I liked the friendly welcome, the owners are a lovely couple who have actually done a fair bit of travelling themselves, very helpful, spoke good English, very interesting and informative, the lady (looking out of kitchen hatch in photo) that helps is really nice and prepares a excellent breakfast that just sets you up for a good start to your day! For me I liked the location as it wasn't to far to walk to local transport hubs, not a trek, just 10minute walk , I'm sure if you have luggage they would assist you with a lift if you ask, but please don't quote me on this, just message beforehand. I had a double bed, the room was clean and spacious enough for my stay, Wifi, kettle (tea/coffee), air conditioning, plus use of washing machine and luggage storage, this accommodation ticked all the boxes for my visit to Nagasaki, I would definitely book again on my return hopefully in the near future , Thank you for the lovely hospitality 👍😊🤗

Delicious breakfast every morning made with what felt like real care and craft, best breakfast we've had in Japan! And they very easily accommodated us as vegetarians which we've found to be not that common in Japan. The hosts were very kind and helpful. A great location right in central Nagasaki, would definitely stay again for the breakfast alone!

We booked what was listed as an 'economy double room' but was actually a 'semi double' which is only slightly larger than a single and not at all suitable for more than one person. It seems it is bookings mistaken translation, and luckily the host allowed us to move to a proper double with only a small extra charge. However if it was not available we would have had to go somewhere else so this should definitely be changed on the listing.

The breakfast was absolutely spectacular, far exceeding my expectations. My room was very cozy, and very clean, with all the necessary amenities. Despite the fact that there's a national road nearby, the room was quiet and I had no problems sleeping.

The outlet for the exhaust fan in the washroom was located in my room which was weird and sometimes generated unexpected noise. The room was also a bit cramped - it seems it is advertised on Booking as a two-person room, but I would not recommend it. For a single person it was fine.

I loved everything!!! Amazing hosts, amazing breakfasts, the room is big by the Japanese standards and the matterace was soft like a cloud. 1 minute walk to the bus stop and 5mins to a tram stop, walking distance to the train station and various shopping malls. Lots of great restaurants around. I will 100% stay there every time I'm in Nagasaki.

The washing machine is in the "half" of corridor belonging to the family room and some guests would lock their half, but if this happens, the host is happy to unlock it upon request. It is also a bit noisy until 11pm as the B&B is located by a big road but it did not bother me and ear plugs were provided. I don't give many 10/10 ratings but this place is a gem :)

This was the reason l'm filling out the survey, which l almost never do. Quite simply in all my travels, the breakfasts here were among the best l have ever had. The Lady who does the preparation is a professional cook. For that reason alone l reccomend a stay. It's a simple B&B, and if you insist on luxury then look elsewhere. But If you want a taste of real Japanese cuisine then look no further.

We really enjoyed our stay at GardenRoom BNB Yumyum. Previously in Japan we had only stayed in generic hotels so it was nice to stay somewhere with more character. The owners are very friendly and kind. They speak a little English so with the help of Google translate you can get by. We were happy with the location, it was walkable to most places, there was a 7-11 a few minutes away and it was close to a tram stop. We liked the room, the bed was comfortable, there was aircon, a fridge and kettle etc (we stayed in one of the western style rooms). We usually avoid shared bathrooms but they were clean and we had no issues even on a night where the BNB was busy. The breakfast was a real highlight. It is Japanese style and was completely different every day, so it allowed us to try a lot of different things as there would always be 3 or 4 ramekins of small items, a soup, a salad, and a main dish. It was also very substantial as there was always bread and rice freely available to go with it, You could help yourself to coffee and water, and tea is available if you prefer. We would be very happy if everywhere we stayed in Japan was like this.

The owners (Ko San), his wife and daughter take care of the guests themself with very warm hospitality. He even tried to pay us the taxi fare since he messaged us that he would pick us up from the train station but he couldn’t. It’s not his duty to do that. The location is very near to the beautiful canal and downtown. The room with futon is a bit small like normal Japanese house but everything is neat, very clean and functioned. Ko San’s wife homemade breakfast is excellent, they even baked the bread for us every morning. They speak English fluently. They made our days in Nagasaki more meaningful. Thank you Ko San and family.

We got picked up by the landlord who gave us a small tour via car and explained the most relevant sightseeing to us. The bad in the room was cozy, the shared restrooms good and the building nice. Our highlight was the great breakfast every morning that was cooked freshly (if you are vegetarian or some allergies, they will adjust the menu). Is is a very family like setting where the landlord bakes fresh bread and provides you free coffee and tee). He will try his very best to give advice what to visit in Nagasaki. We were not aware beforehand that a Hashima Island Tour would be so interesting. I would recommend to book it via the Gunkanjima Digital Museum. The museum was a hidden treasure as they not only give a good inside of the history of the island but also provide a VR Tour of the closed parts of the Island.

Grandpa Tanaka is gorgeous. This is like your grandparents house, a place to smooth your mind and remove the stress in work. Go home early, wake up late and wait for 8 am breakfast. This is for wounded souls to recover with Nagasaki. Grandkids are also welcomed. But If you are backpackers who wants to squeeze every minute by going home late, have midnights party ,and leave earlier, there could be other options.

One of the best places we've stayed in! Tanaka san and his wife were extremely kind and welcoming. He picked us up from the station and gave us a great tour of Nagasaki. Breakfast every morning varied but was absolutely incredible every time. They even accommodate for any allergies/dietary restrictions you may have and bake their own bread! The room and facilities were clean and comfortable, and they had an extremely sweet and well trained dog that sits near the entrance. Can not recommend this place more!

Wish we could have stayed longer!
