July 2025

I had a deluxe cabin, so it felt like a small room, which was good enough for one person to spend the night. The bath, shower and makeup room were well equipped with a lot of amenities and products. The breakfast had a good selection even for people who want a more western breakfast. It is walking distance from Sapporo station but closer to Oodori station.

The deluxe cabins have the entrance wall not completely up to the ceiling so it stays quite bright at night, which added to the (expected, therefore preventable) noise of people packing things. This can be avoided with a night mask, so it isn't major, but good to know.

The location was very convenient only being a block away from odori station. It was also close enough to walk to odori park for the snow festival and very close to susukino to see the ice sculptures. The staff was friendly and very helpful. One guy I call my hero because he did not give up helping me to remove a tag from a newly bought snowboarding helmet I needed to use the next morning. There was ample over flowing amounts of amenities supplies. the onsen was big enough to enjoy even though there would be others there. The sauna was great too and clean. The room had two big single beds and very comfortable. the breakfast buffet was delicious and the value for it was so sweet. The 7-11 literally downstairs was such a nice helpful touch for necessities and stocking up at all hours. my room was quiet even though there was a lot going on outside and with a full hotel. DEFINITELY planning on booking again when staying in Sapporo

VERY minor things. The room was small but no smaller than the typical japanese room. My friend had tattoos so he technically couldn't go in the public shower area. there was just 1 private shower stall available for all the men in the hotel. Luckily, he was able to get by.

Perfect for solo travelers but also groups! The location was perfect only a few blocks from the shopping centers, the main area of Sapporo, and transportation lines. The entire hostel was extremely clean and looked exactly like the photos. They have so many high-quality toiletries like face cleansing wash and oil, moisturizer, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, you don't need to bring your own. The onsen was so nice to wind down after a long day of traveling. The hostel was very comfy and quiet and I was so sad to leave.

Nothing!!!!

Very close and within walking distance from stations. Surprisingly really loved the communal baths. Felt clean and there was never too much people around when I went. I went at varying times from 6pm to 8pm. I upgraded to a deluxe cabin and I’m glad I did. Grateful for the floor space for my luggage. It was overall a comfortable and affordable stay.

The only con I would say is the noise. I heard people snoring, and rustle sounds from opening luggages. But I mean I did the same thing to other people I’m pretty sure, from opening luggages. One more negative thing I guess would be the first encounter with a female staff. She looked reluctant or not seeming to want to help out when I came up before check in to store my luggage. But I think that was bc she was on her way somewhere and there was no one but her for the front desk at the moment.

Gardens Cabin was - at my time of visiting in August 2024 - an exceptional hotel. I chose a premium capsule (with a slightly bigger bed and personal space to walk. The entire operation is well-managed and I was permitted to check in late shortly after midnight. I was helped to understand the system by which this hotel works (and how the sleeping area is separate from the packing + bathroom areas) and there was literature in English to help further. The internet connection was extremely fast and allowed me to carry out any work I needed. The hotel is conveniently located above a 7-Eleven shop for purchasing any necessities. The hotel is more conveniently located almost in the centre of town, for easy walking and public transport access to the busiest and most vibrant areas of Sapporo. The staff were kind but we had very little interaction because most of my needs were met all at once upon check-in (which was a fast check-in in my experience). Breakfast was delicious and a true highlight, including a mix of rice, eggs, fish, chicken, pork, salad, and baked goods - alongside good coffee and juice. I must mention the public bath ('spa' or 'onsen') which was truly divine. Access to the public bath was included in the price of my stay, and the public bath is also available to members of the public who pay for day access. The baths were separated into male and female baths, and otherwise I shared the baths with other people. A cold, warm, and hot bath were available, and the facilities of these baths including the bathing options + lockers + bathroom sinks were outstanding. Having spent a lot of time walking during my trip, the baths soothed my aching muscles and I found the clientele were very polite.

Very minor points: Arguably, the internet could have been more useful if there were not so many access points. The same password could be entered into many different access points which meant that even if you had already connected to WiFi in your room, you had to connect to a different access point at breakfast. Also, the capsule rooms (including mine) would let in a certain amount of light bleed from the corridor so a sleeping mask was necessary to sleep. No sleeping masks were provided, but I had my own.

The location is just great, between odori park and susukino. The fact that there is a convenience store right at the ground floor is so well... convenient. The breakfast is pretty good for the price with a decent ninety of dishes. The shared bath is nice, with a sauna too.

There's a locked storage under the bed to put your luggage but only the thinnest suitcases and bags may actually fit in. The linen kept me warm, maybe a bit too warm in fact. Taking the lift to/from the shared bath floor (at B1) was sometimes awkward as you would often stop at the first floor and/or lobby on the way.

The location is superb, very near to subway and street car with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. It is also convenient to travel to airport, using Airport Liner. The deluxe room I stayed in had plenty of space, so you don't feel that the room is too small. It comes with a small desk which is very convenient.

The corridor has light on the whole night, so for people with light sensitivity, you definitely should bring an eye mask.

I liked its location so much, very near to Odori Park and Odori Station, can be walking distance from Sapporo Station also. There are many restaurants and malls nearby also. The beds were more than enough for a solo traveller like and me and for a hostel, not your typical bunk beds for hostels

There is only one private shower room and the shower rooms were only located at the basement floor. Other travellers are not that confident on taking a shower publicly. On my fourth day there, the shower room drain was clogged due to a lot of hairs in the drain. Large luggages do not fit the space under the bed but the hallway is spacious so it’s okay

Bed and pillow were comfortable. The onsen was very nice and the personal care products were quite good. In the deluxe cabin, there is quite a lot of space to fit a big suitcase, but you will have to open it on top of the bed.

I stayed in a deluxe cabin, which was great for the extra space. However, the curtain is short and doesn’t reach the ceiling, so light from the corridor comes very strong into the cabin.

It was an unexpectedly excellent stay! The hotel is 2 minutes away from the train station, 4 minutes away from the limousine bus stop going to the airport and just few steps to the famous Odori Park. The room was clean and unexpectedly quiet. All guests during my stay was (I guess) been courteous enough to be quiet while inside their respective room/cabin. The shower area was great and was equipped with the necessary facilities. If in Sapporo, I would definitely be staying in this hotel. Highly recommended!
