Minions!!! If you love minions, this is the hotel for you. My family loves minions, so I had to book a room for our visit to Universal Studios Japan so that we could see more minions. Minions in the lobby. Minions in the elevator. Minions on a bench. Minions everywhere! Check in was a breeze. Setsuko Washio was truly an amazing guide for the hotel. She greeted us, helped with the check in process, gave us minion stickers and wrote us the sweetest note. Dropped off our bags and then headed to Universal Studios Japan for the day. When we got back, we were so surprised that not only were our bags in the room, but Setsuko Washio had handwritten a second note and left minion gifts for our family. This really made a happy day even happier. Thank you!! Location, location, location. Our room was walking distance to Universal Studios. So easy to get there and back and we could see the park from our comfy room. Loved the soaking tub after a long day at the theme park. The aquariums throughout are such a nice touch. Make sure to pick up a toothbrush, hairbrush or hand towel from the large bin in the lobby. Rico Rico for breakfast was great. Loved the traditional Japanese breakfast cuisine. It was a fish lover's dream. Tuna. Salmon. Salted cod roe. Mackerel. Sesame and seaweed. Sushi and sashimi. The veggie curry, salt fried chicken, savory Japanese pancakes, and noodles for breakfast were delicious options. The fresh squeezed orange juice and matcha tea were great ways to start the day. A special thanks to Setsuko Washio and her team of special minions for making our stay a very, very Happy Day!!

That we had to leave!

The location is simply perfect! Universal Studios is just a 5-10 minute walk. And so are the restaurants which are right across Universal Studios. There's also a grocers where you can buy anything Japanese food that you fancy like a 7-11 store. We booked our Special Access for Mario Bros. & the Attraction from the hotel and we are extremely satisfied!!!!! Also booked Harry Potter rides, as well. The room is very spacious, very clean especially the toilet, bathroom. I love the available hangers in the wardrobe closet. AND that Japan is the only country in the world which has potable water from the faucet!!! AND their water tastes soooo good! 😋

Floors be vacuumed a little thoroughly for I still found strands of my hair on the floor carpet. Room Service only starts at 3pm & until 10pm. I would've wanted a piping hot congee in the morning before I take my medicines for I got the infamous Japanese flu while we were in Osaka. 🤒🤮🤢

Rooms were pretty standard hotel rooms, but quite spacious. Beds firm, but comfortable. Pillows were odd. Bathroom was small, Japanese style, with a bath tub. Separate toilet which is always welcome with several people sharing a space. We had 2 rooms booked for our family of 5 and were able to request the adjoining door be opened between the rooms - that was an unexpected bonus. Location was very convenient for the station and USJ, which was our reason for choosing the hotel. It was wonderful to be able to head straight back to the hotel after our busy and exhausting day at USJ. The concierge helped us to arrange luggage forwarding, which we appreciated.

The restaurant was very pricey by Japanese standards. International cuisine buffet was on offer. The food was nice, but not worth the price for our particular family.

Location is great. Breakfast is really good, specifically fantastic coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh juice cocktails were all really good.

Upon check-in I was told that the room type that the hotel didn't have any quad room, although that was the main reason I had selected the hotel (My reservation was through booking.com) and I had already prepaid for the booking. I had to show the front desk people the actual booking with photos of the quadruple room for them to relent and assign me this room type. Seems to me either there's a disconnect between booking.com and the hotel or the front desk people didn't want to be bothered to look for the exact room type that I needed and had already paid for. To be fair, other than this small unpleasant detail, everything else was great and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast is excellent, a buffet of Japanese, Chinese, and non-Asian fare like sausages, bacon, pancakes etc. No egg station, which is my preference, but they have scrambled and soft-boiled eggs ready. There's a kids' buffet too with octopus-shaped weiners and others. :) Room is surprisingly big for Japan. Bathroom is the typical floor shower with personal onsen/bathtub beside it. Lots of electrical outlets all over the room. WiFi is blazingly fast and stable. There's a convenient ferry, The Captain Line, that cuts across the port to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, and to the rest of Osaka from there via public transport. Alternatively, there's the nearby train station which is roughly a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. There are convenience stores in Universal City. Of course, Universal Studios Japan is readily accessible. The entrance is 5 minute or less walk away. You'll have to cross a major street to get there.

