the overall experience.

We enjoyed the big, onsen baths. staff are friendly and take time to explain our questions. Breakfast is amazing. I never had a Japanese buffet breakfast this great. we stayed only 1 night and expected Onsen and breakfast, so we are satisfied guests!
we arrived at Hakone yumoto station at 3 pm and took a Tozan train to Gora Station, which is the nearest station from the hotel ( according tourist information staff ) But there are no buses and tax at Gora Station to hotel and I called the hotel for asking how to get there. staff said just wait or call taxi company, so we did, and we were waiting for taxi about 1 hour. It was difficult and tough to get to the hotel without a car. ( even I'm Japanese, and could call 3 taxi companies). also, only 1 local restaurant nearby was open on Wednesday at 7 pm.

Room was clean, tatami room spacious enough for 5 people. Felt safe - also had a safe in room for valuables Bath house - very clean, good facilities Breakfast was great value - 1000 yen for high quality buffet with an omelette and sushi chef. Exceptional service from staff - I was impressed by how good their English was - made communicating so much easier than other Japanese hotels! No complaints regarding staff, room or facilities - all perfect. Would definitely stay here again, it’s a shame I was only there for one night.
Only complaint was accessing the separate buildings - would be so much easier if you didn’t have to go through the basement and there was a path between them on the first floor. No complaints apart from that!

The food was amazing, both breakfast and dinner. The lobby and restaurant has been renovated, so it’s nice and new. The bus stop was close to the hotel too, so it was pretty easy to find. It snowed the two days I stayed at the hotel, and the nearby cable cars and lake ferry were all suspended, so it got a little boring after a while, since there was little to do near or in the hotel.
The rooms were older and in need of a renovation and part of the place has a slight sewer smell.

The hotel was full of nice services including games like ping pong and other useful services like a souvenir shop or the bar where you could enjoy a nice sweet and beverage. The hotel is most reccomended for families and short stays. The breakfast was really nice including a very nice variety of both salty and sweet products
The hotel is a bit old/ old style

The room was a decent size for Japan. Beds were ok, not the best but not the worst. The buffet dinner was a good selection. The onsen was Devine. A choice of 6 different thermal springs for females & temperature wasn't too hot.
The buffet breakfast was limited for western taste buds, but good if you like a variety of Japanese food.

Nice and quiet location near nature. Family mart within a stone’s throw away. We are a family of 5. Booked a family room and its size is big by Japan standard. As with most hotels in the Hakone region, it’s more convenient if you drive, especially for a family with young kids. Meals were fantastic with a fairly sizeable spread of Japanese cuisine, with some Chinese and American food. Kids love it.
None.
