The location is great if you're looking to get to Kyoto Station and move around from there. Very handy for day-trips eg to Nara, and there's a lot of restaurants around the station itself. To get to Gion etc you might need a bus or taxi, but there's a lot more restaurants/shops etc in walkable distance from this hotel than say the Nijo castle Mimaru. It is very easy to get to Inari-Fushimi via JR train from this hotel, and there's a 7-11 on the corner. Room setup is great for families.

Even though we were high up without open windows, mosquitos kept showing up in the room - probably combo of warm weather and rain, but maybe check there's no standing water somewhere (I'm sure it's a temporary thing)? Otherwise the room was lovely, staff was helpful and would highly recommend and stay again. Air conditioning worked well

Located just across the street from Kyoto station by the east exit so very convenient if your itinerary involves getting in & out of Kyoto station. The apartment is well equipped and very comfortable. There are plenty of eateries around the hotel and you can always find any restaurants in Porta dining Kyoto station if you want to have something quick and decent. Several shopping malls nearby as well. Staff is very helpful & quick to respond. Hotel can hold luggages for you as well.

The washer & dryer, each 3 units are available by the lobby for paid, communal use. Hotel needs to put more clear rule in the laundry room to ensure all guests are able to take turns using idle machines and not encourage guests to stand in & monopolize machines.

MImaru Kyoto Station is the best hotel we've stay on this trip. Location is accessible to both train and bus station. There is also a grocery under Kyoto Station which have a large food section where you can find affordable yummy meals that you can just reheat in the hotel. Rooms are great just perfect for us a Family of 4 (kids ages 7 & 9). We find our room design considered "ergo' as we were able to move with ease. Staff are the most friendly people we've encountered in Japan. Super helpful and they even made a card for our kids which adds a personal touch to their service. Board games that they provide made it possible for us to have a family bonding time during a rainy day and we are just stuck in the hotel. The kids enjoyed it so much.

We feel that adding more lights in the room will be more better.

First of all, I liked that it was really near the Kyoto station, just a short 5 mins walk away from the busy train station. It is also near many malls, there is Aeon mall, Avanti mall, don don donki. The room itself has 4 beds and they are very comfortable. Really nice for a family to live in with the sofa space and table for gathering for meals. You could also borrow the toaster in case you need to toast food from convenience store. Staff is friendly if you need to ask anything. Overall very good stay!

No floor heating, pretty cold if you don't wear socks or thick bedroom slippers.

Front staff are very polite and helpful, and fluent in English. As I just know limited Nihongo, so the use of English can help foreign guests a lot to enjoy their stay at Mimaru. The Pokemon theme room is really attractive to me as a Pokemon fans, in which fully decorated with lovely Pokemon. I love the Pokemon souvenirs prepared for me so much, which is not for sale and well designed. All the utensils for living are quite enough and you do not need to worry about it if you stay for a long period of time or you can bring nothing to stay in the hotel in case you do not have many special requests.

I cannot stay longer; No USB-C port (USB-A port only) but it is not a big problem as I have adaptor myself; The Pokemon room can be pushed to a fever if the kitchen, bathroom and washroom are also decorated with more Pokemon.

Yuko san and Zun san were extremely friendly and hospitable receiving us at check in, especially helping around luggage forwarding, taxi rides. Yuko san especially went above and beyond to help advise on the nearest Yamato Transport office for me to pick up my luggage near my airbnb. At check out we left behind some important doc and Yuko san contacted me about it. Zun san went above and beyond to deliver it to our airbnb in Osaka after his work! This is really unexpected and I am so thankful for the amazing Mimaru Kyoto Station team. The apartment hotel itself had everything we needed, very practically designed and functional. If something can be done for the bunk bed (my daughters were saying she cannot feel the ac from the bunk beds - we stayed at 1102 so probably due to the configuration of the ac versus the bunk bed), it will be even better! Thank you for the amazing stay nevertheless! I do think it was value for money given the close proximity to Kyoto station!

The room and bathroom are clean and beds are comfortable. Spacious enough to have luggages open around. Location is superb. Close to Kyoto station, Nidec tower, temples and a few shopping centres. They offer a range of amenities, just ask. Staff are friendly and kind. Always greets guests with a smile in and out of the hotel.

There is a coin laundry with 3 washing machines and dryers that can be quite busy with 10 floors of guests to share it with on busy days.

We are a family with a 6yo, 4yo and a 4mo baby. The hotel provided a free crib, a real one not a camping crib we usually get at hotels. The small apartment/room was very comfortable for a family. I had a microwave that fits Avent bottle sterilizator, a fridge, a freezer, a fully stocked kitchen. While we chose not to cook and mostly brought in goods from the convini (Lawson is better than 7/11 in my opinion, both are bear by) or take aqay from the station's McDonalds, Avanti's food court (right across the street) or Coco Curry. A large dining table, a spacious shower and bath and a laundry room (operated by coins) made traveling with kids a pleasant experience. We chose Kyoto station branch as we used it as base for Osaka and Nagoya too, and it made traveling around easier. For us it was a perfect location. The hotel also has a game lending library and we enjoyed several evenings playing with our kids.

Honestly, we had a good stay. The way the room was shaped was not optimal for a baby bed, but we managed.

We really enjoyed the spaciousness of the room that we selected. It was the largest of the 3 hotels we stayed at. We also appreciated the exceptional and excellent support of the staff from Assistant Manager Ahn, to night clerk Zun. The location is right across from Kyoto station and there is a 7-Eleven just around the corner if one needed a midnight snack. The room also had a well equipped kitchenette though with soo many wonderful restaurants just across the street we didn’t need it. Also loved the large dining room.

Our only complaint was that the laundry room and washers and dryers were quite small. So as a midpoint stop of the typical Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo trip often times it’s a wash day, however with 3 small washers and dryers it’s a bit of a tight fit and it takes quite some time to do one’s laundry. Despite this setback, this was the only complaint that we had.

This was our favorite hotel on our trip to Japan. Fantastic location near the main Kyoto train station, just a few minutes walk. Incredibly friendly staff welcomed us and explained all the amenities, including a coin laundry just off the lobby. Our rooms had small kitchenettes and 4 individual beds each (2 bunks, 2 twins) ... the staff had created some shared Google Docs with recommendations for local restaurants, some of which we tried and enjoyed.