There is no working desk and chair, per se. Just a small circular bedside table with a sofa-chair. So if you're planning to do work on your laptop like I did, it's not the ideal but it'll do. Not the hotel's fault, but expect long lines to the best restaurants in Universal City after spending the day in long lines in Universal Studios Japan, if that's your dinner plan. No big deal, but you'll have to take that into account and plan ahead. The hotel itself does have dining options which I didn't try. In hindsight, it might have been more convenient to just have dinner at the hotel.

The location next to Universal is great, the staff and the dining room are very nice and kids friendly. Very comfortable and pleasant. The staff have also helped us to arrange baggage delivery, entrance (and ferry) to the aquarium and getting to expo. The room was a bit small for 2+2, but we mainly used it to sleep at night

Besides the Minions theme, the hotel didn’t offer too much entertainment for the kids. It wasn’t a must, since Universal was the main attraction, but still it could be nice to have some coloring pages.

Very close to Universal Studios and the train station. Clean rooms. Spacious for Japan. Close to restaurants and cafes near Universal Studios - lots of choices.

The buffet breakfast had very little for Westerners and the coffee was terrible. For the price we paid we were quite disappointed. I skipped breakfast at the hotel two out of four days and ate elsewhere. They also only gave us 3 beds for 4 people (even though I’d booked and paid for 4 people). I think because my daughter is 4 years old, maybe they assumed she’d share a bed, because the same happened at the other hotels we stayed at in Japan??

We had a great stay at the Universal Port and choosing this hotel absolutely made our Universal Vacation a lot better. The hotel is extremely close to Universal - by foot it is about a 3 minute walk to City Walk, and another 4 minute walk to park entrance. Some people often choose to stay at Kyoto and go to Universal as a day trip but we thought we would rather stay nearby and save us the journey after a long day at the park. We ultimately decided to go for a day and a half at Universal Studios Japan and I highly recommend it as it made both days quite stress free (we were able to get an Area Time Ticket to Super Nintendo World at our first half day visit after 3 PM and also ride Mario Kart that day and so the second day was extremely stress free). It is also a good option if you are interested in a noon break from the park but do take note that Universal Japan doesn't necessarily allow guests to exit and then re-enter the park (we hadn't done it but found some people saying that in certain cases they allow re-entry and stamp your hand with an invisible ink the same as in Disney).

Loved how the property is near USJ and 5 min walk from the JR Yumesaki line. My son enjoyed walking to the Universal city walk since there is a lot of food places and crane game there. Staff is friendly. Hotel is able to assist with luggage forwarding services; they use the Yamato Luggage Service. There is a buffet there, we opted out on having the breakfast option. We ate there the first day since we was jet lagged and had wide variety of food. We had a nice view of the water. Hotel is minion theme which on son was excited about. Room was decently spacious considering we used the crib service.

Slightly bigger room size than your average rooms in downtown Osaka, good sound isolation and heat insulation with good AC. Very good size bathroom and bed. Ample elevators and fast check-in/out. Great staff from front desk to the café/restaurant, especially Rex Café staff we cannot praise them enough for their help our daughter's birthday celebration, they are the best. Amenities in the room are great too, nice robes and slippers etc. Food at the Rex café was great albeit a bit pricier than most, we did not try the restaurants due to their high price though. It's a short 5-mins walk away from the park's entrance.

The view facing the park is pretty much pointless and suffers from some noise coming from the park after the park is closed when they do some equipment testing. Despite having a very large space at the back of the hotel, there was not a single table/chair to relax outside after a long day at the park.
